Cheng Qicai opened the cabinet and found an ordinary white mug among a pile of oddly shaped cups.
Although she has a lot of cups, she actually only uses a few of them on the table outside. The rest are just cups she bought for fun and have never used at home.
But when she saw the ordinary white mug, she was a little surprised. How could she have such an ordinary mug?
But then she noticed a pile of tacky printed mugs next to her, and she vaguely remembered that when she bought something before, she received a set of mugs as a gift.
This must have been a free gift with the purchase of something, right?
Cheng Qicai's thought flashed through her mind, and she didn't dwell on it.
She washed the cup, took a jar of lemons from the refrigerator, used tongs to cut out a few slices, put them in the cup, and then rinsed it with water.
She placed the lemonade in front of Gu Rongqi, then picked up her own cup and took a sip.
She felt it was missing something and suggested adding some ice cubes.
With the weather like this, and summer fast approaching, it's still okay to drink iced beverages.
She froze some ice cubes in the refrigerator a while ago because it was hot.
She stood up again, went to the kitchen, opened the refrigerator, took out a bag of ice, and then came out.
She opened the bag of ice and asked Gu Rongqi, "Do you want ice in your lemonade?"
"Sure, just add a few ice cubes."
Cheng Qicai put five or six ice cubes in his cup and asked, "Is this okay?"
Gu Rong started to speak.
Then Cheng Qicai added a few ice cubes to her cup.
After putting the ice back in the freezer, she saw some green dates inside. She took some out, washed them, and put them on a plate.
When she washed the dates and put them on the table, she suddenly noticed something on Gu Rongqi's cup out of the corner of her eye.
She turned her head to check and saw Gu Rongqi reach out to pick up the water glass and bring it to his lips. When his lips touched the rim of the glass, Cheng Qicai could see the pattern on the glass.
I also remembered what kind of cup this was.
Its ordinariness is merely a disguise; its true essence lies in the subtle ingenuity hidden within.
Noticing Cheng Qicai staring intently at him, Gu Rongqi paused, his hand holding the cup still. He looked at Cheng Qicai with a puzzled expression and asked, "What's wrong?"
Cheng Qicai felt a little flustered when he looked back at her, but she forced herself to remain calm and said, "It's nothing, I just wanted to ask you to eat some dates."
She picked up a green date and handed it to Gu Rongqi.
Gu Rongqi put down his water glass and took the green dates from Cheng Qicai's hand.
Seeing Gu Rongqi put down his water glass, Cheng Qicai secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Good, she hadn't been discovered yet.
But how could she secretly take the water glass away from his hand? This was a difficult problem, and Cheng Qicai racked her brains.
Finally, thinking about that one, it seems impossible for either one to happen.
Cheng Qicai crunched on the green dates in her hand rhythmically, like a robot with a pre-programmed sequence.
Gu Rongqi could tell from her absent-minded look that she was lost in thought.
He looked at it for a while, then turned his gaze back to the drawing paper.
Cheng Qicai thought for a while, then turned her gaze to Gu Rongqi, and saw him quietly drawing, the sound of the pen tip gliding across the paper making a soft scratching noise, his expression serious and focused.
They didn't seem to notice the commotion outside.
She stood up, pretended to go to the restroom first, and then came out and glanced at Gu Rongqi, who was still engrossed in drawing design sketches.
Very well, Cheng Qicai pretended to go into the kitchen again, and when she came out, Gu Rongqi's actions remained unchanged.
"Very good." Cheng Qicai encouraged herself inwardly.
Seeing that Gu Rongqi didn't react to her pacing back and forth, she was certain that Gu Rongqi was now immersed in the atmosphere of painting.
She quietly walked to Gu Rongqi's side, bent down, and reached out her hand.
Just as his hand was about to touch the handle of the cup, Gu Rongqi turned his head and looked at her.
It felt like a ghost was right next to her face; Cheng Qicai's heart was about to jump out of her throat.
"What are you doing?" Gu Rongqi's calm voice made Cheng Qicai break out in a cold sweat.
No, what kind of life is one that is constantly filled with awkward moments?
The two faced off in silence for a moment, then Gu Rongqi's gaze shifted downwards.
Seeing his gaze about to fall on the cup, Cheng Qicai quickly picked it up and covered the cup with her left hand, obscuring the pattern on it.
She pretended to be calm and said, "I see that there's not enough water in your cup, I'll go and add some for you."
