Chapter 46 Breakfast

They discovered she had entered the media room, and Gu Rongqi and his men found her behind the curtains.

"Surprise!!!" Cheng Qicai raised her hand and shouted, then grabbed Gu Rongqi, who was standing at the front, and gave him a big kiss on the cheek.

He kissed each of the aunties who came with him, and when it was Wang Ben's turn, he realized what was happening and subconsciously pushed Cheng Qicai away and back to Gu Rongqi.

Cheng Qicai planted another kiss on his cheek, but this time it was on the right side instead of the left.

Everyone was stunned, but Cheng Qicai was quite satisfied and said to everyone, "Rewards have been distributed!"

Gu Rongqi dragged her back to the living room with a dark expression.

At this moment, Cheng Qicai would assess the situation and sip the hangover soup that Wang Ben had served.

Wang Ben cautiously said to Gu Rongqi, "Rongqi, the guest room is ready."

Gu Rongqi said indifferently, "Okay, I'll ask Aunt Li to take her up later."

After drinking the hangover soup, Cheng Qicai stared at Gu Rongqi with her big, bright eyes.

Aunt Li called her upstairs, but she didn't move.

Aunt Li looked at Gu Rongqi with a troubled expression, not knowing what to do.

Gu Rongqi rubbed his throbbing temples and said to her, "Go to sleep."

Cheng Qicai nodded, but remained motionless.

Gu Rongqi patiently repeated, "You and Aunt Li go upstairs to sleep."

Cheng Qicai remained motionless.

Gu Rongqi was puzzled and was about to ask her what was wrong when he saw Cheng Qicai's lips droop and she said in a wronged tone, "You haven't said goodnight to me yet."

Gu Rongqi said to her in a good-natured manner, "Good night!"

Goodnight, you too!

Cheng Qicai suddenly rushed in front of him, her rosy lips uttering each word clearly, her eyes staring straight at him without blinking. He could clearly see himself reflected in her eyes.

She was so serious, it was as if he was the only person in her world.

Gu Rongqi was stunned and lost in thought. By the time he came to his senses, Cheng Qicai had already obediently gone upstairs.

The next morning, Cheng Qicai's phone alarm went off. She instinctively rubbed herself against the covers, but it wasn't the familiar scent of her home blankets. Startled, she opened her eyes.

Clutching her throbbing head, she stared at the ridiculously large room, which was as big as her rented apartment. The room was decorated with great style, understated yet luxurious.

Cheng Qicai didn't know where she was or how she got there.

Could it be Lu Qi's villa? she wondered.

Given her strength and kindness, Cheng Qicai couldn't think of anyone else at yesterday's banquet who would help her; it must have been the female lead.

On the sofa were the clothes she wore yesterday, as well as several new outfits, all neatly folded.

Cheng Qicai still chose her own clothes. As soon as she picked them up, she smelled a fragrance, indicating that her clothes had been washed and dried.

There were also different kinds of toiletries on the washstand, including several kinds of toothbrushes. Cheng Qicai touched them and found that the toothbrush bristles were of different hardness.

Cheng Qicai sighed, "No wonder they're rich; the service is excellent."

Cheng Qicai opened the door and went out, then went down the stairs.

"Miss Cheng, this way please," a woman in formal attire said to her.

Cheng Qicai followed her to the restaurant, where people were already dining. They sat upright, their slender hands holding white porcelain coffee cups and bringing them to their lips.

"President Gu?!" Cheng Qicai exclaimed incredulously.

She had considered the male lead's family, but she never imagined that Gu Rongqi's family would be the one that started the business.

It feels like I've traveled through time again.

"Miss Cheng, here's your breakfast." Another aunt brought her a breakfast, identical to the one on Gu Rongqi's plate across from her.

There are many varieties but not many portions, just enough to fill you up, and the nutrition and colors are perfectly matched.

"Thank you." Cheng Qicai smiled at the aunt.

But I always felt that the aunt's gaze towards her was a little strange.

She suppressed her doubts and asked again, "Mr. Gu, how did I get here?"

Gu Rongqi put down his coffee cup and looked at her suspiciously, "You...don't remember?"

Cheng Qicai shook her head, "I drank too much yesterday and blacked out."

She had never been this drunk before. At most, she would be so drunk that she would be in a daze, but she would still remember what happened the day before when she woke up the next day.

She had no idea that she would black out when she was completely drunk.

Gu Rongqi silently chopped the fried eggs on his plate without answering.

"Just tell me what shameful thing I did yesterday?" Seeing that Gu Rongqi didn't want to say more, her heart skipped a beat, and she blinked resignedly.

She was now convinced that she had acted drunkenly last night, pestered Gu Rongqi, and forced him to take her home.

His usually deep and serene eyes showed signs of fatigue, with a few red veins, and unusually dark circles under his eyes, which further solidified Cheng Qicai's guess.

Gu Rongqi didn't give a straight answer, only saying, "It's nothing."

It seems to be a really embarrassing thing, something Gu Rongqi doesn't want to think about again.

A series of footsteps approached from afar.

Still half asleep, Gu Liji casually pulled out a chair and sat down. "Brother, what's for breakfast?"

He craned his neck to look at Gu Rongqi's plate, and after seeing it clearly, he lazily leaned back in his chair.

"Strange, why does my head hurt so much?" Gu Liji muttered, rubbing his head.

Following his words, Cheng Qicai looked at his head and noticed a messy braid with a familiar-looking hair tie at the end.
