"The spent cartridge cases here come in three different calibers. But the bodies on the ground, after preliminary identification, belong to two clearly distinct gangs. If it was just a shootout between these two gangs, why would there be firearms from a third party?"
Li Wei's expression changed slightly.
Qin Xiao continued, "Moreover, look at the corpse in that corner. He was shot from behind, but his position should have been in a blind spot of his firepower. This means that the person who killed him was someone he trusted implicitly, one of his own."
"That's not all." Qin Xiao stood up, dusted off his hands (which weren't actually dust), and scanned the entire room.
"The distribution of the corpses at the scene, seemingly chaotic, actually forms an encirclement. But this encirclement does not surround the enemy, but rather themselves. Until their deaths, they were on guard against an enemy that was unexpected by all of them."
Qin Xiao's words were like a scalpel, instantly dissecting the chaotic scene and revealing the chilling truth beneath.
"So, this isn't a case of double-crossing." Qin Xiao looked at Li Wei, who was speechless, and then at Shen Xingling, whose pupils had contracted, before giving his final conclusion.
"This was a massacre. A mysterious third party launched an indiscriminate attack on both sides of the deal. He first instigated infighting, and then, in the chaos, silenced everyone."
"His goal is to take everything from the deal between the two parties."
The entire scene fell silent once again.
All the police officers, including Li Wei, looked at Qin Xiao with an expression as if he were a monster.
This analytical ability... is terrifying!
Just minutes before, they had treated him as a thug trying to take advantage of others, an ignorant and arrogant commoner.
Now, this man has overturned the initial judgment of their entire elite team of serious crimes with just a few words!
Li Wei's face turned pale and then red, as if he had been slapped several times in public.
Shen Xingling's heart was pounding. She looked at Qin Xiao's profile, and the embarrassment and anger she felt from being offended were unconsciously replaced by a strong sense of curiosity and shock.
Just who is this man?
Qin Xiao ignored the stares of the crowd, as if he had done something insignificant, and continued walking towards the shadowy side of the unfinished building.
"If I'm not mistaken, the killer, in order to avoid leaving any trace, would choose the least likely route to escape."
He pointed to an almost vertical, unfinished ventilation shaft.
He left from here.
Looking at the almost impossible passage, and then at Qin Xiao's determined back, Shen Xingling felt a surge of indomitable spirit.
She didn't want to get entangled with Li Wei anymore, and she didn't want to relive the shameful and angry feeling she had just experienced.
She just wanted to understand one thing—why was this man so sure?
"You, come with me!"
Shen Xingling quickly stepped forward and grabbed Qin Xiao's wrist; the touch was warm and strong.
She didn't give Qin Xiao any time to react. She grabbed him and rushed into the deep darkness without hesitation!
