In a room with a cold, snow-white hue
Lin Qingyi, dressed in an exquisite cheongsam, sat gracefully by the bedside, her three slender fingers resting on her delicate, porcelain-white wrists, which were as white as snow.
Leng Ruxue's petite body was completely hidden under the blanket, with her chin and below covered, only her head showing.
Looking at Lin Qingyi, whose face was as calm as still water, a subtle evasiveness was hidden in her watery eyes, and her eyelashes, wet with water droplets, trembled slightly involuntarily.
Lin Qingyi lowered her eyes slightly, taking in everything, but her expression remained unchanged.
After a long while, she gently withdrew her finger, gazing at Leng Ruxue with a faint look, without uttering a word.
Leng Ruxue avoided her gaze for a moment, awkwardly using a light cough to cover up her unease.
"Sister in green, why are you looking at me like that?"
Am I very ill?
Lin Qingyi simply lowered her head, her expression indifferent, "It's heavy in some ways, but not heavy in others."
Her apparent knowledge of everything, coupled with her seemingly veiled meaning, made Leng Ruxue even more uneasy.
Her little hands involuntarily gripped the corner of the blanket, and after several glances away, she finally looked tremblingly at Lin Qingyi, her voice, tinged with a nasal tone, trembling slightly.
"Sister Qingyi...do you know something?"
Lin Qingyi remained calm and composed, her voice undisturbed.
"Why did Ru Xue hide herself completely under the covers?"
Leng Ruxue's eyes trembled for a moment, and a misty fog seemed to well up in her eyes. Her voice trailed off, tinged with a sob.
"Sister in green, you know, don't you?"
"Don't tell anyone, especially not the boss, okay?"
Lin Qingyi's calm gaze flickered slightly, but her expression remained unchanged. "Then stop hiding under the covers and sit up to talk."
She bit her lip lightly before Leng Ruxue, her eyes trembling, lifted the covers and sat up.
When Lin Qingyi's gaze fell upon the bright red and even purplish marks that spread from her neck down to her chest, she knew she had guessed correctly.
She was equally intelligent and observant, so how could she not notice Leng Ruxue's various unusual behaviors?
With a slightly complicated expression, Lin Qingyi hesitated before speaking, "Ru Xue, you..."
But before she could speak, she was interrupted by Leng Ruxue, whose eyes were filled with tears and whose gaze was trembling.
She knelt on the soft bed with her knees bent, crawled to Lin Qingyi in a few quick movements, grabbed her arm, and begged for mercy in a pitiful voice.
"Sister Qingyi, please don't tell anyone, and especially don't tell the boss, okay?"
Please!
"The boss will be angry if he finds out, and he'll abandon me!"
Large tears streamed down her face as Leng Ruxue pleaded with Lin Qingyi while casting her red, tear-filled gaze toward Chu Wan behind her.
"Sister Wan, please don't tell anyone, okay?"
"You know, the boss hates dirty and shameless people the most, she'll hate me."
Having suffered torture and abuse at the hands of Vito Rosso, Lin Qingyi was very empathetic to her feelings and couldn't help but reach out her slender arms to pull her into her embrace.
His palm gently stroked her sobbing, trembling back, following the curves of her long, golden, curly hair.
Her tone was gentle as water, carrying an almost maternal tenderness.
"Ru Xue, this is your privacy, and I shouldn't pry into it."
"But the way you look is really worrying."
"I respect your privacy and will not tell anyone."
"But you have to believe that Sister Chu is not such an unreasonable person. If it is consensual, it is your freedom, and I believe she will not blame you."
"But if... you've been bullied, you should tell her, otherwise you'll only make her more worried."
Leng Ruxue cried so hard in Lin Qingyi's arms that she couldn't catch her breath and couldn't speak. She could only nod repeatedly.
A hint of pity flashed across Lin Qingyi's eyes. She didn't say anything more, just let her vent her emotions, gently stroking her back with her hand.
After a long while, she felt a slight weight on her shoulders.
Seemingly exhausted from crying, Leng Ruxue gently rested her head on her shoulder, closed her eyes, and breathed heavily.
He seemed to be sleeping restlessly, mumbling something incoherently, and his body occasionally trembled slightly.
Lin Qingyi gently placed her back on the bed, carefully pulled the blanket up for her, tucked the corners of the blanket in, then packed her medicine box and quietly left the room with Chu Wan.
Outside the room, Chu Liyue wore a miniature earphone, her figure elegant and aloof, her gaze extremely cold and deep, and the air pressure around her was so low it was suffocating.
Beside her, Xiao Wujie's eyes flickered slightly, and he gently wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, his clearly defined chin resting lightly on her shoulder.
"Sister, don't get angry. Let's figure things out first."
Her long, curled eyelashes slightly lowered, concealing the emotions in her eyes. Her warm palms gently covered Xiao Wujie's slightly cool hand, stroking it lightly as a gesture of comfort.
His gaze met Lin Qingyi and Chu Wan as they emerged from the room. He composed himself, his usually cold and aloof demeanor softening, and spoke softly:
"How is the situation?"
Lin Qingyi sighed and pondered, "Physically, it's the fatigue from the long journey and the emotional ups and downs that caused the fever."
"It's mainly an emotional issue..."
"It's clear that she has something she's having trouble saying."
She nodded slightly, and after Lin Qingyi had walked away, her cold eyes darkened, and she coldly instructed Chu Wan beside her:
"Investigate her whereabouts last night. Don't miss anyone she came into contact with besides us."
The phrase "people other than us" made Xiao Wujie raise an eyebrow slightly.
When Chu Liyue left that evening, as she led him back to their room, she hesitated for a moment before secretly taking out her phone to send a message to Chu Nanfeng.
