Haijing Bay is located on the coastline of China and is one of the few near-sea areas in the capital city.
Its harbor is wide and deep, and its terrain is flat. In addition, it is located in the capital city, which serves as its economic hinterland.
Its unique natural and social conditions made it one of the important gateways to the capital.
The area where land and sea meet has been transformed into a huge seaport, with countless cargo ships coming and going every day, creating a spectacular sight.
The Gu family, the last of the four great families in the capital, rose to prominence because they controlled the entire Haijing Bay. From an insignificant family, through the efforts of several generations, they became the fourth most powerful family in the capital.
As night fell, the darkness, like a giant black curtain, enveloped everything in this sea area.
Tonight, Haijing Bay is no longer the bustling city it once was, with its rows of lights and cargo ships coming and going. Instead, it has fallen into a dark and desolate silence.
The night was as dark as ink, and the black seawater shimmered faintly under the moonlight, like a ghostly waterway guiding a cargo ship silently into this sea area.
The cargo ship's hull was mottled and its paintwork blurred, almost blending into the night. Only the occasional flash of light could outline its massive silhouette.
The sea breeze, carrying a salty, damp scent, mingled with the faint sounds of distant city noise, rushing towards us.
The cargo ship's deck was deserted, with only a few seagulls occasionally flying by, their mournful cries echoing in the night sky, making it seem like a ghost ship abandoned by everyone.
The scene on the dock contrasted sharply with the tranquility of the sea.
A group of plainclothes figures moved about in the shadows, using eye contact and gestures instead of normal conversation, and each of them appeared extremely vigilant.
The ship's engine noise gradually subsided, and with the gentle rocking of the hull, it slowly approached the designated berth.
As the cargo ship gradually came to a stop, a man dressed in black and wearing a baseball cap stepped out of the shadows.
He glanced around and then made a phone call.
Immediately afterwards, several inconspicuous trucks quietly drove into the dock area and parked not far from the cargo ship.
Several people got off the vehicle, quickly set up the loading and unloading equipment, and began waiting for the people on the cargo ship to open the hatch.
A few minutes later, the hatch slowly opened, revealing the outline of the cargo ship's interior.
The interior of the cargo ship was dimly lit, and for a moment only the mountains of cargo could be vaguely seen.
Several tall men in plainclothes emerged from the cabin. Their movements were swift and practiced, clearly indicating that this was not their first time carrying out such a mission.
They quickly inspected the loading and unloading equipment on the dock and began directing the cranes to slowly lift the first container.
This container is different from the others; it has special labels on its surface with blurry barcodes and codes printed on them.
Clearly, these codes and barcodes contain special meanings and information.
The people who disembark from the cargo ship are responsible for opening the containers and taking out specific packages, which are then carefully handed to the people next to the truck who are responsible for receiving the goods.
The person receiving the goods carefully checked the codes on the packages and neatly arranged them into the truck.
No one spoke during the process; everyone carried out their tasks methodically, and the entire unloading process proceeded exceptionally smoothly.
As time ticked by, more and more packages were transferred to the truck.
The night deepened, the harbor grew even quieter, and the distant city lights became blurred. Only the occasional sound of waves broke the eerie silence.
Finally, when the last package was placed, the person in charge closed the truck bed.
Several trucks were lined up neatly, but showed no sign of leaving.
Suddenly, a sound came from inside the cargo ship again, which sounded like the creaking of the deck being trampled on.
Then, rows of tall figures dressed in black civilian clothes walked out of the cabin, like a black torrent surging into the narrow dock passage.
Each of them wore the same sunglasses and headsets, and carried a gun. They filed out of the cabin in a steady and uniform manner, like a well-trained army.
It took almost ten minutes for everyone to disembark from the cargo ship.
A dense black sea formed on the dock, stretching as far as the eye could see and almost without end.
They all had cold and stern faces and powerful auras. Thousands of them stood together without appearing chaotic at all, and even their breathing seemed to be in unison.
A man with a sinister face stepped out from among them and stood at the very front of the line.
His gaze swept around, a smug smirk playing on his lips, and he chuckled softly:
"Boss Chu, I've brought my brothers all this way by boat from afar, and you haven't even shown your face?"
At that moment, a large number of figures surged in the darkness far from the port.
In a short while, Chu Feihong and Gu Hengsheng, surrounded by a large number of bodyguards, came into his view.
Looking at Chu Feihong's haggard face and the barely concealed listlessness emanating from him, he couldn't help but smirk wickedly:
"Alright, Mr. Chu, I was wrong."
"It's a miracle that you can still walk in your condition."
This time, Chu Feihong didn't remain silent; instead, a mocking smile appeared on his lips.
"My injury will heal eventually, what about yours?"
The man's smile froze instantly upon hearing this, his face darkening in a flash. His eyes darted around for a moment before he coldly spoke:
Shut your stinking mouth!
"And you better not lie to me! Otherwise..."
He didn't finish speaking, and his voice was no longer as wicked and unrestrained as before.
"Hmph! Why would I need to lie to you? Whether I lie or not, how much time do you have left to wait?"
