The two walked along the crowd and could see the shows along the way. Cheng Qicai would stop to watch and take videos of any interesting shows.
Gu Rongqi followed her around, stopping and starting. Sometimes Cheng Qicai was so engrossed in watching that she didn't pay much attention to the pedestrians.
With so many people around, it's easy for them to bump into each other. Whenever this happens, Gu Rongqi would gently pull her aside to prevent her from colliding with others.
As they walked, they arrived at the next project, which was also the last item on the cardboard: making lanterns or round fans.
The organizers set it up in an area resembling a courtyard, with an open space in the middle where dozens of long tables and benches were arranged in a row, and many people were creating art in front of the tables.
This reminded Cheng Qicai of her school days, when, during large-scale exams, the school would have students carry their desks and chairs to the playground for outdoor exams to prevent cheating.
This association made Cheng Qicai laugh, and she shared this feeling with Gu Rongqi.
Gu Rongqi shook his head, "Our school has never done that."
Well, Cheng Qicai suddenly felt that she and he had nothing in common.
When Cheng Qicai arrived at the workbench and saw the explanation on the sign, she felt that this project was quite interesting.
What's interesting about this project is that you can take your lanterns home or hang them on nearby tree branches to enhance the surrounding lighting.
So when they came in, what they saw was quite different from the exquisite and beautiful lanterns outside. The lanterns here had a distinct hand-painted style, some beautiful, some ugly, and all sorts of strange and wonderful things.
Cheng Qicai took a look out of curiosity. Some had cartoon characters drawn on them, some had contact information written on them, and some had blessings written on them...
Of course, there are also masters. Some of their hand-drawn works are very beautiful. Cheng Qicai even wanted to take them home because they were so beautiful, but of course, that's just wishful thinking.
This immediately piqued her interest, and she went to the staff to collect the materials with great enthusiasm, eager to make her mark. However, when the staff asked her whether she wanted to choose a round fan or a lantern, she was caught in a dilemma.
Cheng Qicai felt that they were all great, and she wanted them all!
Seeing her hesitant look, Gu Rongqi said, "Why don't we each choose one? You can take both later."
Don't you want it?
Gu Rongqi shook his head, "I don't care, you can take them all if you like."
Since Gu Rongqi said so, she didn't refuse and they each chose a style.
She chose a lantern, while Gu Rongqi chose a round fan.
In reality, the materials provided by the staff were very simple, only enough to make a basic design. However, some people always like to create something special, so the lanterns hanging on the trees come in all sorts of shapes and sizes.
Cheng Qicai spent a long time constructing a plan in her mind, but in the end she gave up the wild and unpredictable ideas in her mind and simply tied the wooden stick with rope to make a square frame.
When it came time to draw a pattern, Cheng Qicai couldn't think of anything to draw, so she wandered off to look at other people and look for inspiration. She saw someone drawing a group portrait of himself and his friends.
The painting is so warm and beautiful.
Cheng Qicai thought the idea was good, and with a wave of her hand, she began to imitate it.
But she overestimated her skills; the two of them drew "you" and "me," and they looked completely unrelated.
She herself felt it was too monotonous, so she drew a bowl of glutinous rice balls between the two of them.
Hmm... The person, the bowl, and the person form a planar relationship.
Cheng Qicai sighed. With her skill level, this was the best she could draw.
She leaned closer and looked at Gu Rongqi next to her. He was drawing very seriously and meticulously, and a lifelike and vivid little dog was leaping off the paper.
Cheng Qicai realized that he had drawn golden beans.
"What a dog lover!" she thought to herself.
I looked at his, then at my own.
Hmm, so ugly.
She picked up her pen, trying to struggle again, revising it again and again, but each revision only made it uglier.
She remained silent for a moment, then dejectedly glued the four pieces of paper onto the frame. Finally, she glued the small light bulb to the center, and the job was done.
Cheng Qicai picked it up to look at it, and the more she looked, the more upset she became!
"Are you done?"
Gu Rongqi put down his pen and looked at the lantern in front of Cheng Qicai. The familiar figures on it made him realize that Cheng Qicai had drawn them.
He was taken aback.
Seeing that he was staring at her lantern, Cheng Qicai took a step back uncomfortably, feeling a little embarrassed. "Have you finished drawing it?"
“Hmm,” Gu Rongqi snapped out of his reverie and smiled, “Your painting has a lot of childlike charm.”
Does "childlike fun" mean that one's drawing skills are at a child's level?
People with high IQs speak with sophistication.
Cheng Qicai pouted.
"Uh, could you help me modify it?" Cheng Qicai looked at the round fan in Gu Rongqi's hand and felt more and more that her own was too simple.
Maybe some changes can improve it.
Gu Rongqi picked up her lantern and pondered for a moment.
"No way, is my painting really that hard to save?" Cheng Qicai thought to herself, her heart pounding with anxiety.
Gu Rongqi first drew the long-haired little figure, making the hair closer to its current appearance, and then used white to draw the small clips on her ears and the small flower brooch on her collar.
Then, a circle was drawn to create a window effect, connecting the two people. A table was then drawn under the bowl to create a spatial relationship between the foreground and background, making the picture more three-dimensional.
Because the bowl Cheng Qicai painted was too small, Gu Rongqi added a spoon on each side of the table and painted a few oranges, making the content much richer and eliminating the previous empty feeling.
