Chapter 119 Preparing to Watch the Show

Before he could finish speaking, Long Aobing's furry head popped out from under Qin Xiao's armpit. She was haphazardly wrapped in a silk quilt, revealing only her snow-white shoulders and collarbone.

She was still sleepy-eyed, looking annoyed at being disturbed, but her eyes held a hint of provocation, like a wildcat, as she sized up Song Zhixue.

"Hey, Miss Song, what brings you here in the middle of the night instead of sleeping... Are you trying to eavesdrop? Or... do you want to join us and discuss the philosophy of life?"

Provoked by her blunt words, Song Zhixue's initial embarrassment was quickly replaced by anger. She abruptly raised her head, her cold eyes glaring at Long Aobing, and her voice rose considerably: "What nonsense are you spouting! I just... just couldn't sleep because of your noise! You... you are utterly shameless!"

“Our marriage is loving and harmonious, it’s only natural, how can you be shameless?” Long Aobing raised an eyebrow and stepped out from behind Qin Xiao, her silk quilt slipping down to reveal a large expanse of alluring cleavage.

She puffed out her chest smugly. "But some people, who meddle in everything, even other couples' private conversations, I think they're just lonely, empty, and filled with envy and jealousy."

"You!" Song Zhixue trembled with anger. Her good upbringing prevented her from saying anything more offensive. She could only stammer for a long time, her eyes even turning red.

"Alright, Bingbing, say no more." Qin Xiao reached out and pulled Long Aobing back into his arms, then pulled the quilt up to cover her up. He then looked at Song Zhixue and softened his tone: "I'm sorry, Miss Song, it was our oversight that disturbed your rest. We will be more careful."

Song Zhixue looked at Qin Xiao, whose expression was normal, even with a hint of apology, which contrasted sharply with the arrogant and rude woman next to him.

The anger in her heart inexplicably dissipated, replaced by a complex emotion.

She opened her mouth as if to say something, but in the end she only managed a somewhat embarrassed "hmm" before fleeing back to her room and slamming the door shut.

Long Aobing snuggled into Qin Xiao's arms, complaining, "She got off easy! And she dares to interfere in our affairs! Husband, let's continue, let's deliberately speak louder, let's annoy her to death!"

Qin Xiao chuckled and pinched her nose: "Why are you getting angry with her? But the soundproofing in this villa is really bad. Next time, let's try a more 'in-depth' way of communicating, and I'll make sure she can't hear anything."

Upon hearing this, Long Aobing's eyes flashed with seductive charm, and she immediately understood. With a coquettish laugh, she hooked her arm around Qin Xiao's neck and offered him a sweet kiss.

In the next room, Song Zhixue buried herself in the covers, tightly covering her ears with a pillow. But the faint, ambiguous, and blush-inducing sounds seemed to penetrate all barriers and seep into her mind. She felt her cheeks burning, her heart pounding faster and faster, and images she had never encountered before uncontrollably surfaced in her mind.

"Lecherous scoundrel... vixen..." she cursed inwardly, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep. The more she tried to block out the sounds, the clearer they became. She even began to suspect that the two people were deliberately targeting her.

That night, Song Zhixue barely slept a wink, sporting dark circles under her eyes, and only managed to drift off to sleep as dawn approached.

The next morning, Qin Xiao got up feeling refreshed, while Long Aobing stayed in bed like a lazy kitten, muttering that she wanted to sleep a little longer.

When Qin Xiao came downstairs, he was surprised to find that Song Zhixue had already gotten up and was standing at the kitchen door, looking a little flustered, holding a plate in her hand.

"Good morning, Miss Song," Qin Xiao greeted her.

When Song Zhixue saw him, her cheeks flushed almost imperceptibly, her eyes darting away. She said softly, "Mr. Qin, good morning. I... I made breakfast." She pushed the plate forward, on which were two slices of... well, let's call them burnt bread slices. The edges were completely charred, and the middle part had a strange dark brown color.

Qin Xiao looked at the two "special" slices of bread, then at Song Zhixue's expression, which was a mixture of anticipation and trepidation. He suppressed a laugh and said in a serious tone, "Thank you for your hard work, Miss Song. It looks... very special."

At this moment, Shen Xingling also came downstairs yawning. When she saw the bread in Song Zhixue's hand, she was stunned for a moment, and then burst out laughing: "Zhixue, what kind of new kind of dark cuisine have you come up with? What kind of ordeal has this bread gone through?"

Song Zhixue's face instantly turned bright red, wishing she could disappear into the ground. She had originally wanted to show off and prove that she wasn't just eating and staying for free, but she had messed it up again.

"I...I'm not very good at cooking." Song Zhixue's voice was barely audible, filled with frustration.

"It's alright, it's alright. Everyone has their own expertise. Your medical skills are so good, it's normal that you can't cook," Qin Xiao comforted gently, naturally taking the plate and casually placing it aside. "I'll make breakfast. What would you like to eat?"

"I want your seafood porridge! And crystal shrimp dumplings too!" Long Aobing had come down at some point, and as soon as she heard about food, she perked up immediately, affectionately taking Qin Xiao's arm, and not forgetting to give Song Zhixue a smug look.

Song Zhixue watched as Qin Xiao skillfully tied on his apron, entered the kitchen, and began methodically preparing the ingredients. His movements were fluid and pleasing to the eye. Soon, an enticing aroma wafted from the kitchen. She then looked at her own disastrously messy plate of bread, a mix of emotions welling up inside her. This man seemed quite different from the spoiled rich kid she had imagined.

The atmosphere at breakfast was harmonious. Qin Xiao's cooking skills were naturally superb, and even the usually picky Long Aobing ate with a beaming smile. Song Zhixue also ate quite a bit, and the gloom in her heart seemed to dissipate somewhat.
