She was still wondering if she had misheard, otherwise, how could she have heard Gu Rongqi say that he was cooking?
She sat blankly on the sofa until Golden Bean nudged her hand, bringing her back to her senses.
Ignoring the golden beans that were begging to be eaten, she went straight to Gu Rongqi's kitchen and quietly peeked out from the doorway.
In the kitchen, Gu Rong got up, rolled up the sleeves of his camel-colored knitted sweater slightly, revealing a well-proportioned and muscular forearm, and skillfully stir-fried the vegetables in the pot.
As the pot simmered, steam rose from it and seeped into the range hood, softening Gu Rongqi's demeanor.
He's starting to give off the vibe of a stay-at-home dad.
Gu Rongqi noticed Cheng Qicai by the door. He paused in his work of flipping through the dishes, turned to look at her, and asked softly, "Are you hungry? Just cook one more dish."
"No...no, I just came to take a look." Cheng Qicai touched her nose.
She didn't believe it, did she? Now that she's seen it for herself, she has no choice but to believe it.
She looked at the stir-fried dishes on the table behind him and asked, "Are all these dishes going to be served?"
"Yes, put it in the restaurant area outside," Gu Rongqi replied, pouring the food from the pot onto a plate and garnishing it with a few chopped green onions.
Cheng Qicai carried the dishes to the restaurant outside. Looking at the delicious and fragrant dishes in her hands, she really wouldn't believe that Gu Rongqi made them if she hadn't seen him cooking in the kitchen earlier.

Cheng Qicai went in again to help take out the bowls and chopsticks.

When he brought the last dish to the restaurant, he saw Cheng Qicai sitting in a chair playing with Huang Jindou.
Gu Rongqi gently placed the plate on the table, and the soft sound attracted Cheng Qicai's attention, which had been focused on the golden beans.
Cheng Qicai looked up at Gu Rongqi and asked, "Is it all better?"
"Um."
"Wait a minute, I'll go wash my hands first. Golden Bean licked me just now." Cheng Qicai stood up and walked towards the kitchen.
When Huang Jindou saw her stand up and walk, he followed her eagerly, almost tripping her.
She bent down and gently pushed it towards Gu Rongqi, then softly scolded it, "Go find your dad."
Gu Rongqi's smile deepened upon hearing her words. He beckoned to Huang Jindou, "Huang Jindou, come here."
Seeing it head towards Gu Rongqi, Cheng Qicai straightened up and took the opportunity to go to the kitchen to wash her hands before returning.
"Try it and see how it tastes?" Gu Rongqi said as she sat down.
"It looks delicious." Cheng Qicai picked up a piece of shredded potato from the plate with her chopsticks, put it in her mouth and chewed it carefully. It was sour and spicy, and the taste was surprisingly good.
Cheng Qicai swallowed the potato in her mouth, looked up at Gu Rongqi who was staring at her, and inexplicably saw a hint of nervousness in his expression.
The food in his bowl remained untouched.
"It's delicious, it looks and smells amazing!" Cheng Qicai praised loudly with a smile. "How long did it take you to learn this? You can cook it like this and set up a stall!"
Gu Rongqi said in a low voice, "It wasn't long. We just hired a chef, and I learn from him when I have free time."
"Oh, so how did you come up with the idea of learning to cook?" Cheng Qicai reached for the fish meat on the back of the fish.
"Because when I visited your house before, the way you cooked in the kitchen, the clanging and banging sounds from there, made me feel very warm and cozy, so..."
Back then, she was so busy with the spatula that it was practically sparking, and she still called it cozy? Cheng Qicai didn't understand.
She couldn't help but say, "Cooking only feels cozy when you're relaxing. If you have to cook after a long day at work, it's just too much."
Gu Rongqi laughed. "I have plenty of time now."

Gu Rongqi's wealth and leisure are so enviable!

After finishing her meal, Cheng Qicai absentmindedly stroked Huang Jindou's head as she watched Gu Rongqi walk out of the kitchen.
Cheng Qicai stood up and said to him, "I'll head back now."
