The more you try to rouse the flame, the weaker it becomes, even taking on a slightly aggrieved pale green hue, like an animal that has made a mistake, desperately shrinking itself into a tiny ball.
Youyou found it somewhat amusing, but couldn't contain her anger. She sighed and said, "Fine, just don't run around. Stay close to me, okay?" Feng Rong's condition had stabilized considerably, and Little Flame should be alright here.
The little flame lit up instantly, returned to its original size, and happily circled around her.
Youyou continued to lecture Xiaohuomiao for a few more minutes before beginning to look around. Upon closer inspection, it seemed to be a cave, and quite large at that. She couldn't tell which way it led, nor did she know. However, a strange smell wafted from ahead, resembling the nest of some kind of animal.
Adhering to the principle of cherishing life and staying away from danger, Youyou turned around and quickly headed towards the other side where the smell was fainter. The little flame took the lead and flew ahead, not only illuminating the road brightly, but also occasionally throwing out a few small flames to sweep the area it passed through clean, clearing a smoother and cleaner path for her.
The person and the seedling had walked for less than five minutes when suddenly a loud rumbling sound reached their ears, and the entire ground began to shake. As if something had been awakened, a sharp, piercing scream rang out.
The sound was peculiar, seemingly carrying some kind of sonic attack, causing rocks inside the cave to crash down and the ground to shake even more violently. Her heart sank, and she quickly cried out, "Quick, Little Flame, let's get out of here!"
The small flame flickered and drifted even faster. But even so, it didn't forget to clear a path for her. Instead of slowly spitting out small flames, it grew rapidly, sweeping out a wall of fire that instantly cleared the path completely.
Youyou ran wildly forward, and as the light ahead grew brighter, she finally reached the exit. Then... she saw it right there: the giant monster that had just roared!
Yuu, running frantically to avoid danger: "..."
Shouldn't monsters stay inside caves? Why are they outside? Are all monsters this sassy these days?
"It's you!" Before she could react, an unfamiliar female voice suddenly rang out from her right, "You... what are you doing here?"
She turned her head and saw that there was another person next to the monster. It was a petite girl who was holding a sword and looking at her in surprise. She was quite pretty, and there was something familiar about her. She couldn't remember where she had seen her before.
There was a defensive array in front of the girl, but it was full of cracks and looked like it wouldn't last much longer. The girl was covered in blood, whether from the monster or herself, and looked very disheveled, probably injured.
Youyou only had time to glance at it briefly before the enraged beast spotted her, let out a sharp roar, and turned to pounce on her.
The girl's expression changed instantly, and she shouted, "This is an eighth-tier demon beast! Run!" She then gripped her sword tightly, as if she wanted to come and save the person, but it was too late.
As the demonic beast opened its massive jaws, about to swallow You You whole, she could even smell the stench emanating from it. Almost reflexively, You You unleashed a spell at the beast.
The surrounding spiritual energy surged instantly, and a white light swept over the demonic beast, as if forcibly peeling away a layer of something. With a whooshing sound, the demonic beast, which was originally covered in filth and its fur was stained with blood, was stripped clean, all its fur gone. In an instant, it was as if a fur coat had been ripped off, leaving not a single whisker behind.
The once majestic, mane-covered giant beast was instantly stripped bare, its size reduced to a size smaller, and even the wrinkles on its skin were clearly visible.
Youyou: "..."
Girl: "..."
Monster: "..."
A moment of silence fell over the scene...
Neither humans nor animals reacted in time.
Only when a cold wind blew by did the hairless beast tremble, leaving her with a terrified look, whimpering pitifully, turning and plunging into the woods, disappearing in an instant.
Youyou: "..." Shouldn't she explain?
"...You..." The girl, who had been inexplicably saved, took a while to come to her senses. "I didn't expect your magic... to be so powerful!"
"..." No, would you believe me if I said I only used a dust-removing spell? Really, she just saw that the beast was too dirty and reflexively used a dust-removing spell. She didn't even intend to shave its fur!
"It's this spell... that's a bit strange!" The girl gave her a complicated look, then suddenly seemed to remember something and said with a look of realization, "No wonder your spirit beast didn't have any fur back then, was it because you subdued it with this spell?"
"..." What spirit beast? Burning Swamp? That doesn't count, and it's already grown back, okay? Even if it's just a thin layer, it's still fur, okay? Can you please stop looking at her with that 'fur killer' look?
etc!
"How do you know I have a demon beast?" She looked at the unfamiliar girl in front of her. Why did this person act like she knew her so well?
"I saw you walking it back then," the girl replied. Seeing that Youyou still looked blank, she suddenly widened her eyes and exclaimed, "You haven't forgotten who I am, have you?!"
"Uh..." Should she know?
The girl instantly puffed up with anger, pointed at her, and stomped her foot hard, "You...you..."
You couldn't get a sniff out after all that, but Youyou glanced at her feet and suddenly had a flash of inspiration. She tentatively asked, "Wuyue?"
