Chapter 6: A Sudden Attack – Is Xiao Wujie a Weakling with No Power to Cure a Chicken?

Upon hearing the sounds coming from the private room, the previously lively atmosphere suddenly became completely silent, so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Is this some kind of price gouging?

Five times the original price?

I was wondering when the big shots upstairs would make their move, and when they did, it was something else!

Rich people really know how to have fun!

Just as everyone was stunned and hesitant about whether to follow, another oppressive voice came from the upstairs private room, which immediately broke their guard.

"One billion."

Okay! That's how the pros play!

Poverty has limited my imagination!

Despite their inner complaints, many people simply shrugged and then watched the battle with great interest.

After all, their combined wealth is only a few billion or tens of billions, and it's not worth going bankrupt for an imperfect amnesia reagent.

Furthermore, the big shots upstairs have already made their move, and the battles that follow are probably beyond their level to participate in. It's more interesting to watch the big shots fight like gods.

After all, they were genuinely curious about what price this newly developed amnesia reagent would ultimately fetch.

Upon hearing this, Xiao Wujie, who was inside the private room, smiled slightly, revealing a kind and amiable expression.

That smile made Lu Zhufeng's eyelids twitch.

Usually, when Xiao Wujie shows such a smile, someone will suffer misfortune, either losing their head or having their entire family wiped out.

With the shout of "billion," most of the people below fell silent and stopped making moves; the battle shifted upstairs.

"1.2 billion".

"1.5 billion."

"1.8 billion".

"Three billion!"

At this moment, Xiao Wujie made another bid, and once again, the entire room fell silent as soon as he spoke.

In public, especially among prominent figures, it was inconvenient to use foul language.

So everyone was speechless!

The people in the upper-level private rooms also fell silent at this point, not because they were unable to continue, but because continuing would be somewhat pointless.

After all, the current amnesia reagent is still imperfect. Since that place was able to release this one vial, it is probably in preparation for a larger output in the future. There will be plenty of opportunities in the future.

But they have no idea that the mysterious place will be destroyed by accident in the near future, and this forgetting reagent will become the only one left in the world.

Of course, that's all hindsight. Just as the bidders were hesitating about whether to continue bidding, a detached voice rang out:

"Five billion."

The voice was the one that shouted "ten billion," and Xiao Wujie recognized it immediately. He raised an eyebrow, and his smile became even more pronounced.

Is it about having more money?

What a coincidence!

He's really, really poor, almost all he has left is money.

He immediately spoke calmly:

"Ten billion."

Upon hearing this, everyone, both upstairs and downstairs, was stunned.

This medicine is worth at most around 3 billion, how did it suddenly become 10 billion?

Is this how you really play the game of money?

At this point, apart from the mysterious bidder, no one else had any intention of bidding. The price was really unnecessary; it was just a matter of whether that person would continue to bid.

They were also curious: in this battle of two titans, would it be the lavish spending of Master Xiao from Ice City, or the victory of the mysterious tycoon?

Amidst everyone's anticipation, the mysterious bidder spoke up again, unhurriedly:

"15 billion."

Xiao Wujie followed closely behind with utmost composure.

"Two hundred billion."

"Two hundred and fifty billion."

Five hundred billion!

When Xiao Wujie uttered the word "50 billion," time seemed to stand still for a moment.

Everyone unconsciously slowed their breathing; the entire place was eerily quiet, as if even the sound of air flowing could be heard.

To be honest, most of the people present had never seen what 50 billion yuan in cash looked like.

It must have been a spectacular sight!

The mysterious bidder seemed to be taken aback by the price and fell silent for a moment.

The beautiful auctioneer calmly spoke up:

"Five hundred billion, once."

"50 billion, twice."

"Five hundred billion, three times."

Perhaps the price was too outrageous, because the mysterious bidder did not bid again.

Upon seeing this, the beautiful auctioneer immediately announced:

"Congratulations to this gentleman for winning the Forgetfulness Reagent for 50 billion."

"This auction has now come to an end. Thank you for your participation. Please leave in an orderly manner."

As the sound faded, everyone began to leave. Xiao Wujie, however, was not in a hurry to leave. He gently pinched the bridge of his nose, his face showing a hint of weariness.

The auction started in the early hours of the morning and lasted for three or four hours. Coupled with the not-so-quiet atmosphere, he felt somewhat tired.

After everyone had left and the amnesia reagent was handed to him, he rested for a while, exchanged a glance with Lu Zhufeng, and then got up and left.

In the long corridor, several bodyguards followed behind him, one of them carrying the clothes he had photographed, while Lu Zhufeng led the way.

The amnesia reagent was placed in a box, which Xiao Wujie held in his hands personally.

As they got closer to the end of the corridor, their pace seemed to slow down.

The moment Xiao Wujie stepped out of the corridor, the sound of wind breaking suddenly rang out.

A man in a black suit suddenly appeared out of nowhere, his hands in a grabbing stance, and rushed straight towards Xiao Wujie with lightning speed.

Almost at the same time, Lu Zhufeng flew over and kicked away the black-clad man who was about to approach Xiao Wujie.

At this moment, several more people dressed like him rushed out, and Xiao Wujie's bodyguards quickly swarmed forward.

Since prohibited items were not allowed to be brought in, and neither side had any weapons, a chaotic fight broke out.

Xiao Wujie leisurely retreated to the side to avoid being caught in the crossfire and calmly observed the battle situation.

These attackers were highly skilled and well-coordinated, and his bodyguards were quickly overwhelmed.

If Lu Zhufeng hadn't single-handedly held off half the troops, they probably would have been defeated long ago.

Seeing that the battle was at a stalemate, a man in black seized an opening and, with the help of his companion, freed his hands to suddenly rush towards Xiao Wujie.

Lu Zhufeng tried to stop them, but the men in black held him back.

The black-clad attacker was overjoyed at this sight, his eyes gleaming with excitement as he clenched his hand into a claw and aimed straight for Xiao Wujie's throat.

What puzzled him was that this sickly man, who couldn't even kill a chicken, merely glanced at him casually, his face completely calm and composed, showing no sign of panic.

But he didn't have time to think too much. Could a sickly man who was barely clinging to life possibly rebel?

Meeting Xiao Wujie's calm gaze, just as his hand was about to reach Xiao Wujie's throat, he suddenly felt a momentary dizziness.

When he came to his senses, a fair and slender hand grabbed his wrist.
