Chu Liyue was not in a hurry to lead everyone away.
When the heart is dead, everything is empty. The gloom of Xiao Wujie's two-year coma had finally dissipated, but now his condition is deteriorating rapidly, making everyone's hearts feel like they are being suffocated in cold water again.
The darkness has not yet dissipated, and undercurrents are surging.
Everyone in the manor, including her and Xiao Wujie, needed to adjust their mindset and focus on making the final move.
So she and the others abandoned everything and stayed in the mountains for three days.
Watch the sunrise and the moonset.
Listen to the cicadas chirping, hear the birds singing.
A gentle breeze caresses my face, and my worries lightly rise.
The stream meanders gently, flowing with poetic charm.
Although all of this could not alleviate Xiao Wujie's pain and worsen his condition, it did bring a lot more smiles to his face and his condition visibly improved.
So much so that after he returned to the manor, he gradually lost his sense of taste and smell. He was inevitably sad, but he no longer showed signs of collapse.
Sunlight streamed onto the manor's pristine white corridors. Xiao Wujie, covered with a blanket, lay quietly on a rocking chair, his brows furrowed and his face serene.
On the stone platform ahead, Lu Zhufeng and Yun Mo sat facing each other, leisurely eating sunflower seeds.
Yunmo sat cross-legged, her porcelain-white face glowing in the sunlight. In front of her was a cardboard box, where she politely spat out sunflower seed shells.
"Hey Lao Lu, can't you have any manners?"
"Couldn't you find a trash can or an ashtray to put the shell in?"
Lu Zhufeng crossed his legs, leaning against a stone pillar in a carefree manner. Three buttons on his shirt were loosely undone, and he cracked sunflower seeds with a loud popping sound. With a flick of his head, the sunflower seed shells fell all over the ground.
"When has he ever shown any manners?" Xiao Wujie placed his hands on his stomach, closed his eyes, and scoffed softly.
Lu Zhufeng looked at Yun Mo as if he were an idiot: "Yeah, have I ever been polite?"
After Yunmo was speechless, he glared at her, but before he could speak, Lu Zhufeng interrupted him: "I know, you must be thinking that I will tell Master's wife later."
"If it were your fussy teacher, I would be the one telling my sister~"
As he spoke, he rolled his eyes and said, "I'll be sweeping later. What do you take me for?"
"Nobody treats you like a human being, don't overthink it." Xiao Wujie's long, feather-like eyelashes fluttered, his tone indifferent.
Lu Zhufeng's face turned pale, and he was about to curse when a soft, indifferent voice suddenly rang out:
"Hehe, how relaxing."
The moment the voice fell, Lu Zhufeng and Yun Mo tensed up, their hair standing on end, and they stepped in front of Xiao Wujie to protect him, looking toward the source of the voice.
Along the corridor, shadows spread silently, and the sunlight spots were eroded and swallowed up at a visible speed.
A faint, eerie black-purple aura swirled around, forming a sinister figure. Dressed in black with snow-white hair, her face was pale, and a sinister smile played at the corners of her lips, casting a chilling shadow over the entire corridor.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Three gunshots rang out suddenly. Lu Zhufeng held up a revolver, and bullets sprayed from the muzzle.
A purple light flashed in Aisie Hall's eyes. With a flick of her long fingers, which were covered in alluring black nail polish, she sent several sunflower seed shells flying. Suddenly, they were wrapped in streaks of purple light and shot out.
A faint scraping sound filled the air as the purple-glowing melon seed shell, sharp as a blade, cleaved the bullet in two and continued its violent trajectory toward Xiao Wujie.
Yunmo reacted swiftly, unleashing a wind blade that slashed down the opponent.
"I advise you to check your master's condition before firing."
Lu Zhufeng quickly turned around and looked at Xiao Wujie. Sure enough, he saw that Xiao Wujie's brows were furrowed and his face showed pain.
