Chapter 13: Sister Liyue gently lulls the child to sleep, while the sickly Master Xiao falls ill again.

night

In the spacious and bright room on the third floor, Xiao Wujie had already finished washing up.

He was wearing a cream-colored, high-quality silk robe, sitting back on the soft, comfortable bed, looking somewhat sleepy.

Already physically weak, after a day of exertion, my body was somewhat exhausted. I felt very tired and wanted to close my eyes and rest.

He has always been particular about his bed, and after only a few days of getting used to the bed in Harbin, he was back in the capital. He was extremely tired but found it difficult to fall asleep.

Just then, a knocking sound rang out on the door.

It's undoubtedly Chu Liyue!

Although there are quite a few rooms on the third floor, only two bedrooms are habitable.

One room was Chu Liyue's own room, and the other was the room next to hers that was reserved for Xiao Wujie.

According to Ai Ruoman, this room was reserved for him when Liyue Manor was first built, and even though no one has lived there for so many years, it is cleaned regularly.

Upon hearing this, Xiao Wujie also mustered his spirits and said softly, "Go in."

As the door creaked open, Chu Liyue walked in carrying a steaming cup of milk.

She wore an exquisite black silk nightgown, the flowing lines of which followed the contours of her body, perfectly outlining her graceful figure while exuding elegance and mystery.

A black ribbon is gently tied into a bow at the waist, accentuating the slender waistline and adding a touch of charm and allure.

She looked like she had just finished washing up, with a slight steam rising from her body and her slightly damp long hair draped over her shoulders, giving her a relaxed and casual air.

She sat gracefully by the bedside, her deep, beautiful eyes gazing at Xiao Wujie, and said softly:

"Can't sleep, is that it?"

Smelling the pleasant rose fragrance emanating from her, Xiao Wujie nodded slightly, his expression a little weary.

"I still can't sleep in the same bed as before."

Xiao Wujie was taken aback upon hearing this, only then remembering that the character Xiao Da Lao in his novel also had a habit of not being able to sleep in a particular bed.

While writing this book, I unintentionally incorporated a lot of my real-life experiences.

The original Xiao Wujie was very similar to himself in another time and space in many ways.

Chu Liyue placed the warm milk she was holding in front of him and said softly:

"Drink your milk first, it'll help you sleep. Lie down and get some sleep, I'll stay here with you."

Xiao Wujie took the milk in front of him in a daze and drank it all in one gulp.

Then he lay down on the bed, his eyes slightly glazed as he gazed at her breathtakingly beautiful face, which was stunning even without makeup.

Chu Liyue took the empty cup he had finished drinking from, rinsed it clean, poured some water for him to rinse his mouth, and carefully covered him with the blanket, tucking the corners in. Seeing him staring blankly at her, she spoke up to remind him:

"Close your eyes!"

The moment Xiao Wujie closed his eyes, he felt a pair of soft, smooth hands gently massaging his head and eyes.

Under that comfortable technique and pressure, he felt his mind go blank for a moment, and his drowsiness intensified.

He couldn't help but want to open his eyes to see her, but all he heard was her low, mellow, soothing voice:

"Sweetie, sleep well."

She fell asleep in a little while.

Enjoying the comfortable massage and listening to the deep, magnetic soothing voice in his ear, he gradually felt unable to lift his eyes, slowly entering a state without realizing it, and soon completely lost consciousness.

Chu Liyue heard his breathing gradually become more even, moved her fingers to his temples and continued to press gently, quietly watching him.

His face was as if it had been meticulously sculpted by an artisan, with three-dimensional and deep features, and even in his sleep, his stunning beauty was undeniable.

Thick eyelashes, like two small fans, gently covered her tightly closed eyelids, trembling slightly with her even breathing.

Her jet-black hair was scattered on the pillow, casual and slightly messy, adding a touch of untamed and natural beauty to this serene scene.

Feeling the warmth emanating from the boy's delicate skin beneath her palm, Chu Liyue felt a genuine sense of security.

These exquisitely beautiful and fragile flowers did not wither and die amidst blood as in the nightmare, but instead truly returned to my side.

Looking at his peaceful and beautiful sleeping face, Chu Liyue unconsciously slowed her breathing, afraid of disturbing this tranquility and beauty.

Recalling the events of her dream, her expression became complicated, her deep, beautiful eyes filled with indescribable emotions.

She didn't know how much time had passed, but only when she was sure Xiao Wujie was completely asleep did she stop what she was doing and quietly leave the room.

next day

Chu Liyue got up early and gently pushed open a corner of the door. Seeing that Xiao Wujie was sleeping soundly, she didn't disturb him and let him continue sleeping.

After instructing the kitchen to prepare Xiao Wujie's favorite breakfast, he hurriedly left.

After getting up and having breakfast, Lu Zhufeng saw that the pretentious woman had been scrolling through DY's pager so much that her eyes were almost blurry, but she still hadn't gotten up, so he decided to go check on her.

Then, in a terrifying moment, she discovered that the man lying on the bed was curled up under the covers, his eyes closed, his breathing heavy, and the instant her hand touched his forehead—

He knew he was probably doomed.

With trembling fingers, she dialed Chu Liyue's number, her voice shaking uncontrollably:

“Miss Chu…”

"Master... seems to be sick..."

noon

With a series of hurried "tap-tap" sounds of women's high heels hitting the ground, Chu Liyue, dressed in a white shirt and a lake-blue pencil skirt, her long legs encased in thin, delicate white silk, strode in.

Perhaps she had walked too fast, because her long, straight black hair was slightly disheveled by the wind.

At this moment, Xiao Wujie was lying on the bed receiving an IV drip with a needle in his hand. Due to exhaustion, he had fallen asleep again.

He glanced at Xiao Wujie lying on the bed, then turned his gaze to Lu Zhufeng, who had been guarding the bedside.
