Chapter 36 is also not out of the question.

After passing through winding corridors and around several jagged Taihu stones, Qin Xiao spotted the small figure in a corner hidden by a stalagmite.

Tang Manshuang squatted on the ground with her back to him, her slender shoulders still trembling slightly. She held a dry twig in her hand and was poking the ground hard with it, muttering something indistinctly under her breath.

"...You big idiot...you broke your promise...liar...you said you'd be good to me...and you forgot in the blink of an eye...boohoo...you jerk...I hate you the most..."

His voice was heavily nasal and full of grievance.

Qin Xiao walked over quietly.

Tang Manshuang seemed to sense the movement behind her and turned around abruptly. When she saw that it was Qin Xiao, she was like a startled rabbit, hurriedly raising her hand to wipe her face haphazardly, trying to hide her disheveled state after crying.

But her swollen eyes and equally red nose couldn't be hidden. She immediately puffed out her cheeks again, staring at Qin Xiao warily, her body unconsciously shifting back.

"What are you doing here! Who let you come!" She looked Qin Xiao up and down warily, her eyes filled with obvious confusion and anger. "Where's my 'Seven-Colored Soul-Severing Powder'? How can you be completely unharmed? You should be weak all over, lying on the ground foaming at the mouth!"

Seeing her awkwardness—looking pitiful yet trying to appear fierce—Qin Xiao's heart inexplicably softened.

He ignored the childish name of the poison, walked straight up, and took a clean tissue out of his pocket.

"Wipe your face." He said calmly, without any emotion in his voice. "Crying like a little wildcat, what kind of behavior is that?"

Tang Manshuang was clearly stunned, staring at the tissue handed to her, momentarily forgetting how to react.

Qin Xiao then naturally squatted down in front of her, holding a tissue, and gently wiped away the tear stains on her cheeks, even wiping the tip of her nose.

The whole process was smooth and effortless, as if it had been done a thousand times before.

"I'm sorry." Qin Xiao looked at her wide eyes, which were staring in surprise, and his tone became more serious. "I made you unhappy just now."

He paused briefly, as if organizing his thoughts, and a hint of confusion and helplessness appeared on his face: "Some time ago, I had an accident and hit my head. I can't remember many things from before."

"My body has also become a bit strange, as if it is particularly resistant to toxins, so those powders you just gave me were of no use to me."

As he spoke, he carefully observed Tang Manshuang's changing expression, watching as the wariness and anger in her eyes slowly faded, replaced by disbelief and inquiry.

He continued subtly, adding, "However... although many things are blurry, I seem to... vaguely remember a little bit..."

He deliberately slowed his speech, leaned closer, and lowered his voice, carrying a tentative uncertainty: "I remember... you... you seem to be a very special person to me? Our relationship before... was it... a little different? For example..."

He paused, as if choosing his words carefully, "Boyfriend or girlfriend?"

"Girlfriend/girlfriend?!"

These three words struck Tang Manshuang like a thunderbolt. Her face instantly turned bright red, and the redness spread at an alarming speed, from her cheeks to her small earlobes, and then to her fair and slender neck, leaving no part untouched. The heat was almost scalding the air.

She suddenly lowered her head, her eyes darting frantically to the tips of her shoes. Her small hands nervously twisted the hem of her clothes, her voice barely audible.

"Who, who's your boyfriend! You, you're talking nonsense!"

She retorted fiercely, but her shy demeanor, as if she wanted to dig a hole in the ground and bury herself in it, clearly betrayed her.

She couldn't help but steal a glance at Qin Xiao, then quickly looked away as if she'd been burned.

Qin Xiao was practically bursting with laughter at her insincere expression. This little girl's thoughts were easier to read than a blank sheet of paper.

"No, but..." Tang Manshuang took several deep breaths, seemingly trying to encourage herself, her voice still trembling slightly, "Since you've forgotten... then... then I'll mercifully tell you!"

She abruptly raised her head, trying to put on a calm expression that said, "Yes, I am your girlfriend." However, her slightly trembling eyelashes and darting eyes completely betrayed her nervousness and barely concealed excitement.

"We...we really...have been dating...for a very, very long time!"

Seeing her trying to remain calm, both embarrassed and anxious, yet still maintaining an arrogant air of "I'm only admitting it to give you face," Qin Xiao almost couldn't keep his expression in check.

He forced back the corners of his mouth that were about to turn into a grin, and deliberately moved closer, his nose almost touching her smooth, full forehead. His voice was even lower, with obvious teasing and ambiguity.

"Oh? You've been dating for a long time?"

The warm breath brushed against Tang Man's sensitive earlobe, making her shrink back as if she had been electrocuted, and her cheeks turned even redder.

"Well..." Qin Xiao's voice carried a deep, seductive quality, "Since we've been dating for so long and our relationship is so close... a kiss to confirm our feelings, that's not too much to ask, is it?"

"ah?!"

Tang Manshuang was once again stunned by this earth-shattering demand. Her eyes widened, her cherry-like mouth opened slightly unconsciously, and her brain seemed to freeze instantly, leaving her speechless.

"Give me a... a kiss?"