"He has lost four of his five senses, and his only remaining sense of hearing is his ability to perceive the outside world, which makes him exceptionally sensitive."
"If you fire a few more shots, I'll be fine, but he'll probably die from tinnitus and headaches."
Aisie Hall raised an eyebrow and let out a low, sly laugh.
Lu Zhufeng tightened his grip on the gun handle and growled, "Yunmo, take your teacher and go find your master's wife."
Aisie Hall's curly silver hair cascaded down her forehead. She brushed it aside with her long fingers and chuckled eerily, "Don't waste your energy. I used a little trick. You won't be able to leave for now."
Lu Zhufeng and Yun Mo exchanged a glance. Yun Mo's eyes narrowed, and several wind blades were slashed out in all directions.
After flying a distance with a whooshing sound, the wind blades suddenly hit an obstacle and stopped, with specks of purple light appearing and intertwining to form a wall in front of them.
The wind blade struck it like a pebble falling into water, creating a few ripples before dissolving in the blink of an eye.
Yunmo's face stiffened, and he gritted his teeth and said, "She used a strange technique to isolate this space. I can't beat her, and I can't break through it."
Lu Zhufeng's brows furrowed, his fists clenched silently, and his tall, strong body was taut like an arrow ready to be released.
"Damn it, you poisonous bitch, when I was chasing you all over the world with a gun at my side, you didn't dare utter a single fart with your head between your legs."
"Now that you've caught your breath, you're no longer a donkey with your tail between your legs?"
Aisie Hall's smile faded, replaced by a cold, raised eyebrow: "You've only ever chased after your subordinates. When have you ever found any trace of me?"
Lu Zhufeng was determined to vent his anger: "Then you deserve to die even more! Your men are almost all dead, and you're still acting like a grandpa lying in a cradle—playing the grandson!"
"They were blind to have followed you, you poisonous old woman!"
A chilling and terrifying atmosphere permeated the air, causing the temperature in the corridor to drop noticeably. The solemnity in Lu Zhufeng and Yun Mo's eyes almost materialized.
"Don't be so nervous, it's just an avatar. She doesn't have the guts to come here in person."
"This one clone of hers can't defeat you."
Lu Zhufeng raised his eyes, just about to breathe a sigh of relief, when he heard Xiao Wujie continue calmly, "Even if she has hidden tricks up her sleeve, she will only use them on me, not on you."
A black line appeared on Lu Zhufeng's forehead. He turned around and roared, "Shut your stinking mouth!"
Aisie Hall, with her hands folded in front of her, slowly stepped forward, a faint, sinister smile on her face: "He speaks much better than you, and..."
As she walked, a chill rose in her eyes: "He's right about everything."
Just as Lu Zhufeng and Yun Mo were on high alert, she flashed with light and appeared directly beside Xiao Wujie.
"Don't move."
As Lu Zhufeng and Yun Mo turned around, Aisie Hall's fingers, wreathed in purple light, and her eerie black nails touched Xiao Wujie's brow.
Lu Zhufeng and Yun Mo's pupils constricted instantly, and they dared not move.
Aisie Hall chuckled softly, glancing back at the still-lying Xiao Wujie, and said in a chilling tone:
What does it feel like to lose your four senses? Is it worse than death?
Xiao Wujie closed his eyes, his face calm and expressionless: "No need for you to worry about it."
A purple light shimmered at the corners of Aisie Hall's eyes, making her both alluring and terrifying. Her voice was chilling and seductive: "If you're living such a painful life, what's the point of living at all?"
"Once you lose all five senses, you are no different from a dead person. When you are dead, you have no consciousness. But you can clearly feel that you are alive, but there is only yourself, no her, and no one else."
Xiao Wujie listened and said indifferently, "Why don't you help me get rid of this?"
A fierce glint suddenly flashed in Aisie Hall's eyes. "That's exactly what I'm thinking."
Her fingers suddenly fell.
