The next day, Yun Suni brought them breakfast.
After the three finished eating, Cheng Qicai asked Gu Liji, "Brother Gu, do you need us to take you outside for some fresh air?"
"Okay." Gu Liji recovered noticeably after one night.
After Yun Su Ni left, Cheng Qi Cai was afraid that he would be too sad and didn't know what to say to him.
But he only asked her to go out and buy him a phone, and after he got it, he just played on it all night.
Is it because you were experienced with rejection last time, so this time the blow wasn't as big?
Cheng Qicai and Yun Suni were pushing him around downstairs at the hospital when his cell phone suddenly rang.
Cheng Qicai took it out and saw that it was Gu Rongqi.
Gu Rongqi's voice rang out, "I've arrived. Where are you all?"
Cheng Qicai replied, "We're downstairs. We'll come find you right away."
Cheng Qicai pushed Gu Liji toward the hospital entrance. From afar, they saw Gu Rongqi, dressed in a dark brown cashmere coat, standing like a bamboo shoot at the hospital entrance, his eyes meeting theirs as they rushed over.
Cheng Qicai waved, and Gu Rongqi walked over to them.
“Gu Rongqi”.
"Mr. Gu."
"elder brother……"
The three voices spoke at the same time, and Gu Rongqi nodded slightly.
Looking down at Gu Liji, who was sitting in a wheelchair, she asked, "Is it serious? What did the doctor say?"
Under Gu Rongqi's gaze, Gu Liji didn't dare to speak much.
Cheng Qicai answered for him: "The doctor said it's not a big problem. He just needs to put on a cast and rest."
"Thank you!" Gu Rongqi said to Cheng Qicai and the others.
"By the way, Brother Gu's car is still in the mud. What do you think we should do about it?" Cheng Qicai reminded him.
"Yes, I'll find someone to handle it."
Cheng Qicai realized he must have just arrived, so she asked, "By the way, have you eaten?"
Gu Rongqi shook his head.
Yun Suni chimed in, "Qicai, why don't you go to dinner with President Gu? He's not familiar with this place. I'll take care of things here, Liji."
Cheng Qicai glanced at her and Gu Liji, feeling uneasy about the two of them being together.
Gu Liji chimed in, "It's alright, Su Ni will push me, you and my brother go."
Seeing that Gu Liji said so, Cheng Qicai could only nod in agreement.
As she and Gu Rongqi walked out of the hospital, she asked him, "Is there anything you want to eat?"
"Anything is fine with me. I'm not very familiar with this area, so you can give me a recommendation." Gu Rongqi put his hands in his coat pockets and looked down at Cheng Qicai.
It had been more than a week since I last saw her, and her cheeks seemed a little fuller.
"How about mutton rice noodles? There's a place around here that's super delicious." Cheng Qicai looked at the flashing red light.
As the red light turned green, Gu Rongqi lifted his foot, and a black electric scooter sped past.
The next second, he felt a pull on his arm and was pulled backward.
He didn't notice while stepping back and fell backward.
Cheng Qicai was shocked and subconsciously reached out her hands to support him. His back almost fell onto her, like a small mountain pressing down on him.
My hand is going to break!
Gu Rongqi staggered two steps, steadied himself, and did not fall completely.
Cheng Qicai breathed a sigh of relief. If Gu Rongqi had fallen, she would have been crushed into a potato chip behind him.
She spoke up to remind them, "Traffic restrictions aren't as strict here as in the city, so you need to be more careful. Many electric bike riders don't follow traffic rules."
Ever since she started remembering how she died in her previous life, she now makes sure to look left and right for a few extra seconds before crossing a green light.
Fortunately, she caught him a few steps behind, otherwise Gu Rongqi would have ended up in the hospital with Gu Liji, becoming fellow sufferers.
"Thank you," Gu Rongqi said softly.
Once they were sure it was safe, the two of them lifted their feet and crossed the road again.
Cheng Qicai led him to a rice noodle shop. She greeted the owner skillfully and ordered a bowl of rice noodles.
"How is it? Is it okay?" Cheng Qicai watched Gu Rongqi take a small bite.
Gu Rongqi chewed lightly a couple of times, swallowed, and said, "It's delicious."
"That's good. I've been eating at this place since I was a child. It's been open for many years. I was worried that my childhood memories might affect you."
Gu Rongqi paused slightly with his chopsticks, smiled, and said, "No, it really is delicious."
Upon receiving affirmation, Cheng Qicai smiled broadly.
After finishing their noodles, the two returned to Gu Liji's hospital room.
Someone called Gu Rong midway through, he spoke a few words, and a man in his forties came in shortly afterward.
"President Gu!" He stepped forward and shook hands with Gu Rongqi.
"Yes, Mr. Wu!" Gu Rongqi shook hands with him again. "I need you to take care of Liji's car."
"No problem, Mr. Gu, don't worry about such a small matter!" Mr. Wu assured him confidently. "By the way, where is Young Master Gu's car? I need to go check on it."
Gu Rongqi looked at Cheng Qicai.
Cheng Qi replied, "It fell into the abandoned fishpond in our village. Do you need me to take you there?"
"Then I'll trouble you." Mr. Wu nodded.
“I’ll go with you,” Gu Rongqi suddenly said.
Wouldn't that leave Yun Suni and Gu Liji alone again? She hesitated, glancing at the two of them.
"It's alright, Qicai, you can go with President Gu." Yun Su Ni said understandingly.
Since Yun Su Ni said so, they went to the parking lot.
"Gu Rongqi, shall I wait for you at the door?" Cheng Qicai turned her head to look at him.
Gu Rongqi frowned. "Aren't you coming with us?"
"No, I came in a tricycle. You can ride in Mr. Wu's car."
“Yes, Mr. Gu, please ride in my car,” said the middle-aged man called Mr. Wu. “Then I’ll trouble you to go ahead while Ms. Cheng leads the way.”
Cheng Qicai parted ways with them temporarily and waited for them at the door in her tricycle.
