When Gu Rongqi parked in the parking lot, the three of them scanned their tickets and went inside.
They arrived early, but there were still quite a few people at this time.
Although the Taoist temple is on the mountaintop, the mountain itself is not very high; it might only take less than an hour to get there.
"If you're looking for windfall gains or a good marriage, go this way," Wu Jieyu said, pointing to another path on the map.
This path, dilapidated and very different from a normal stone-paved road, resembles the kind of path leading into the mountains and forests that Cheng Qicai's village has.
If it weren't for the countless red wishing ribbons tied along the roadside, Cheng Qicai would have really thought she was walking on that kind of road.
The road was rugged and uneven, making it difficult to travel.
But for people like Cheng Qicai and Wu Jieyu who ran wild in the mountains as children, it was fine.
Cheng Qicai looked at Gu Rongqi with concern, "How do you feel walking? Is it difficult?"
Gu Rongqi looked up at her and smiled, "It's alright."
Seeing that Gu Rongqi was not acting strangely, the three of them continued walking up the mountain. After walking for about half an hour, they finally arrived at the Taoist temple where they sought marriage.
The three of them walked to the front of the statue's hall. There was a long queue ahead of them, and they waited for about five or six minutes before it was their turn.
The three walked to the prayer mat, knelt solemnly on it, closed their eyes, and silently expressed their wishes to the deity they were worshipping.
After speaking in her heart, Cheng Qicai devoutly bowed to the gods.
After the three finished their prayers, each of them bought a wishing slip.
Cheng Qicai thought for a moment, then wrote down a lot.
After Wu Jieyu finished writing, she leaned over to look at Cheng Qicai. After reading what she had written, she frowned and asked, "You wrote so much, why didn't you write anything about marriage?"
"I don't want to ask for that right now," Cheng Qicai said calmly.
“No…” Wu Jieyu glanced at Gu Rongqi’s face and saw that he also had a calm expression, so she didn’t say anything more.
Cheng Qicai ignored her reaction and went to find a seat on her own.
Seeing that the two of them didn't react much, Wu Jieyu pursed her lips and went to find a place she wanted to hang it herself.
Gu Rongqi was standing next to Cheng Qicai, and her position was just right to see what Gu Rongqi was writing.
The first inscription reads "Wishing the Gu family prosperity and strength," while the second reads "May Cheng Qicai's wishes come true."
Cheng Qicai was stunned, and a surge of heat seemed to well up in her eyes.
She paused for a moment before looking at Gu Rongqi, her eyes seemingly glistening with tears. She hesitated before asking, "I didn't write it..."
Gu Rongqi looked into her bright eyes and said, "No, it's fine to write what you want to write. I'm just writing what I want to write too."
Cheng Qicai remained silent, found a spot, and hung up her wishing strip.
Gu Rongqi tied it to her side.
Cheng Qicai quietly watched the two red ribbons fluttering side by side in the breeze, and suddenly said, "Your wish will come true."
Gu Rongrong was taken aback upon hearing this, and looked at Cheng Qicai with a rare look of confusion.
"How are you all?" Wu Jieyu walked over, interrupting Gu Rongqi's attempt to ask.
"Alright," Cheng Qicai nodded. "Shall we wander around here a bit more?"
“Great!” Wu Jieyu said happily.
After hanging up, the three of them strolled around the temple for a while.
After we finished shopping, Wu Jieyu said, "Let's walk this way to the main hall upstairs. My roommate knew I was coming and asked me to get her a lucky charm bracelet. Perfect timing, we can each get one and have some good luck too."
They walked with Wu Jieyu for more than ten minutes to the main hall, where there were actually fewer people than at the place below where people were seeking marriage.
It's possible that the one below is smaller, while the one on the mountain is larger.
They went with Wu Jieyu to get a lucky charm bracelet.
The dark green color looks quite nice, and when worn on the hand, it makes the hand appear very fair.
After she got the bracelet, Wu Jieyu dragged her to the southeast of the temple, where there was a large cauldron platform where she could throw wishing balls.
Wu Jieyu smiled and raised the bracelet on her wrist, "Now can we see if our luck has turned around?"
Cheng Qicai also thought throwing this wishing ball was quite interesting.
Wu Jieyu picked out a few matchmaking balls and handed them to her, saying, "You should at least try throwing them this time!"
This time, Cheng Qicai didn't refuse and took the ball that Wu Jieyu handed her.
Seeing that Gu Rongqi didn't have many, she gave him a few of hers.
Cheng Qicai watched him stand below the cauldron and throw the object, but she felt that the position was not good; it was too straight and difficult to throw.
It was actually easier to exert force at the bottom of the steps, so she took the wishing ball down the steps and stood to the right and behind Gu Rongqi to throw it.
Cheng Qicai threw one first, and it went in perfectly from this direction.
She threw three or four more balls, and when only one was left, she threw it with all her might towards the cauldron.
Just as Cheng Qicai was about to fall into the cauldron, someone's wishing ball collided with hers, causing it to veer off course, veer out of the cauldron, and then fall straight down.
Cheng Qicai stared blankly as the red ball hit Gu Rongqi, who was facing her, on the head.
Gu Rongqi was clearly stunned by the impact as well. Seeing Cheng Qicai's expression, his gaze finally fell on the red marriage ball still rolling on the ground. He bent down to pick it up and reached over the railing to hand it to Cheng Qicai.
"Are you alright?" Cheng Qicai asked him with concern.
Gu Rongqi shook his head, "It's nothing, it didn't hurt much."
Cheng Qicai looked at Gu Rongqi, who was bending over high up. At this moment, he was gazing at her tenderly, his eyes filled with her own image of looking up, and his hand was still in the posture of reaching out to hand her the marriage ball.
The dark green bracelet on her wrist, matching hers, looked particularly eye-catching.
