Chapter 15 A Desperate Gamble!

Beneath the neon-lit sign of the "Dreamy" bar, a sports car, clearly the result of a violent collision and with its front end dented, was parked haphazardly on the roadside, drawing frequent glances from passersby.

The car door opened, and Qin Xiao crawled out in a disheveled state.

His expensive custom-made suit was now covered in mud and grass clippings, and was even torn in several places, revealing the lining underneath. His hair was disheveled, and there were a few faint scratches on his face.

He looked like he had just rolled around in the mud.

"Yun Yiyi, explain this to me. This 'All Failures' system even controls how I drive?"

Qin Xiao's voice, tinged with suppressed annoyance, echoed in my mind in a low voice.

He had checked the vehicle before setting off and planned the route perfectly, but along the way, he either had a flat tire or almost rear-ended someone. In the end, he even inexplicably drove into the roadside green belt, which is why he ended up in such a mess.

"Host...I'm sorry..."

Yun Yiyi's aggrieved voice came through, sounding like she was about to cry.

"【All Failures】The system judges it as 'active behavior,' and driving... that counts as your active behavior, so... so the probability of failure will be greatly increased..."

Qin Xiao took a deep breath, suppressing the urge to complain.

This broken system is truly "honest and trustworthy," it keeps its word.

"Failure +1".

A cold, impersonal system notification sounded in my ear.

Qin Xiao looked in the direction of the sound and saw two flashy young men, clearly out causing a scene, pointing at him and making no attempt to hide their mockery.

"Holy crap, buddy, look at that guy. He drives a beat-up sports car and still manages to look like this. Is he some kind of country bumpkin coming to the city?"

"Hilarious! This outfit paired with those mud splatters is just amazing, is it performance art?"

Their voices were neither too loud nor too soft, just loud enough for Qin Xiao to hear.

Qin Xiao was not angry at all; instead, a subtle smile appeared on his lips.

fail?

laugh at?

Perfect.

The bigger the commotion, the more it fits his next plan.

He straightened his tattered collar, ignored the mocking looks, and walked straight toward the door of the "Dreamy" bar.

The bar was dimly lit, the drumbeats of heavy metal music pounded against your heart, and the air was filled with an ambiguous scent of alcohol and perfume.

The figures on the dance floor writhed wildly, while people in the booths clinked glasses and drank, creating a noisy and chaotic atmosphere.

Qin Xiao's appearance was like a drop of cold water falling into a boiling oil pan.

His "failed" outfit, so out of place with his surroundings, instantly attracted a lot of attention—some curious, some disdainful, and some simply there for the spectacle.

Qin Xiao didn't care at all. His sharp eyes quickly swept across the entire room and soon locked onto his target—a stunningly beautiful woman with a cold and aloof demeanor, sitting alone in the corner of the bar.

Gu Siqing.

She wore a smart black business suit, and even in such a noisy environment, she maintained a dignified and aloof demeanor, as if an invisible barrier separated her from the surrounding clamor.

At this moment, she was frowning slightly, looking at the amber-colored liquid in her glass, as if she had something on her mind.

Sure enough, not long after, two flamboyantly dressed, sleazy-looking young men staggered over, their faces bearing malicious smiles.

One of them, holding a wine glass, approached Gu Siqing seemingly unintentionally, while his other hand subtly flicked, and a speck of white powder silently fell into the wine glass in front of Gu Siqing.

The movement was very subtle, but Qin Xiao could see it clearly.

They've arrived.

The prelude to a classic scene from the original story – the hero rescuing the damsel in distress.

Gu Siqing seemed oblivious, or perhaps she was already used to this kind of advances; she merely glanced up indifferently and ignored it.

The two thugs were still grinning and talking, trying to get her attention.

Gu Siqing picked up her wine glass, seemingly intending to finish it and leave this uncomfortable environment.

She brought the rim of the cup to her lips and took a small sip.

Qin Xiao's heart jumped. Although he knew this was inevitable in the plot, seeing it with his own eyes still gave him a subtle sense of tension.

Soon, Gu Siqing's eyes began to glaze over. She shook her head, trying to stay awake, but the drug's effects were clearly too strong. Her body went limp, and she slumped onto the bar, losing consciousness.

"Hehe, got it!"

One of the thugs chuckled in a low voice and reached out to help Gu Siqing up.

Just then, a roar filled with a sense of justice rang out.

"You scoundrel! Let go of that girl!"

Ye Chen appeared at just the right moment, as if it were part of a script.

With a face full of righteous indignation and cold eyes, he rushed forward and "elegantly" pushed the two thugs away.

"How dare you abduct a woman in broad daylight! You're asking for death!"

Ye Chen gave a low shout and got into a fighting stance.

Those thugs were naturally actors arranged by Ye Chen, and they immediately surrounded him, pretending to be fierce and menacing.

A “fierce” fight ensued.

Ye Chen's punches and kicks, though seemingly powerful, were actually quite subtle. The thugs, in turn, cried out in pain and rolled on the ground, making the charade incredibly realistic.

The surrounding guests were taken aback by the sudden turn of events and stepped back, clearing a space for them to look at the "hero who had done the right thing" with a mixture of awe and curiosity.

Soon, the thugs were beaten black and blue by Ye Chen and ran away in a panic.

Ye Chen straightened his clothes, a "righteous" smile appeared on his face, and turned to pick up the unconscious Gu Siqing.
