The entire stone chamber contained only a platform, upon which rested a small tray with a black bead emanating from it. Above the bead, a shadowy figure floated, dressed in black. He was somewhat ugly, with a face pockmarked like the surface of a moon, and appeared to be fast asleep with his eyes closed.
"This is... an inner core!" Xiao Man exclaimed in surprise.
"What inner core?" You You was taken aback and asked, not understanding.
“This is the inner core of a demon immortal!” Xiao Man explained. “Demon immortals are different from us mortals who ascend to immortality. After ascending and cultivating to become immortals, the inner core in their bodies still exists. It contains the demon immortal’s life’s cultivation, so generally speaking, demon immortals of the same cultivation level are more powerful than mortal immortals.
