Chapter 11 Let's eat all the food at his house first.

Qin Xiao sized up the maid in front of him who called herself Ink Rose.

Her body was wrapped in a black maid outfit, and her figure was indeed quite good, but her face was like an ice sculpture, devoid of any warmth.

His eyes were particularly vacant, as if his soul had been ripped out, leaving only a shell carrying out orders.

Was it sent by the master?

Qin Xiao sneered inwardly.

When has his cheapskate father ever had the leisure to care about his daily life?

If someone shows you kindness without any reason, he is either a traitor or a thief.

"Qin Xiao! Be careful! She's in danger!"

Yun Yiyi's voice screamed in his mind with unprecedented tension.

"I can't scan her specific information! But she exudes a very strong sense of threat! Ye Chen! It must be an assassin sent by Ye Chen! Disguised as a maid to get close to you!"

"But she wasn't in the original story! The plot has changed again!"

Yun Yiyi was almost in tears.

Qin Xiao's eyes darkened slightly.

An assassin, huh... that's interesting.

He remained expressionless, even displaying a gentle smile.

"Black Rose, right? Thank you for your hard work."

He stepped aside to let her in.

Mo Meigui remained expressionless, bowed slightly with textbook-perfect movements, and then carried a heavy-looking vintage suitcase into the villa.

Qin Xiao closed the door, cutting off the view from the outside world.

He rubbed his temples and said to Yun Yiyi in his mind, "Is there any defensive system? Like one that makes me immune to all poisons, to prevent her from poisoning me?"

Although he has a "rebound" system and is theoretically not afraid of direct attacks, it's still best to be wary of insidious tactics like poisoning.

Yun Yiyi's voice immediately sank, sounding like she was about to cry.

"Waaaaah... Qin Xiao, I'm so sorry..."

"We've used up all our system refresh attempts for today..."

Qin Xiao: "..."

He almost couldn't catch his breath.

This system assistant fails at crucial moments; could it be any more unreliable?

He took a deep breath, suppressing the urge to complain.

"Okay, I got it."

It seems I can only rely on myself.

Qin Xiao looked at Mo Meigui, who was meticulously taking out and arranging the items from her suitcase.

Her movements were precise and efficient, exuding a soldier-like crispness, but her eyes remained unfocused.

Qin Xiao walked to the living room sofa and sat down, asking casually, "Mo Rose, can you cook?"

Mo Meigui paused in her hand movements, turned around, and spoke in the same emotionless tone.

"Yes. I can learn to cook home-style dishes, or if you have any special taste preferences."

Qin Xiao nodded.

"We haven't had dinner yet, let's just make something simple."

Mo Meigui responded and turned to walk towards the kitchen.

Qin Xiao's gaze followed her back, his fingers unconsciously tapping the armrest of the sofa.

A moment later, a slight noise came from the kitchen.

Qin Xiao got up and quietly followed, standing at the kitchen door.

Mo Meigui took out a uniquely shaped black dagger from her suitcase; the blade gleamed with a cold, eerie light under the lamplight.

Qin Xiao's heart jumped.

Seriously? They're going to make a move so soon?

However, Mo Mei simply took the knife and walked to the cutting board, seemingly preparing to process the ingredients.

Qin Xiao breathed a sigh of relief, but at the same time found it somewhat amusing.

A top assassin using his own weapon to chop vegetables? That's incredibly dedicated.

He walked in and naturally took the razor-sharp-looking short knife from Mo Mei's hand.

"Let me do it. You've just arrived, so you should get familiar with the surroundings first."

Mo Meigui seemed to pause for a moment, a fleeting, almost imperceptible ripple flashing across her empty eyes.

She didn't insist, and silently stepped aside, watching Qin Xiao skillfully tie on his apron and begin processing the ingredients.

Qin Xiao used his memories from before he transmigrated, and the cooking skills he had honed in his lonely life came in handy.

While I wouldn't call myself a top chef, I'm more than capable of cooking a few everyday dishes.

Soon, an enticing aroma filled the kitchen.

The sweet and sour flavor of sweet and sour pork ribs, the spicy and savory flavor of Mapo tofu, the refreshing taste of stir-fried vegetables...

Mo Mei stood in the corner, like a silent sculpture, only her slightly twitching nostrils betraying that she was not entirely indifferent.

The food is served.

Qin Xiao served himself a bowl of rice and also served Mo Mei a bowl.

"Eat."

Mo Meigui looked at the food in front of her, her eyes seemingly filled with struggle.

This is food prepared by a hostile target.

Logically speaking, it shouldn't be eaten.

But……

"Gurgle..."

A clear, untimely sound came from her lower abdomen.

Mo Meigui's body stiffened for a moment, her face remained expressionless, but a slight, unnatural blush seemed to rise from the roots of her ears.

Qin Xiao pretended not to hear and continued eating.

Mo Meigui remained silent for a few seconds before finally picking up her chopsticks.

She ate very slowly and mechanically, as if she were performing a program.

But Qin Xiao noticed that she had unconsciously sped up the speed at which she picked up food.

Upon taking her first bite, a slight hint of surprise flashed in her eyes.

The second bite, the chewing motion seemed to soften a bit.

The third bite...

Qin Xiao watched as she devoured her first bowl of rice in a flash, then silently picked up the bowl and filled it to the brim for himself.

She remained expressionless, as if the person whose stomach had been growling just moments before wasn't her.

Qin Xiao's lips twitched almost imperceptibly.

That's quite an astonishing amount of food.

A pot of rice and three large plates of vegetables—almost 90 percent of it ended up in Mo Mei's stomach.
