Chu Nanfeng gently scooped up the little girl who was crying uncontrollably in her sleep, pulled the blanket over her petite body, held her in his arms, and gently stroked her back.
After leaving Chu Liyue's room, he quietly approached the window of Leng Ruxue's room.
Through the crack in the window, he saw the little girl curled up in bed asleep, but she seemed to be sleeping very restlessly, her brows furrowed and muttering something indistinctly.

Seemingly sensing someone touching her, the little girl squirmed more restlessly in his arms, rubbing her face against his broad chest anxiously.
The next second, her eyes, brimming with tears, suddenly opened.
Her eyes, reflecting Chu Nanfeng's handsome face, were misty, as if she hadn't quite come to her senses yet, and she couldn't help but murmur twice:
"Handsome brother, I'm sorry."
Chu Nanfeng unconsciously tightened his grip on her arm, his dark, deep eyes revealing a profound depth beneath which churned unseen emotional waves.
As the haze in her eyes gradually faded, Leng Ruxue looked up at Chu Nanfeng's handsome face with its clear contours and distinct features, and felt the real warmth emanating from beneath her. She instantly came back to her senses.
She instinctively wanted to push him away, but the tall Chu Nanfeng gripped her waist tightly, his deep black eyes fixed on her, and he spoke in a low, hoarse voice:
Do you hate being hugged by me?
Meeting his gaze, which was filled with complex emotions and seemed to show a clear hint of sadness, Leng Ruxue quickly shook her head in denial.
Chu Nanfeng held her tightly, his deep and gentle gaze seemingly able to penetrate Leng Ruxue's heart.
The deep, hoarse voice in her ear, "That's fine then," seemed to possess a special magic that soothed people, making Leng Ruxue forget to struggle for a moment.
She looked at Chu Nanfeng, her brows furrowed with anxiety, "How did you get in? The boss will find out if you do this!"
Chu Nanfeng gently touched the tear stains at the corner of her eyes and calmly replied, "He climbed in through the window."
"It's two in the morning. She's already asleep with Xiao Wujie in her arms. She won't find me."
Having anticipated her next question, Chu Nanfeng answered first, "No one else noticed me either."
Leng Ruxue visibly relaxed a little, but before she could come to her senses, Chu Nanfeng asked her:
"Why are you apologizing to me?"
For the first time, Leng Ruxue felt such sharpness and pressure under Chu Nanfeng's usually easygoing and lazy gaze. She instinctively answered truthfully:
"I just felt that you were a really good person, and it was I who seduced you into making a mistake..."
