Chapter 435 Xiao Wujie Goes Blind

Xiao Wujie has gone blind.

It came extremely suddenly.

When he woke up in the morning, his vision was blurry. He thought he was still half asleep, so he staggered and groped his way into the bathroom.

He washed his face countless times, but the more he washed, the blurrier his vision became.

He realized something, reached out and touched the wall, and slowly moved forward little by little.

As he slowly rubbed his hand against the door, it was knocked twice. Before he could react, the door was pushed open.

Lu Zhufeng came to wake him up. He was strong, and before the door was even opened, he felt something hit him. Then, with a "bang," someone fell to the ground and groaned in pain.

Chu Liyue went to the laboratory early. There was only Xiao Wujie in the room. He was startled. He pushed open the door and saw Xiao Wujie lying on the ground, supporting himself with his arms and struggling to sit up.

What are you doing?

"You didn't answer when I knocked, and when I opened the door you didn't even bother to hide?"

Lu Zhufeng grumbled and complained, then quickly bent down to help him up.

"Move around a bit, are you alright?"

Lu Zhufeng helped him up and reminded him. After a few seconds of pause, he raised an eyebrow strangely and reached out to touch his face.

Am I... that handsome today?

Xiao Wujie remained silent, his gaze fixed on him.

"You pretentious jerk, I know I look handsome today, but don't look at me."

"I already have Manman, I won't take a second wife."

Xiao Wujie blinked blankly, tightened his grip on Lu Zhufeng's arm, and whispered, "Lu Zhufeng."

His voice was hoarse and trembling slightly, which made Lu Zhufeng stop his rambling.

He frowned slightly, looking at Xiao Wujie, and finally noticed something was wrong.

Three minutes have passed since he opened the door and came in, and Xiao Wujie has been staring at him the whole time, only blinking once in the middle.

This is highly illogical. Normal people blink every three to five seconds. Xiao Wujie is clearly not playing around with him now, so why is he staring at him for so long without blinking once?

Moreover, Xiao Wujie's eyes, which were usually bright, seemed strangely empty today.

Lu Zhufeng stared intently into his eyes, his gaze sharpening, and said softly, "You pretentious jerk, what's wrong with you?"

As he spoke, he deliberately raised his hand and waved it in front of Xiao Wujie's eyes.

The waving hand formed a clear reflection in his eyes, but his gaze remained devoid of any sparkle or change.

Lu Zhufeng's pupils suddenly contracted: "You can't see me?"

Xiao Wujie gripped his sleeve tightly, his eyelashes trembled slightly, and his throat tightened.

He indeed couldn't see Lu Zhufeng.

Only a blurry outline could be vaguely seen, swaying extremely slightly in front of my eyes.

The next second, his legs left the ground, and Lu Zhufeng suddenly picked him up and placed him on the bed, his voice filled with obvious panic.

"Don't move, just sit here, don't move at all."

"Wait, I'll go get help."

He walked quickly and rushed out of the room.

Less than two minutes later, a series of footsteps sounded again at the door.

Xiao Wujie's eyelashes trembled slightly, and as his nose twitched, the familiar scent of roses wafted towards him.

He instinctively reached out his hand, calling out, "Sister!"

The bedside sank slightly, and a warm, familiar embrace enveloped him. He suddenly tightened his arms, hugging the slender waist.

His vision was blurry, but guided by instinct, he leaned his head into her arms.

Suddenly, a warm, smooth hand pressed against his forehead, gently caressed his cheek, and slowly guided his face towards her shoulder.

"I am here."

The moment the low, cold voice rang out, Xiao Wujie's eyes suddenly stung, and his voice trembled with a faint sob:

"Sister, you've come."

A soothing pat on the shoulder, a soft touch on the lips, "It's okay, I'm here."

Xiao Wujie looked up to reach her lips, his body tense, his eyelashes trembling as if he were desperately seeking comfort.

Now he truly realizes that there is something wrong with his eyes; he can't even see his sister anymore.

Chu Liyue hugged him, gently stroking the back of his head and back with her palms, and kissed his pale lips tenderly.

Only when Xiao Wujie's body gradually softened did she release his lips, letting him lean on her shoulder as he breathed heavily, her fingers stroking his scalp.

The room was filled with people, including Lu Zhufeng, Ye Jinyu, Yun Mo, Chu Wan, and even Lin Qingyi, who was testing the medicine.

Their eyes were filled with shock, but they dared not utter a sound. They had only found it hard to believe when they heard it from Lu Zhufeng, and now that they had seen it with their own eyes, they felt a chill in their hearts.

They were all intelligent people. Xiao Wujie's blindness could not be a coincidence. The reason was easy to guess; it was most likely that his health had deteriorated further.

Chu Liyue gently coaxed Xiao Wujie in her arms, but her eyes were as dark and unyielding as the night.

Ye Jinyu only said that Xiao Wujie might gradually lose his five senses, but she didn't expect it to happen so quickly.

She lowered her head again and gently kissed Xiao Wujie's trembling eyelashes, coaxing him in the softest voice, "Be good, let Ye Jinyu take a look at you."

Xiao Wujie immediately hugged her tighter, habitually looking up at her, but his eyes were blank, and he spoke in a trembling voice:

"Sister, don't go..."

Chu Liyue wrapped her arms around his waist, gently stroking his abdomen, and said softly, "I won't leave, I won't leave."

She gave Ye Jinyu a look, and Ye Jinyu pulled up a chair and sat down by the bed, trying to keep her voice gentle: "Don't be nervous, I'm just doing a simple check-up, she doesn't need to leave."

As he spoke, he pressed his fingers against Xiao Wujie's eye sockets and waved his hand lightly in front of his eyes, but there was no reaction.

He immediately grabbed a medical flashlight, gradually increasing the brightness, and shone it into Xiao Wujie's empty eyes.
