Chapter 203 Crossing the River

The once tranquil moat has been transformed into a kingdom of Deadpools in the blink of an eye.

A glint of light suddenly appeared in all the Deadpool's empty eyes, and then they turned their gaze to the people crossing the river.

Almost instantly, everyone felt a chill run down their spines, a cold sensation shooting straight to the top of their heads.

The next second, a chilling aura swept through, and the azure ice layer instantly spread out.

Xiao Wujie, who had already appeared on the opposite bank of the river, squatted down, surrounded by a chilling aura. One of his hands, with its distinct knuckles, covered the surface of the river, and endless cold air burst forth from beneath his hand.

"Don't hesitate, cross the river quickly!"

With a glint in his eyes, Xiao Wujie's clear, cold voice boomed in everyone's ears, instantly bringing the stunned crowd back to their senses.

His pupils dilated violently, and before he could even wipe the cold sweat that had covered his forehead, he immediately steered the raft at full speed along the waterway that Xiao Wujie had deliberately left behind.

The chill around him surged again, and Xiao Wujie couldn't help but frown slightly.

The moat was too large, and the number of Dead Servants was too terrifying. Even with his spare capacity, he could not freeze them for too long and could only try to delay them as much as possible.

"careful!"

Just as he was about to increase the intensity of his spell, the people crossing the river shouted at him in a panic.

A whooshing sound came from behind as several masked men in black, wielding long swords, charged straight at Xiao Wujie.

Xiao Wujie instantly stood up, his fair and jade-like hand reaching out, an invisible wall of energy shooting out, casually blocking the attacks of several men in black.

However, the men in black did not hesitate to move forward again, surrounding Xiao Wujie and not giving him the opportunity to protect everyone.

As Xiao Wujie's freezing technique briefly froze the entire hive of dead servants, everyone had already entered the moat in their rafts and sped towards the other side.

The people at the very front were only a few steps away from getting ashore.

Suddenly, the sound of ice cracking rang out, and cracks appeared on the ice covering most of the river surface, continuing to spread.

With roars emanating from beneath the ice, the ice shattered in the next instant.

The seemingly endless Deadpool broke free from his icy confinement, his crimson, chilling gaze instantly locking onto the group crossing the river.

A chaotic, sharp, and deafening roar echoed through the mountains and fields, as the river teemed with death servants, their bodies twisting as they rushed toward the crowd.

"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"

A barrage of projectiles rained down like a meteor shower, exploding Deadpool's head and splattering thick, dark green blood—a truly spectacular sight.

But the Deadpools on the river surged like waves, one after another. Soon, some Deadpools with tough enough bodies braved the hail of bullets and rushed to the raft, their twisted hands gripping it tightly.

It twisted its body and roared as it tried to climb onto the raft.

The people on the ship had to divert their remaining energy to clear out the Deadpools that were getting close to the ship.

Just as this force dispersed, a large number of Dead Servants rushed towards the raft, clinging tightly to the hull and making it impossible for the raft to move even an inch.

Just then, gunshots rang out from the shore, and a hail of bullets swept towards Deadpool, who was holding onto the obstacle preventing the raft from moving forward.

"Increase firepower to cover the troops in the rear."

Shi Feng's aged and majestic voice rang out, and the first group of men he led had already reached the other side.

Chu Nanfeng casually killed several Death Servants who tried to approach, his sharp gaze sweeping across the field.

Completely different from his usual calm and lazy demeanor, his aura at this moment was like a sword drawn from its sheath, so sharp that no one dared to look him in the eye.

The hem of his trench coat billowed in the wind, and his sharp gaze grew even more serious.

He, Chu Liyue, and Shi Feng each led one-third of their troops across the river. The first third of the troops, led by Shi Feng, had already successfully crossed the river.

His second wave of troops was already close to the shore, but Chu Liyue's third wave of troops had only just reached the middle of the moat.

The relentless horde of Dead Servants surrounded them, making it nearly impossible for them to advance even an inch. Meanwhile, the firepower from the shore couldn't reach their location, making the situation extremely dire.

Looking towards the nearby shore, a cold glint flashed in his eyes, and Chu Nanfeng shouted:

"Everyone, half provide cover, the other half get out the ropes and get ashore quickly!"

As the shouts fell, the first few men threw out ropes, grabbed onto protruding objects on the shore, and, under the cover of fire from behind, leaped into the air and soared toward the shore.

Seeing that the plan was proving effective, Chu Nanfeng quickly reached out and pulled Leng Ruxue, who was standing next to him in a state of shock.

At this moment, Leng Ruxue had one foot inside the raft cabin and the other on the edge, holding a submachine gun that was two-thirds her height.

The submachine guns roared and exploded, bullets spraying out of the muzzles like scattering flowers, each shot hitting Deadpool's head.

To date, no Deadpool has been able to get within five meters of her.

Noticing someone pulling her, she didn't stop moving her hands for a moment. Her small face, stained with specks of dark green blood, turned slightly to the back. Her voice was sweet, but her words were fierce.

"Handsome guy, get to the point, what's wrong...?"

"Hey, don't hold my hand, it's getting in the way of my headshots."

Chu Nanfeng's lips twitched slightly, and he was momentarily speechless.

How come such a delicate-looking girl can be so fierce when she fights?

He coughed lightly, then spoke earnestly:

"Little sister, follow the people in front and get ashore first. Don't waste time here."

Upon hearing this, Leng Ruxue stopped what she was doing, elegantly tossing her long golden hair, while also keenly catching some subtle details in Chu Nanfeng's words.

"And what about you?"

Aren't you coming up with me?

Chu Nanfeng was stunned for a moment upon hearing this, and then a warm feeling welled up in his heart. Was she concerned about him?

He was slightly dazed, and the corners of his mouth couldn't help but twitch slightly, but he quickly concealed the emotions in his eyes and turned to look behind him.

"The situation in Liyue isn't good. You go first, I'll stay and meet her up."

"Don't worry about me, you go up first. Once I've picked up Liyue, I'll be there soon."

Seeing Chu Nanfeng's slightly gentle gaze upon her, Leng Ruxue's eyelashes trembled slightly, and she scratched her head as if somewhat embarrassed.

"I just felt like I didn't get enough of killing monsters, so I wanted to get a few more headshots."

Chu Nanfeng's expression froze...

I sat up in shock from my deathbed, and realized it was still me, the clown.

I was being presumptuous.

His face darkened, and Chu Nanfeng gritted his teeth. "Fine!"

"Get ashore first. There are enough Deadpools in this river to blow your head off. It would be great if you could blow them all off."

She awkwardly scratched her cheek with her fingers, and Leng Ruxue couldn't help but chuckle dryly, "Yeah, that's true."

"Okay, I'll be going now."

With that, she tossed her long hair, leaving Chu Nanfeng with a dashing and resolute back view.
