A moment later, Gu Rongqi came out of the bathroom, holding Cheng Qicai's clothes in his hand.
He handed the clothes to Cheng Qicai, "Shall we go down for dinner together later?"
"Okay!" Cheng Qicai hesitated for a moment before nodding. "I asked the kitchen lady to prepare the fish, and then we can invite Brother Gu to come and eat together."
Although their current situation is somewhat awkward, Gu Rongqi deserves credit for the fish, so it wouldn't be right not to call him.
Cheng Qicai returned to her room and put the clothes in the basin to wash and dry.
She looked at the clothes hanging on the balcony. Although Gu Rongqi had only worn them for a short time, she still felt awkward as if they weren't her own clothes.
After she finished washing up, she lay down on the lounge chair on the balcony and unknowingly fell asleep with her eyes half-closed.
When her phone rang, she answered it in a daze, "Hello..."
"Sleeping?"
Upon hearing the familiar voice on the other end, Cheng Qicai glanced at her phone and saw Gu Rongqi's name displayed. She then checked the time; it was already six o'clock.
She put the phone back to her ear and said, "Okay, I'll be right down."
"good."
She hung up the phone, went to the bathroom to wash her face, and cleared her mind before going downstairs.
As soon as she came down, her eyes met those of Gu Rongqi in the lobby.
She walked over to them and asked, "Have you eaten?"
Gu Rongqi said gently, "No, I'm still waiting for you."
"Who knew you were asleep? I thought you were deliberately standing me up!" Gu Liji teased.
Cheng Qicai ignored him and said to them, "I'm going to the kitchen to see if Auntie has cooked the fish yet."
She went to the kitchen.
As soon as the aunt saw her, she called out to her, "Seven Colors, your fish is ready. I was just about to call you, but I was worried that if the fish was steamed for too long, it wouldn't taste good."
"Okay, thank you, Aunt Chen." Cheng Qicai smiled sweetly at her. "By the way, are there any new dishes coming out now?"
Although meals are served all day, sometimes the dishes don't come out the same.
Cheng Qicai arrived early and shared the same name "Cheng" with the kitchen aunt. Although the characters were different, the similar pronunciation made them feel closer, so she got along well with the kitchen aunt.
She can then pre-order the dishes she wants to keep.
"We have freshly roasted duck and steamed pancakes. Would you like some?"
Roast duck? That sounds good.
Cheng Qicai nodded repeatedly.
She looked around the kitchen, selected a few dishes according to Gu Rongqi and the others' tastes, and then pushed the food cart out.
Aunt Cheng originally said she would ask someone to help her push it over, but Cheng Qicai refused.
She laughed and said, "There aren't many dishes, so there's no need to call someone to push them. I can handle this much myself."
"Alright!" Aunt Chen nodded.
Cheng Qicai pushed the food cart to Gu Rongqi and the others, just as she was about to put it on the table.
Gu Liji suddenly said, "Since we're already here, we should at least find a place with a nice view to eat, that would be more romantic."
Cheng Qicai asked in confusion, "Where do you want to go? If the scenery is nice, the rooftop terrace, the beach, or the courtyard in the back would also be good."
"Let's go to the rooftop terrace then," Gu Liji decided.
Since Gu Liji wanted to go to the terrace, neither of them objected.
But they'll have to call someone to deliver the food to them.
Just as the group was about to leave, they ran into Yun Su Ni and Lu Qi, who were walking in side by side.
"Seven Colors, where are you going?" Yun Su Ni asked.
“We’re planning to eat on the rooftop terrace,” Cheng Qicai replied. “Sis, Brother Lu, have you eaten yet? Want to come over? I caught some fish today.”
"No need, we've already eaten, and we have other things to do," Yun Suni said regretfully. "You two can eat slowly."
Cheng Qicai nodded.
After saying goodbye to Yun Suni and the others, they took the elevator to the rooftop.
There were still some people on the terrace, but there was more than one seat, so they found an empty spot and sat down.
A short while later, the staff set out their meals and asked if they needed anything else.
Cheng Qicai looked at them and said, "These are just some random orders. Is there anything else you'd like to add?"
Gu Rongqi shook his head.
Gu Liji looked around and said to the staff, "Get us a bottle of red wine."
After the staff brought the red wine, poured it into a decanter to let it breathe, and then poured a glass for each of them.
Cheng Qicai waved her hand in refusal. She had to get up early tomorrow and wasn't going to drink!
Gu Liji saw Cheng Qicai refuse, "Why aren't you drinking?"
"I have to get up early tomorrow, otherwise it will be troublesome if I get drunk," Cheng Qicai explained.
"Drinking a little less won't hurt," Gu Liji said, sounding a bit annoyed.
Cheng Qicai noticed something was wrong with him; his mood immediately plummeted after seeing Lu Qi and Yun Su Ni.
She couldn't argue with him right now, so she picked up her glass and took a small sip.
Gu Liji raised his glass to Gu Rongqi, who then took a small, symbolic sip.
Gu Liji was in a bad mood, so she didn't want to start a conversation, lest she ignite his resentment. She silently picked up a slice of roast duck from the table and rolled it into a pancake.
The freshly roasted duck skin is still crispy. One bite, and you experience a refreshing cucumber flavor mixed with the oil from the duck skin, the tenderness of the duck meat, and the sweet and salty taste of the sauce...
In short, it's incredibly delicious.
She picked up another fish she had caught herself; the fish meat was very fresh and tender.
But she's gotten tired of it lately, so it's not so bad anymore. She actually prefers roast duck now.
She was happily rolling the tortilla, and just as she put a bite of the newly rolled tortilla into her mouth, she felt two pairs of eyes staring at her face.
