Chapter 19 The Rose's Dilemma

He then turned to Su Wanying and introduced her with a smile.

"Sister Wanying, this is Mo Meigui, my... housekeeper/maid, responsible for taking care of my daily life and safety."

Su Wanying looked at Mo Meigui with great interest, her eyes crinkling with a seductive smile.

"A housekeeper/maid? Little Qinqin, you certainly know how to enjoy life."

Gu Siqing also carefully observed Mo Meigui, her eyes sharp, as if trying to see through her disguise.

Mo Meigui ignored the two men's scrutiny and simply performed her duties as a maid, taking Qin Xiao's coat and speaking softly.

"Young Master, dinner is ready, and it's all to your liking."

Qin Xiao glanced gratefully at Mo Meigui, and was about to say something when his stomach growled loudly.

"Gurgle gurgle—"

He gave an awkward laugh.

"Rose, about dinner... I'm afraid we'll have to postpone it a little."

I got a bit injured today, so I don't have much of an appetite, and also...

Qin Xiao paused, then pointed to Gu Siqing and Su Wanying.

"I'm afraid I won't be able to cook you a big meal tonight. I've already taught them how to make a seafood feast. How about... you all eat together?"

Upon hearing this, a barely perceptible hint of worry flashed in Mo Meigui's eyes, but she quickly regained her composure.

"I will follow your instructions, young master."

She stepped slightly to make way, her tone concerned.

"Young Master, you're injured. Why don't you go upstairs and rest?"

Qin Xiao felt a warmth in his heart at Mo Meigui's thoughtfulness and consideration. He patted Mo Meigui's shoulder gratefully and said softly.

"Rose, thank you."

Mo Meigui's body stiffened slightly, but then she returned to normal, though her ears seemed to have turned a little red.

Mo Meigui looked at Qin Xiao's wounds, her delicate brows furrowing slightly, her tone tinged with worry.

"Young Master, who injured you like this?"

"Is there anything Rose can do for you?"

Qin Xiao didn't want Mo Meigui to worry, and he didn't want her to know about the grudge between him and the Dragon King Palace, so he spoke vaguely.

"It's nothing, I just accidentally got bumped by a careless security guard. It's a minor injury, don't worry."

A hint of doubt flashed in Mo Meigui's eyes, but she did not pursue the matter further, instead silently noting down the keyword "security guard".

Supported by Gu Siqing and Su Wanying on either side, Qin Xiao slowly walked upstairs. Two completely different fragrances lingered around his nose, and a soft touch came from his arms, making him feel the "torture" of being torn between ice and fire once again.

He couldn't help but glance back in the direction where Mo Meigui had left, a faint sense of apology and inexplicable emotion welling up in his heart.

Just then, a sudden, urgent cell phone ring broke the delicate atmosphere in the villa.

The ringing was coming from the direction of Mo Meigui's room, and it sounded somewhat jarring and abrupt.

Mo Meigui paused for a moment, as if she had heard the bell, but she did not stop. Instead, she continued walking towards the kitchen, her figure disappearing around the corner.

Qin Xiao frowned slightly, feeling that the ringtone was somewhat unusual, but at the moment he was being "held hostage" by the two beauties on either side of him and really didn't have time to check. He could only suppress his doubts for the time being and let them help him upstairs.

While Qin Xiao was being helped upstairs by the two women, Mo Meigui did not appear in the kitchen.

Her figure silently slipped into the next room—her bedroom.

Mo Meigui closed the door behind her, quickly walked to the bedside, and pulled out an old-fashioned black cell phone from under the pillow.

A special caller ID flashed on the phone screen – “No.1”.

Mo Meigui's eyes instantly became incredibly sharp, and her original pure and lovely temperament vanished, replaced by a cold and murderous aura, like a sharp sword drawn from its sheath, its edge fully revealed.

She took a deep breath, answered the phone, and spoke in a very low voice, but with a slight, almost imperceptible tremor.

"Young Master."

On the other end of the phone came a deep and magnetic male voice, with a hint of authority and an unquestionable command.

"Rose, have you reached Qin Xiao's side yet?"

"How are the mission preparations going?"

The owner of that voice was none other than Ye Chen, the young master of the Dragon King Palace.

And the true identity of Mo Meigui was finally revealed—she was Mei Xinya, a top assassin planted by the Dragon King Palace next to Qin Xiao.

At this moment, Ye Chen was lying in the special care ward of the Imperial Capital Military Region General Hospital. His face was pale and his breath was weak, but his eyes were still sinister and ruthless.

He was ambushed by Qin Xiao in the police station interrogation room during the day, and his dantian was damaged. Although he was given emergency treatment and barely survived, his strength was greatly reduced and he will need some time to recover.

This was an utter disgrace to the proud and arrogant Ye Chen.

He dreamed of tearing Qin Xiao to pieces to vent his hatred.

"Young Master, I have arrived in the capital and am currently infiltrating Qin Xiao's inner circle."

Mo Meigui's voice remained calm, revealing nothing unusual.

"very good."

Ye Chen's voice carried a hint of satisfaction, but it quickly turned cold again.

"That ant Qin Xiao dared to plot against me; he deserves to die!"

"Rose, I command you to eliminate Qin Xiao as soon as possible, at all costs!"

"I'll show him the consequences of offending the Dragon King's Palace!"

Mo Meigui's heart sank suddenly, and a chill ran from the soles of her feet to the top of her head, making her feel icy cold all over.

She gripped her phone tightly, her knuckles turning white from the force. After a moment of silence, she slowly spoke, her tone hesitant.
