Chapter 291 Gu Junci's motives are impure; Xiao Wujie falls into the trap?

The sky was filled with thick, leaden clouds, giving off a somewhat oppressive atmosphere.

Amidst the howling cold wind, a few specks of chilly white snowflakes drifted by.

Wearing a black suit, Lu Zhufeng walked down the corridor and lightly wiped his face. He stared at the tiny snowflake on his fingertip and was momentarily lost in thought.

It's going to snow.

Looking up at the sky thick with cumulus clouds, tiny white specks could be faintly seen drifting down.

He stood there, motionless.

Several men dressed as waiters silently emerged from around the corner of the corridor, slowly approached him, and surrounded him.

The sound of something cutting through the air, followed by the sudden sounds of fists and feet striking.

A moment later, the waiters exchanged glances and then scattered and fled.

Watching them flee, Lu Zhufeng's eyes were indifferent, and he sighed helplessly.

"If you're going to lure the tiger away from the mountain, you can't be more skillful."

With a grumble, he moved swiftly, randomly choosing a fleeing waiter and following him at a leisurely pace.

On the other side

Xiao Wujie sat leaning against the headboard, his handsome face pale and bloodless. He coughed lightly with his fist to his lips, revealing his sickly and haggard appearance.

Looking up at Gu Junci, who was dressed exquisitely and sexily as he pushed open the door, he raised his eyebrows slightly, almost imperceptibly.

Her slender high heels tapped rhythmically on the ground, and when she met Xiao Wujie's gaze, a beautiful smile appeared on her delicate face.

A fragrant breeze wafts towards you, carrying a carefully blended, high-end perfume. The scent is captivating yet not overpowering, subtly permeating your nostrils and inexplicably enchanting you.

She placed the bouquet of flowers beside the bed, pulled up a chair, and sat down gracefully, exuding a mature and intellectual charm. She lightly brushed her long, wavy hair behind her ear and chuckled softly.

Are you feeling any better?

Xiao Wujie adjusted his collar slightly, a polite smile on his handsome, pale face, a hint of amusement hidden in his eyes.

In a relaxed tone, whether intentionally or unintentionally, she said, "Sister Gu is very concerned about my health."

Gu Junci elegantly placed his hands on his lap, his tone carrying an almost genuine apology:

“You were staying in my private residence when you were attacked and fell ill from the cold. I have an inescapable responsibility for this.”

Xiao Wujie coughed softly twice, a smile playing on his lips. "What? Does Sister Gu want to give me some kind of compensation?"

Gu Junci lowered his gaze slightly and said softly, "Whatever compensation you want, as long as I can give it to you, that's fine with me."

Xiao Wujie's tone rose slightly: "I see..."

Gu Junci met his gaze, his eyes revealing an unreadable expression, and his voice was soft and low, "Mm."

The conversation abruptly shifted, and Xiao Wujie said indifferently, "I lack nothing, so I don't need Sister Gu's compensation. Thank you for your kindness, Sister Gu."

Gu Junci seemed to pause for a second, but only for a moment, before his expression returned to normal, and he replied flawlessly:

"It's alright. If you need anything in the future, just let me know. I'll do whatever you ask."

His chest trembled slightly, emitting a low cough, and Xiao Wujie asked calmly:

"What brings you here so suddenly, Sister Gu?"

"Nothing much, I just came to visit you."

Xiao Wujie leaned against the headboard, his fingers interlaced, and said calmly, "Thank you for making this trip, Sister Gu. I feel much better now and I'm fine."

Gu Junci lowered his gaze slightly, remained silent for two seconds, and said softly, "I see you've been coughing, let me get you a glass of water."

As she spoke, she picked up the kettle from the bedside table, lightly touched the glass with the ring on her finger, and poured a glass of warm water for Xiao Wujie.

With a gentle smile on her lips, she handed the water glass to Xiao Wujie.

Xiao Wujie took the water glass, gently stroking the inside of the glass with his fingers, his gaze lowered, and took a sip of water in front of her.

Gu Junci stood up gracefully and said softly, "You're not well yet, so I won't bother you any longer. Get well soon."

With that, he stepped out the door under Xiao Wujie's indifferent gaze.

She quietly closed the door, but didn't leave. Instead, she stood by the corridor window, gazing out with a deep, enigmatic look in her eyes.

After a while, she took out her phone and checked the time.

He then turned around and walked back to the door, gently pushed it open, and stepped inside.

In the room, Xiao Wujie leaned against the headboard, his face as usual, his eyes closed, as if he were asleep.

She gently lifted the hem of her coat, sat sideways on the edge of the bed, and gazed at Xiao Wujie's handsome face, momentarily lost in thought.

She took a deep breath, grabbed the neatly folded down jacket from the bedside, and pulled Xiao Wujie's arm to help him put it on.

She suddenly threw off the blanket, picked up his thin and frail body, and carried him outside.

There wasn't a single waiter in the huge hotel. She carried Xiao Wujie away without any hindrance, put him in the car, and drove off.

Unseen by her, upstairs in the hotel, Lu Zhufeng stood behind a glass window, holding up his phone, took a picture, and sent it to Chu Liyue.

Gu Junci sat in the driver's seat, steadily controlling the speed, and drove away from the hotel.

She had set the car's air conditioning to a high temperature, and the unconscious Xiao Wujie was laid flat on the back seat, his face serene and calm.

Gu Junci drove for a long time before finally parking the car in a deserted suburb.

Looking through the rearview mirror at Xiao Wujie in the back seat, he still had his eyes closed and seemed completely unconscious.

She looked away, got out of the car, opened the back door, bent down and climbed into the car, sitting sideways on the edge of the back seat.

Staring at Xiao Wujie's face for a long time, her gaze struggled slightly before she took out a miniature camera from her coat pocket and pressed it against the car ceiling.

The camera was flashing a faint red light, its lens pointed directly at Xiao Wujie.

She took a deep breath and slowly took off her fox fur coat.

Beneath the coat, she wore only a low-cut camisole. As the coat was removed, large expanses of her snow-white skin were exposed to the air, and an alluring fragrance emanated from her.

The air inside the car was instantly filled with a strong, sensual, and ambiguous atmosphere.

A flush of burning red appeared on her fair face. With gritted teeth, her fingers trembled slightly as she unzipped Xiao Wujie's down jacket, took it off, and threw it onto the front seat of the car.

Her fingers gripped the front seat tightly, a struggle welling up in her eyes. She stared at Xiao Wujie for a long time, but he didn't react.

She gritted her teeth and reached behind her head to remove the shark clip, letting her thick, long curly hair fall down.

Then, her fingers touched the buttons on Xiao Wujie's shirt collar, her body trembling slightly, and she slowly leaned down to Xiao Wujie's face.

Just as their faces were about to touch, Xiao Wujie suddenly opened his eyes.
