Chapter Fifty: The Runaway Beast

“And also…” Fenze wagged its tail even more enthusiastically, continuing to excitedly boast, “I also cleared the nearby floating rocks, purified the spring water at the top of the mountain, sent more than three hundred people up to Fufeng, and chased away four flocks of birds…”

"Great job! You're awesome!"

"When will you help me grow my fur?" Its eyes widened, filled with anticipation.

"Uh..." Youyou froze for a moment, unsure how to begin, "Well..."

"You're not going to back out, are you?!" Fenze was stunned, and the few remaining tufts of hair on his body stood on end.

"How could that be! It's just... this is a bit difficult, I haven't found a way yet." You You's promise before was sincere, but plans can't keep up with changes. Who could have predicted that "baldness" would be a problem that plagues the Three Realms? Even the books she'd read these past few days hadn't revealed a way to regrow hair. Even the most skilled healer among the Yuan family disciples had concluded that "baldness" was an incurable disease.

"Didn't you read so many books?" Fenze glared at the pile of books behind her, the beast completely exasperated. "You big liar! I don't care... you said you'd make my fur grow back, and you broke your promise? You big liar, I hate you... Waaah..."

After saying that, it flew away in tears and disappeared into the sky in no time.

Youyou: "..."

Did she raise a beast or a child?

"Your Excellency, Fenze..." Ling Qi said with some concern.

"I understand!" You You nodded. "I'll go find Feng Rong. His cultivation is high, so he should be able to help find out where it ran off to!"

The entire sect is currently busy building houses; there's nothing important going on. Besides, she was in the wrong this time, so it's understandable that Fenze was angry. However, as a high-level spirit beast, it can't be allowed to roam freely outside.

You You turned and went to find Feng Rong, who was simultaneously criticizing the palaces built by everyone for being ugly and tasteless, while also casting spells to help. Hearing her plea for help, he first glared at her coldly, then habitually said in an unfriendly tone, "Hmph! Now you remember me? Didn't you not trust me? Why are you looking for me now?"

"..." I'm still angry that she didn't tell him about her cultivation level, but she really didn't know!

Just as she was about to explain, he suddenly turned around and glared at her. "What are you standing there for? Weren't you looking for that little monster? It went east, and if you don't chase after it now, you'll never find it again!"

"..." Okay, it seems he can adjust himself without explanation.

Feng Rong waved his hand, instantly summoning a semi-transparent spirit sword, and stepped onto it. You You quickly took two steps, jumped directly onto his sword, and grabbed his waist with both hands, pulling on his clothes.

"What are you doing?!" Feng Rong was startled and instinctively tried to dodge to the side, but she couldn't avoid her hand. Instead, because of his sudden movement, You You's body fell forward, and she crashed into his arms.

His body stiffened instantly, his entire body turning completely red, like a burst tomato. "You... Yu!"

"Why are you moving around like that?" Youyou rubbed her forehead and stepped out of his arms, explaining, "I can't fly yet, so you have to give me a ride, right?" Otherwise, how can I catch up with Beast?

He glared at her angrily, then, as if remembering something, his face flushed even redder. He turned away, trying to cover his embarrassment, and said, "Hmph! You think you can even set up formations? How come you can't even fly on a sword! Stand still! I won't be responsible if you fall!"

After saying that, he mounted his sword and flew into the sky.

Youyou quickly reached out and grabbed his clothes at the waist again, pulling them tightly. It was her first time flying on a sword, and given Feng Rong's extraordinary speed, she was genuinely a little scared and didn't dare to look back.

As if sensing her nervousness, Feng Rong glanced down at her, and her deliberately fast pace slowed down. She subconsciously reached out, seemingly wanting to support her. Her palm opened and closed several times before finally wrapping around her back, loosely encircling her waist.

Hmph! He wasn't worried about her; he was just afraid she'd fall and damage his sword!

╭(╯^╰)╮

They chased her all the way to the sky above the forest before Feng Rong landed and cast a tracking spell. After wandering around the forest for more than half an hour, she finally tracked her down to a large tree.

The tree looked quite old, with lush and enormous leaves. There was a hole about a meter wide under the tree, and two meters outside the hole lay a third-tier demon beast with a bruised and swollen face and all its feathers plucked.

It was clearly dragged out of the tree hole, and the crime had just occurred recently.

Youyou looked down and sure enough, there was a white, bald ball huddled in the cave, its head buried inside and its rear end facing out, with only a bald tail sticking out.

“Little monster… Fenze…” Youyou changed her words at the last minute, tapping the tree trunk, “Alright, don’t be angry! It’s my fault for not finding the secret formula to make you grow hair. But we can’t rush this, we can look for it slowly, maybe one day your hair will grow.”

The dumpling inside the cave seemed to shift slightly, and after a while, a buzzing sound came from inside: "You big liar, you're trying to fool me again, I don't believe you!"

"Really... I didn't say I wouldn't help you!" Youyou continued to persuade, "Why don't you come out first, and we can talk about it."

"No!" it said angrily, refusing outright. "I don't want anyone to see me without fur. I'd rather die than be laughed at!"

"Who laughed at you? Nobody thought that!" Monsters naturally come in all sorts of strange shapes, and the disciples in the sect all thought that it was originally hairless.

“Yes! Yes!” Fenze said decisively, “That third-tier bird-beast just laughed at me! Waaaaah…”

Birds and beasts?

She turned her head and glanced at the little monster beside her, its feathers plucked and still twitching. Ah… so that's the reason! It's even developed a fragile heart from being bald! Speaking of which, shouldn't this bird-beast be the one crying?

"Why waste time talking to it!" Feng Rong said impatiently. "Just kick it out."

As he spoke, he formed a hand seal with one hand, and no one knew what kind of magic he was using. The next moment, there was a loud bang, and the entire tree exploded, instantly turning into a sky full of flying debris, revealing the angry little monster below.

Fenze, who was forcibly blasted out, was stunned for a moment, then his entire beast exploded. The ring of flames around his neck began to burn fiercely, and he bared his teeth at Feng Rong, saying, "Even you bully Beast Beast, I'll bite you to death!"

"Oh?" Feng Rong's face turned cold, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Try it!"

Suddenly, something seemed to be released from his body. Fenze felt a sudden jolt in his heart and was overcome with a great sense of panic. His paws went limp and he collapsed to the ground with a thud, his small body trembling uncontrollably.

This aura is...so terrifying!
