The belt in Qin Xiangjun's hand fell to the ground with a clatter. He staggered back a step, his face drained of color.
He looked at his son in disbelief, as if he were seeing him for the first time.
He wasn't unaware of the corruption within the company, but he never imagined it had gotten this bad!
What shocked him even more was that he, as the chairman, had not been able to fully grasp these complex and deeply hidden problems, yet his son had uncovered them completely in less than a night!
"You... what you're saying... is it true?" Qin Xiangjun's voice trembled slightly.
Qin Xiao spoke with certainty.
"You can send someone to check the accounts immediately."
"If I'm not mistaken, they're probably frantically destroying evidence at the company right now, trying to get away with it!"
Qin Xiangjun snapped out of his daze, a resolute glint in his eyes, and immediately picked up his phone and dialed a number.
When the call connected, he suppressed his anger, but his voice remained icy.
"Chang Sheng, are you still busy at the company?"
Li Changsheng's slightly tired but amused voice came from the other end of the phone: "Yes, Brother Xiangjun, there are a lot of accounts at the fund recently, I need to keep an eye on them myself to feel at ease."
Qin Xiangjun sneered.
"Really? Well, you've had a long day."
"All company financial documents are to be temporarily sealed and not touched!"
"I have already reported it to the police. The economic crime investigation police will be involved and conduct a full audit of the company's accounts!"
After saying that, he hung up the phone without giving the other party any time to react.
The living room fell silent once again.
Qin Xiangjun slowly turned around, his gaze towards Qin Xiao extremely complex, containing shock, lingering fear, anger, and even a trace of... guilt.
He opened his mouth, but it ultimately turned into a slightly hoarse sigh.
"You...you found all this out, why didn't you tell me sooner?"
A hint of fatigue appeared on Qin Xiao's face, yet it also carried a sharp insight that seemed to see through everything.
"Because I also know that there is a traitor in the company who is even more terrifying than Li Changsheng."
"I have to put on this act to lull him into a false sense of security and make him give himself away."
Qin Xiangjun's heart tightened: "There's an inside traitor? Who is it?!"
Qin Xiao stepped forward, leaned close to Qin Xiangjun's ear, and whispered a name.
Qin Xiangjun was struck dumb, his eyes widening in shock as he gasped in disbelief.
"It was him?!"
Qin Xiao's eyes were deep.
"We'll find out soon enough whether it's him or not."
"Trick him a little, and he'll naturally start to get restless."
Qin Xiao dragged his slightly heavy steps back to his room.
The moment the door closed, he could no longer hold on, cried out in pain, and collapsed onto the soft bed.
The wound on my back burned with pain, and my clothes were soaked with cold sweat.
Not long after, there was a gentle knock on the door.
Qin Xiao's mother came in carrying a tray with medicine and gauze on it.
She sat on the edge of the bed, carefully lifting Qin Xiao's clothes. When she saw the crisscrossing bloodstains, her eyes reddened again.
"Why are you being so stubborn, child..." she murmured tenderly as she gently applied the medicine to Qin Xiao.
The ointment was cooling and relieved some of the pain.
The room was filled with a faint scent of medicine.
Qin's mother paused in her actions, then asked casually.
"Are you serious about you and that girl from the Gu family?"
Feeling the coolness on his back and his mother's concern, Qin Xiao's tense nerves relaxed a little, and he softly hummed in agreement.
A relieved smile appeared on Qin's mother's face, but she also seemed a little thoughtful.
"I see... Then I'll have to prepare another bracelet later."
Qin Xiao sensed something was off about what she said, so he turned his head slightly and looked at his mother with a puzzled expression.
"Um?"
"Mom, what...do you mean by that?"
