When Chu Liyue returned to her office, Xiao Wujie, wearing sunglasses and with his shirt sleeves rolled up, was setting out the dishes for her.
Hearing the noise, he slightly raised his face, a faint smile curving his bloodless, pale lips:
"Sister, did I disturb your work?"
Chu Liyue shook her head, quickly walked to his side, hooked her arm around his waist, pulled him into her embrace, and gently stroked his lower abdomen with her palm.
Her gaze swept over the lunchbox on the table, a warm and tender look flashing across her usually cold eyes. She hugged him tighter and gently coaxed him:
"Sweetie, you need to rest more. You don't need to do this kind of thing."
Xiao Wujie shook his head gently, his voice low and soft, revealing his weariness: "I've been sleeping for too long, I'm not feeling well, I want to see my sister."
His gaze swept over Chu Liyue's slender, beautiful legs, clad in stockings, through his sunglasses, and his long eyelashes trembled slightly like butterfly wings.
He wanted to sit on her lap and be hugged by her.
Chu Liyue's gaze seemed to pierce through his sunglasses, precisely capturing his thoughts. She leaned back on the sofa, stretched out her arms, and spoke with a coaxing, indulgent tone:
"Sit down if you want, sweetie, come up yourself."
Xiao Wujie lowered his head slightly, bit his lower lip, hesitated for two seconds, then turned over and straddled her lap.
Chu Liyue took the opportunity to pull her arms around his waist, pressing their bodies tightly together.
She reached out and gently cupped Xiao Wujie's head, her fingers threading through his hair to lightly massage it. Her full, red lips gently brushed against the sensitive spot on his earlobe, her voice filled with the ultimate maturity and doting affection:
What are you afraid of?
Are you afraid I won't hug you, or afraid I'll annoy you?
"Your older sister likes to hold your baby, and you can hold him anytime you want."
The fragrant, hot breath spread across the sensitive skin of her earlobe, and Xiao Wujie's ear tips instantly flushed a hot, light red. Amidst the trembling and tingling sensation in his heart, he couldn't help but reach out and encircle her neck, gently burying his face in her neck.
Chu Liyue held him, her palm teasingly and affectionately stroking his back, her eyes filled with tenderness and bitterness.
She could certainly sense the caution in Xiao Wujie's demeanor.
Having the truth out doesn't mean the hurt she caused him can be healed.
She needs to work even harder to completely restore her precious child to their former self.
Under her gentle, controlled caresses, Xiao Wujie quickly went limp in her arms. Just then, Chu Liyue's soft voice suddenly came:
"Sweetie, your sunglasses are digging into your sister."
Xiao Wujie tensed instantly, about to stand up, but Chu Liyue pressed him back down. Her slender, white fingers touched his sunglasses, trying to coax him:
"I want to hug you again, can you take off your sunglasses?"
Xiao Wujie instinctively shrank back, his thin lips pursed, clearly showing his resistance, but because it was her, he was unwilling to resist.
Chu Liyue placed her other hand on his neck, teasingly pinching it, and coaxed him in a low, cold, and gentle voice:
"Ai Ruoman is guarding outside; no one will come in."
"It's just you and me, okay? Take it off, it's not ugly."
"Your sister wants to see you, hmm?"
Especially that last "hmm," the cool, mature woman's voice, with its slightly upturned, doting tone, was like a hook that lured Xiao Wujie away.
She coaxed him like a drunken kitten, and without thinking, he gave a soft, low "hmm."
But the moment his sunglasses were taken off, his long eyelashes trembled, and he instinctively turned his head to try to hide in her arms.
Chu Liyue reached out and cupped his head, her lips lightly touching the small scar at the corner of his eye, gently coaxing him:
"It's okay, it's just a little bit, it's not ugly."
While coaxing him, she gently pressed her lips against his dry, thin lips, and as they rubbed together, her tongue followed suit, passionately entwining with his.
