Chapter 284 Cloud Ink at Dusk, Police Investigation

Zhongxiu: The sky is heavy with leaden clouds, and a cold wind howls.

On the street, opposite the police station, two figures, one tall and one short, silently appeared under a large tree.

Chu Wan wore a plaid coat, her long, thick, seaweed-like hair cascading down her back. She held a cup of hot Americano and took small sips, her beautiful eyes gazing quietly at the police station across the street.

Behind her, the short Yunmo, holding a cup of hot milk, peeked out, her porcelain-white face slightly puffed out, her eyes darting around.

It was 4:30 PM.

People started coming out of the police station across the street as they finished get off work.

He took another sip of the fragrant hot milk and casually tossed the empty paper cup into the nearby trash can.

He slightly raised his head to look at Chu Wan, who was quietly sipping her Americano. His eyes flickered, and he tiptoed, gently tugging at Chu Wan's arm, his small mouth slightly open:

Ah~

"Sister Wan, you should try some."

Chu Wan's beautiful eyes flickered slightly. She squatted down, gently blew on the hot coffee in her hand, and offered it to Yun Mo's lips.

With a slight movement of his Adam's apple and a hint of happiness in his slightly narrowed eyes, Yunmo took two small sips of the hot coffee in Chuwan's hand.

After finishing the drink, her pretty face scrunched up, and she stuck out her tongue slightly. "It's so bitter, it doesn't taste good."

Chu Wan reached out and gently wiped away the milk and coffee stains from the corners of his mouth. She took out a milk candy from her coat pocket, peeled it, and put it into Yunmo's mouth.

Yunmo not only likes to drink milk, but also likes to eat milk candy. He usually keeps a few in his pocket on Chuwan night.

The sweet milky flavor melted in her mouth, and Yunmo happily squinted her eyes and opened her arms.

"Sister Wan, give me a hug."

Chu Wan dropped her coffee cup, lifted him up by his bottom and waist, and Yun Mo immediately wrapped his legs around her waist, put his arms around her neck, and gently rubbed his cheek against hers.

"Sister Wan, the temperature has dropped so quickly, aren't you cold?"

Chu Wan hugged him, letting him nuzzle her affectionately, and whispered in response, "It's okay."

Her eyes flickered slightly, and she asked, "Are you cold?"

Yunmo looked up at her, her eyes sparkling, and nodded with a light laugh, "I'm cold, can you warm me up?"

Chu Wan nodded immediately, gently patted his calves that were tightly wrapped around her waist, and pulled out her coat to wrap him up.

The warmth, carrying her fresh scent, enveloped Yunmo. Yunmo's eyelashes trembled slightly, her eyes flickered, and she murmured softly in a low voice:

"Hello, Sister Wan."

Yunmo's gaze swept over Chu Wan's ears, which were reddened by the cold wind. He immediately rubbed his slightly cool hands together and placed them over Chu Wan's delicate ears.

"I'll help Sister Wan cover up too."

Their breaths mingled together, and warmth formed a circle that spread, making today seem less cold.

A subtle smile appeared on Chu Wan's delicate face, and Yun Mo's cheeks flushed slightly as he buried his face in Chu Wan's neck.

After a while, Yunmo turned his head and looked at the police station. It was deserted. Apart from the necessary staff, everyone who was supposed to stay had left.

Chu Wan also looked at him, and said, "You can go in now."

When Yunmo met her deep, beautiful eyes, her face began to flush. She hooked her arm around Chu Wan's neck, lowered her head slightly, and her eyelashes trembled slightly. Her eyes were filled with shyness and embarrassment, as if she wanted to look at Chu Wan but was too embarrassed to do so.

After his eyes darted around for a while, he spoke as softly as a mosquito:

"Wan... Sister Wan, can I not go down?"

I kind of like being hugged by Sister Wan.

Chu Wan hugged him and nodded.

His eyes lit up instantly, and his porcelain-white face flushed even more. After hesitating for a moment, he stammered softly:

"Sister Wan, are you a little tired?"

Chu Wan's gaze was calm as she shook her head. "It's very light, not tiring."

"Really?"

Unable to contain her joy, Yunmo exclaimed in surprise, but when she met Chu Wan's calm and beautiful eyes, she felt a bit embarrassed, as if she had been caught red-handed. A blush spread across her face to the tips of her ears, and Yunmo immediately buried her face in Chu Wan's arms.

Mosquito sound: "Sister Wan is so kind."

With a flick of her wrist, she drew an obscure silver symbol in the air. As the light flashed, the two figures instantly merged into the air, becoming transparent and invisible.

Peeking at the car, Chu Wan carried him across the road and calmly walked into the police station.

There were quite a few people staying at the police station or working overtime. People would get up and walk around from time to time, occasionally brushing past the two, but no one noticed.

With her small hands wrapped around Chu Wan's neck, Yun Mo quietly pointed out the way to Chu Wan, while Bei Shan pulled up a diagram of the police station's internal structure, which he had memorized beforehand.

Now, I walk around the police station with ease, and in no time, I arrive at the morgue.

The room had a chilly, gloomy atmosphere, and the door was tightly closed, clearly indicating that no one was there.

Chu Wan hugged Yun Mo and slipped inside without any hindrance, as if she were invisible.

Inside the morgue, rows of corpses lay neatly on the morgue beds, covered with white sheets.

After getting off Chu Wan, Yun Mo muttered to himself, "Old Lu is really something. He didn't even find out which bed he was in before sending someone over with just a photo."

Chu Wan's pretty face remained calm as she glanced around the room. Then, she leaped up and covered the security camera with a black handkerchief.

Then he rolled up his coat sleeves and was about to step forward to lift the shroud and examine and identify each body.

Yunmo quickly grabbed her hand, "Sister Wan, I'll do it, you don't need to help."

As he spoke, a glint of light flashed in his eyes as he looked at the corpses covered with shrouds.

A simple clairvoyant technique is perfectly suited for this situation.

Yunmo held Chuwan's hand and moved between the mortuary beds, examining them one by one. He was short, only slightly taller than the mortuary beds, so when he examined them, he stood on tiptoe and held onto the edge of the beds with both hands, which was somewhat comical.

After a long while, he gripped the edge of the bed with both hands and suddenly exclaimed in surprise, "Found it, Sister Wan!"

He instinctively pulled Chu Wan's hand, looked up at her, and his gaze suddenly froze.
