Chapter 101 The Sudden Blame

The True Transformation Sect investigated the matter in Taogui Town for several months without finding anything conclusive, and the vanished Earth-Shaking Cauldron was nowhere to be found. You You had no choice but to temporarily put the matter aside and, while doing so, inform the major immortal sects of what had happened there, urging them to strengthen the safety measures for their disciples who were out on training missions. Unfortunately, she received little feedback from the sects; only a few sects with missing elite disciples sent messages inquiring a few more questions about the situation in Taogui Town.

You You didn't interfere much; after all, they were disciples from another sect, and it wasn't her place to control them. That group of disciples was quite seriously injured, especially the one whose soul tablet was cracked. In the end, it was only with the remaining Bone-Refining Pills from last time that his foundation was stabilized. Lin Feng and Yin Fan were also severely injured, especially Lin Feng. Because he forcibly formed his Golden Core, he attracted heavenly lightning. Although his cultivation had advanced to the Golden Core stage, his Golden Core wasn't very stable.

Fortunately, Wei Bi suggested that he could refine some Qi-strengthening pills to repair his hidden injuries. Combined with the cultivation methods taught by Qiu Zhang, given time, it would not affect his path of cultivation.

You You breathed a sigh of relief. Aside from needing to consume a large number of spiritual plants, everyone had escaped unscathed. Looking at it this way, Feng Rong was actually the most seriously injured…

Beep~

Just then, a few small sparks popped above her head. When she looked up, she saw a ball of red flame floating above her head.

"A little flame?" She was taken aback.

Seeing her look up, the little flame immediately began to sway gracefully, its heart puffed up and popped out something before falling down.

Youyou caught it reflexively, and looking down, unsurprisingly, it was another red lotus. Only this one was much larger than the ones given to her before, almost bigger than both her hands. Hmm… a giant hand warmer!

"Why are you out again?" Ever since Yuan Qi put the Crimson Sword into the formation, Feng Rong has recovered quickly. The most obvious thing is that this little flame no longer has to stay in the egg all the time. It sneaks out from inside from time to time to bring her flowers, rain or shine.

She sighed, glanced at the shy little flame wriggling in front of her, and couldn't help but remind her, "You have to be a good boy/girl. It's dangerous outside. What if you get caught in the rain? Only by staying in the egg can Feng Rong wake up quickly."

The small flame paused for a moment, then shrank weakly, its crimson color fading slightly, as if it were filled with endless grievance.

Youyou felt a pang of heartache for some reason, so she added, "Alright, let it go this time. Remember to go home early next time! Thank you for the... big flower!"

In a flash, the little flame reignited, and it was so easy to coax. It happily circled around her, occasionally nuzzling her face affectionately, before flying to her head and showering her with flower petals.

You You shook her head with amusement, not stopping her, and continued to look down at the vast spiritual field before her. She casually plucked an unidentified spiritual plant that looked like a sweet potato, wiped the soil from its roots, and sensed the faint spiritual energy within it. She was preoccupied with how to increase and accelerate the sect's spiritual plant production, as these were consumables with high demand.

The small flame that was scattering flowers paused, then suddenly flew down from above, splitting into two small clusters that flew towards her palm, swirling around the spiritual plant in her hand, and then encircling the plant's roots with its own body. In an instant, the originally thick, snow-white roots became soft and scorched yellow, and a rich fragrance wafted out.

The little flame then raised its two separate flames and presented them to her as if to show off its success—it's cooked, you can eat it now!

Youyou: "..."

●﹏●

I never knew that Feng Rong's natal fire also had the skill of roasting sweet potatoes!

But... this isn't a sweet potato, so it doesn't need to be roasted!

Youyou was speechless, but had no choice but to take it. And you know what... it smelled pretty good!

?(ˉ﹃ˉ?)

"Thank you!" she said, and the little flame twisted even more happily, turning its head as if to rush into the spirit field.

"Wait, little flame!" She was startled and quickly stopped the fire, saying seriously, "These are spiritual plants, used for healing. You can't just pick and roast them. I won't eat them!"

The little flame shrank back in disappointment, then obediently drifted back—Youyou didn't like it…

"But this smells delicious, I'll take it!" She waved the crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside spiritual plant again and added.

Sure enough, the little flame was happy again, rushing over to nuzzle her face affectionately before flying back to her head and showering her with flowers. Just as Youyou was about to continue her research, a loud boom suddenly came from another floating peak behind her, raising a cloud of dust from its summit.

Youyou was startled. Upon closer inspection, she realized that the floating peak seemed to be the location of the martial arts arena. What had happened?

"Little Flame, go back into the egg first, I'll go check on things!" she said, looking up.

The little flame was obedient; it flew back to the cave where Feng Rong was sleeping in a flash, and before leaving, it even split into two flames and made a heart shape with its hands towards her.

With a huge red lotus in one hand and a roasted sweet potato... oops! A spiritual plant in the other, Youyou found the sect's teleportation array and teleported directly to the peak from which the loud noise had come.

As soon as they stepped out of the formation, they saw that the area in front of them was already surrounded by disciples, all looking in with excitement, and occasionally they could be heard praising them.

Youyou glanced into the crowd and noticed two figures wielding swords, their bodies surging with spiritual energy, seemingly engaged in a magical duel. The duel was now over; one stood, the other lay down, and a long crack, as if cleaved by force, remained on the ground, still bearing traces of sword energy. The sound from earlier must have come from that very attack.

Upon closer inspection, the two looked somewhat familiar. The one standing with a sword in one hand was none other than Shuiyan. She was no longer the alluring woman she was in the Demon Cave, nor was she as docile and obedient as she had been in front of her. Instead, she wore a cold expression, her eyes as icy as ice, a single glance seeming capable of shooting out shards of ice. The way she looked at the defeated man on the ground was more like looking at trash.