In just a moment, Xiao Wujie was so captivated by her kiss that he went limp in her arms, letting her caress him as she pleased, no longer caring about the scars.
After a long while, Xiao Wujie rested his head weakly on her shoulder, his eyes filled with tears, and he breathed heavily.
A hint of a smile appeared in Chu Liyue's eyes as she gently stroked his lips with her fingertips, soothingly whispering:
"Don't be afraid, baby, it can be cured."
"When you have your second surgery, I will have Ye Jinyu use a reagent to help you get rid of it."
"I've already had someone make a simulated skin layer for you. Once it's done, just stick it on to cover it up, and no one will be able to see it. Just bear with it, it'll be fine soon."
Xiao Wujie wrapped his arms around her slender waist, pressed himself against her chest, and nodded in a daze with hazy eyes.
After a while, Xiao Wujie's eyes regained their clarity. He sat up from Chu Liyue's arms as if suddenly realizing what was happening and hurriedly pointed to the insulated lunchbox on the table.
"Sister, hurry up and eat, it'll get cold soon."
As he spoke, he rolled off Chu Liyue's lap and reached out to open the lunchbox.
The presentation was very simple: white rice topped with two dishes, one meat and one vegetable, and a bowl of egg drop soup on the side.
Feeling that it was a bit simple, Xiao Wujie said embarrassedly, "I've been a little... weak these past two days. I'll make more for you, sister, once I'm better."
The vegetables were washed by Leng Ruxue and cut by Yunmo. He cooked them without letting the manor's chefs interfere at all.
Due to time constraints and the fact that he couldn't stand for long, he could only do simple tasks.
If the drooping willow branches on the shore brushed against the still lake surface, Chu Liyue's deep, cold eyes would be stirred into a storm.
Her gaze was so intense it seemed to want to meld him into her very bones. She silently stroked the silver ring on her finger, and spoke in a hoarse voice:
"What my sweetie makes, I love."
Xiao Wujie was stung by her gaze, a faint blush rising to his pale cheeks. His eyes darted away as he picked up the lunchbox, speaking softly and slightly embarrassedly:
"I...feed my sister."
Chu Liyue's deep gaze was almost fixed on him, her slender arm resting loosely on his thin shoulder, letting out a low, cold hum.
Xiao Wujie had been asleep for two years and was having trouble eating after just waking up.
He watched her eat, afraid that she would feel uncomfortable, so he chose to feed her.
The wind was gentle, and Chu Liyue's hair fluttered slightly across her forehead. Her eyes reflected Xiao Wujie's face, and the sunlight shone into them, making them bright and heartwarming.
Chu Liyue ate all the food Xiao Wujie brought, including the soup, without wasting a single drop.
When she washed her hands and came out of the bathroom, Xiao Wujie, who was leaning against the sofa, had long eyelashes that trembled slightly and obvious weariness between his brows.
Chu Liyue slipped her hands under his legs, picked him up horizontally, and carried him into the lounge.
She gently placed the sleepy Xiao Wujie on the bed, lightly brushed aside her long, flowing hair, and gracefully lay down beside him.
Xiao Wujie was so confused that he was delirious. As soon as she reached out her arms, he snuggled into her embrace like a cat that had found a warm nest.
He wrapped his arms around her waist and gently rubbed his cheek against her heart.
"elder sister……"
Chu Liyue gently patted his back with her palm and coaxed him softly in a low voice:
"Sweetie, I'm here. Go to sleep."
A soft, comfortable hum escaped his throat, and Xiao Wujie quickly nestled in her arms and fell into a deep sleep.
His thin lips moved slightly, and he mumbled "sister" all he could hear.
Chu Liyue hadn't held him while sleeping for a very long time. Her arms were resting on his head, and after only a moment, she felt numb and lost all sensation.
But she couldn't bear to let go even a little. Her fingertips traced his eyebrows and eyes, and she felt his warm breath on her neck. Her eyes suddenly welled up with tears.
It's wonderful that he's back by her side.
