When Xiao Wujie and Chu Liyue stepped out of the tent, Chu Nanfeng, Leng Ruxue, and Shi Feng, along with the rest of the camp, had already arrived.
A God elite, covered in blood, stood before Shi Feng, his chest heaving, breathing heavily, and his eyes filled with lingering fear.
"It's a monster, it must be the monster we encountered during the day."
“There’s more than one. They’re hiding in the thick fog, and they attack suddenly, so there’s no time to react.”
Suppressing the fear in his eyes, he still explained the situation in a deep voice.
How many people have been killed?
Shi Feng's eyes narrowed slightly, his expression darkening considerably, and he asked.
"Of the two teams that stayed behind, I'm the only one left."
If his teammates hadn't risked their lives to protect him, he probably wouldn't have been able to escape.
Shi Feng frowned slightly and couldn't help but sigh.
The initial group of five to six people remained behind, but before even reaching their destination, they had already lost more than ten people, which was certainly not good news.
Seeing Chu Liyue leading Xiao Wujie out of the tent, he immediately went to Chu Liyue and briefly explained the situation.
"It's estimated that the monster broke free from Mr. Xiao's ice and found its way here by following the river and the lights."
After explaining the situation, he also shared his conjecture.
"It could also be other newly attracted monsters."
Leng Ruxue, who was yawning and looking sleepy next to Chu Nanfeng, couldn't help but retort after hearing Shi Feng's words.
As Leng Ruxue spent more and more time with Xiao Wujie and they became more and more familiar with each other, Xiao Wujie's image in Leng Ruxue's heart changed from a handsome young man to an all-powerful and beautiful younger brother.
In her memory, apart from Vito Rosso, the unexpected clone, Xiao Wujie had never made a mistake.
She was the first to disagree with Shi Feng's immediate questioning of Xiao Wujie's abilities.
Pretty younger brother is very reliable, okay?
Shi Feng, being an experienced man, instantly understood the implication in Leng Ruxue's words and quickly spoke respectfully:
"I have the utmost respect for Mr. Xiao's abilities."
"Given the depth of this section of the river and the availability of food, three such monsters are already the limit; it is insufficient to support more monsters of this size."
"Moreover, this monster is incredibly strong, and it's not entirely impossible that it could break free by chance."
Having stated his own guesses, he didn't forget to add a shrewd remark:
"Of course, these are just my old, foolish opinions and should not be taken seriously."
Ignoring Shi Feng's flattering words, Chu Liyue turned her gaze to Xiao Wujie, who was being held by her and was deep in thought.
"Sweetie, what do you think?"
Slightly regaining his composure, Xiao Wujie coughed lightly, pressing his fist to his lips, and spoke softly:
"What Elder Shi said makes sense, but it's probably difficult for that monster to break free of the ice so quickly on its own..."
After saying that, he couldn't help but turn his gaze towards the depths of Old Black Mountain.
Some people should have already noticed their presence; they're quite quick...
With a slight movement of her eyes, Chu Liyue suddenly focused her gaze on the front and said, "Everyone, take ten steps back and get ready."
"Xiaoxue, use the flamethrower, set it to the highest setting."
As the cold, authoritative voice fell, everyone tensed instantly, slowly retreating and staring directly into the thick fog ahead.
Brilliant flames shot out from the muzzle of the gun, sweeping forward like a giant fire serpent, and tents were gradually ignited as the flames surged past.
The area ahead quickly turned into a sea of fire, and the thick fog began to dissipate as the surrounding air temperature rose.
Three enormous shadows suddenly appeared in the sea of fire, followed by several deafening roars.
The next second, the ground suddenly shook, and three huge shadows leaped in the sea of fire.
"Bang bang bang," the guns in everyone's hands roared.
Having learned from the daytime experience, everyone equipped their submachine guns with Leng Ruxue's specially made shimmering bullets.
Beams of light shot out from the gun muzzle, heading straight for the three enormous shadows in the sea of fire.
Leng Ruxue couldn't help but shout from the side, "Shoot accurately, it's very expensive."
Each streak of light bullets struck its target precisely, and the three enormous shadows in the sea of fire instantly let out mournful roars.
The giant, gaping maw emerged first from the sea of fire, followed by three enormous bodies leaping out. These were the three monsters that had appeared in the river during the day. One of them had been blinded in one eye by Leng Ruxue, its single eye glaring angrily, displaying its wild and ferocious nature.
They opened their enormous mouths, spitting out disgusting saliva, and roared deafeningly. Flames scorched their hard, smooth scales, causing them to fall off instantly.
Due to the immense penetrating power of the projectiles, many of their scales fell off, and thick, bright red blood gushed out.
It slammed its front paws into the ground, creating cracks, and charged at the crowd with a fierce roar, ignoring the rain of light bullets raining down on it as its scales fell off and flesh flew everywhere.
Xiao Wujie, who was prepared, had a glint in his eyes. With a loud bang, the huge invisible wall of energy collided violently with the three-headed monster that looked like a madman.
The three-headed monster's body was instantly sent flying backward, crashing to the ground with a deafening sound.
Xiao Wujie couldn't help but tremble, his face suddenly turned pale, and a trickle of blood spilled from the corner of his mouth.
"My sweet baby!"
Chu Liyue, who had been holding him, exclaimed in surprise. A hint of panic appeared in her usually calm and cold eyes, and her voice betrayed her anxiety.
"My darling, how are you?"
He forced down the metallic taste rising in his throat, then placed his cool hand on Chu Liyue's slender hand that was wrapped around his waist, and spoke words of comfort:
"Sister, I'm fine."
He couldn't help but glance at the monster struggling and thrashing on the ground. "Something's wrong with this thing. It's much stronger than it was during the day."
