Chapter 83 First Injury

Youyou brushed the snow off the stone wall and took a closer look. She then discovered some strange patterns faintly etched in the middle of the triangular gap. If she hadn't looked closely, she would have mistaken it for a crack in the stone wall. Upon closer inspection, she realized that these patterns followed a certain pattern, but she couldn't immediately figure out what they were. She could only grope around and try to figure out how to open it.

Feng Rong's expression grew increasingly grim, his hands clenching several times, and a hint of anxiety appeared between his brows. He spoke again, "These kinds of ruins are inherently complex. There must be some kind of restrictive formation at the entrance. You don't understand formations, so you definitely won't be able to open it in a short time. How about we..."

Boom...

Before he could finish speaking, and before anyone knew where Youyou had touched, the entire stone wall suddenly emitted a blinding white light. A complex magic circle suddenly appeared, and the space within the circle twisted and contracted inward, seemingly expanding something.

The entrance... is open!

Feng Rong: "..."

(⊙_⊙)

"I think it's pretty easy to drive." You You glanced back at the stunned Feng Rong, then excitedly pointed inside and said, "Let's go in!"

Feng Rong gave her a complicated look, her fingers fidgeting with her sleeve, and asked again, "You... really want to go in?"

"Why don't you go in?" Youyou asked back, noticing his unusually serious expression. "Why are you acting so strange today? Are you worried about danger inside? Don't worry, if there is, I'll protect you!" Thinking he was concerned about safety, she comforted him.

She thought he would retort and get angry, saying something like, "I don't need your protection." But to her surprise, he just glanced at her and silently flew slowly into the center of the formation.

Youyou paused for a moment, but didn't think much of it. She glanced at the formation again and wondered if it was just her imagination, but she felt that there seemed to be a trace of purple aura in the center of the formation.

The two passed directly through the formation, and in an instant, the surroundings darkened, becoming pitch black, as if they had entered another dimension. The chilling aura of the Northern Ridge vanished, replaced by an even more violent presence, and they heard a whooshing sound as if something was attacking them.

"Feng Rong!" You You exclaimed in surprise, instinctively pulling away from the person next to her and backing away. The next moment, a loud bang rang out beside them, like something being violently struck against a stone wall.

With a wave of her hand, Feng Rong instantly formed a golden defensive array, protecting the two of them in the middle. She also summoned a flame, illuminating the pitch-black space. The two of them immediately noticed a crack several meters deep on the stone wall beside them, as if it had just been cleaved open by something.

If they hadn't dodged, they would have been cleaved in two.

"What is this?" Youyou was startled.

Feng Rong examined the crack closely before replying, "It looks like it was caused by sword energy."

"Sword energy!" You You exclaimed in surprise. "Someone is attacking us?" But she didn't sense anyone else here.

"I don't know." Feng Rong shook his head, subconsciously pulling her closer to him, and said in a deep voice, "There might be danger here, don't stray too far from me."

You You nodded, cautiously looking around. He discovered that this place seemed to be an underground palace. It was built to be extremely magnificent and grand, with a rich spiritual energy, but it was also filled with a malevolent purple aura. Moreover, the underground palace was in chaos, with collapsed stone pillars and broken stone walls everywhere, looking as if it had been ransacked.

They had only taken a few steps when another loud rumble came from afar, mixed with the sound of something collapsing.

What is that? Youyou became even more nervous.

Following the only path, we walked in, turning and twisting for a long time, before finally seeing a palace-like building in front of us. However, whether due to its age or some other reason, half of the palace had collapsed, making it look like it was about to fall. The ominous aura around us was even stronger, almost enveloping the entire palace and even spreading outwards.

"This should be the center of the ruins!" Youyou looked at the palace, which was in such a state of collapse that she wondered if she could still find any teaching materials.

Just as she was about to head in that direction, several familiar whooshing sounds suddenly came again. This time she saw clearly that they were several purple sword lights flying out from the depths of the palace, slashing towards them.

Feng Rong was the first to react. With a flick of her wrist, the defensive array around her lit up again. The next moment, a loud clang was heard as the sword energy struck the defense, causing the entire array to shake and spiderweb-like cracks to appear.

"How could this be?!" Feng Rong exclaimed in surprise, seemingly not expecting the sword energy to be so powerful. The next sword energy had already descended, and a series of whooshing sounds echoed around them as vast swathes of sword energy, seemingly appearing from nowhere, rained down, attacking them relentlessly.

With a loud clang, Feng Rong's defensive array shattered instantly, and a sword aura was about to strike her.

"Feng Rong!" You You was startled and instinctively pulled him towards her, trying to dodge the sword energy. The next moment, she felt a chill on her arm, followed by a sharp pain, and warm liquid slid down her arm.

"Youyou!" Feng Rong's eyes widened as she stared intently at Youyou's arm. Only then did Youyou realize that although Feng Rong had pulled away, the sword energy had still grazed her arm, leaving a small cut about the length of a fingertip, from which bright red blood was flowing.

"I'm fine..." she explained instinctively. The wound wasn't deep, so she didn't feel much pain. She didn't know what kind of sword energy it was that could actually cut her; this was the first time since she transmigrated, and she found it strangely intriguing.

Feng Rong seemed not to hear her words, still staring intently at her wound. His hand holding her trembled slightly, and his eyes seemed to be stained red by the blood on her arm. An unprecedented rage suddenly erupted from him, completely different from his usual outbursts. His bloodshot eyes were even tinged with murderous intent.

"Dare to hurt her!" The next moment, something erupted from his body, and crimson flames, as red as blood, suddenly burst forth, frantically counterattacking against the sword energy and completely devouring it. It looked as if it was about to pounce on the palace in front of him.

"Wait! Feng Rong!" You You exclaimed in surprise, quickly pulling back the little turkey beside her, who seemed to be going berserk. "You can't burn that! Our textbooks!"

Feng Rong was taken aback, and the raging flames subsided. She turned to look at You You, her gaze falling on her arm again. She raised her hand and hovered around the wound, looking as if she wanted to touch it but dared not. The little turkey looked limp, as if she had suffered some great blow. After a while, she managed to squeeze out a low voice, "Does it hurt?"

"..." Youyou was speechless. His expression... who was the injured one? Besides, it was such a thin cut, and the bleeding had already stopped. Why did he act like he had a terminal illness?
