As the dawn broke at nine o'clock, a ray of sunlight silently squeezed into the room through the gap in the curtains.
Golden light, like a delicate paintbrush, slowly extends into the depths of the room.
As the light spread, the entire room was bathed in a warm and soft gold, as if everything was basking in gentle beauty.
With a creak, the door was gently pushed open.
Dressed in a business suit, Chu Liyue kicked off her high heels, lowered her voice, and sat down on the edge of the bed.
Xiao Wujie was still asleep on the bed, tightly hugging a pillow that had been sprayed with the same perfume she wore.
Sunlight danced gently on his face, making his delicate skin appear even smoother in the morning light. His long eyelashes trembled slightly, creating a scene so beautiful that one couldn't bear to disturb it.
Because he hadn't fully recovered, Xiao Wujie had been feeling rather sleepy these past two days. Chu Liyue was worried about him sleeping day and night alone at home, so she decided to slack off and leave work early to come home.
Quietly gazing at the boy's beautiful sleeping face, her fingers gently traced his eyebrows and eyes.
She wanted time to stand still at this moment, to make this beautiful moment eternal.
After a while, she gracefully got up and went into the dressing room.
When she came out, she had changed into a sexy and comfortable black halter dress and was wearing flip-flops.
Although it was already May and the temperature in the capital was quite warm and comfortable, Xiao Wujie always had cold hands and feet when he slept alone.
The sun was shining brightly today, and she wanted to take him out to get some sunshine and fresh air.
She tried to remove the pillow she had tucked into his arms when she left that morning, but he held on tightly and wouldn't let go. He mumbled something indistinctly and then turned his back to her, as if afraid someone would snatch the pillow from his arms.
Seeing this, she couldn't help but chuckle.
So she's being ignored?
She could only lift the covers, pull him into her arms, slip her fingers inside his clothes, and gently scratch the sensitive spots on his waist. She showered his earlobe with delicate kisses, her voice low and seductive.
"Sweetie, let go, I'm right here!"
Are you sure you want to hug it but not me?
The itch from his sensitive spot made him unconsciously twist his body a few times. Feeling the familiar warmth and scent of Chu Liyue, he quickly let go of the pillow in his hands.
He wrapped his arms around Chu Liyue's slender waist, pressed his face against her chest, and unconsciously rubbed against her.
Seeing this, Chu Liyue smiled, gently stroked his hair a few times, then picked him up and carried him out, heading towards the back garden.
Outside, the sky was a clear, bright blue, and the sunlight was gentle and bright.
It was late spring and early summer, and the air throughout the manor was filled with a faint fragrance of flowers.
In the back garden, all kinds of flowers are blooming in competition, vying for beauty.
Roses, wild roses, peonies, and other flowers cluster together, their colors vibrant—red like fire, white like snow, and pink like the sunset—creating a dazzling sea of flowers.
Chu Liyue carried the still unconscious Xiao Wujie to the parasol in the center of the flower sea, and with a slightly lazy air, she embraced Xiao Wujie and leaned back in the large, comfortable rocking chair.
A gentle breeze was blowing, and she lightly stroked the back of Xiao Wujie's head with her palm, feeling his warm breath gently spraying on her neck. She gazed intently at the blue sky and sea of flowers outside.
She also wanted to hold onto the fleeting years and let time stand still at this moment.
But the body of the person in her arms, already riddled with wounds, was like a ticking time bomb, ready to explode at any moment and obliterate all the beauty before her.
She will be setting off for the far north in the next few days, determined to retrieve reagent number three by any means necessary.
God is a gathering place for the most extreme geniuses and madmen. Xiao Wujie has never been interested in what they study, and she doesn't want Xiao Wujie to get involved in this mess.
Moreover, the extreme north is a harsh and cold place with poor living conditions. Given Xiao Wujie's physical condition, it was absolutely impossible for her to take him there.
Retrieving the No. 3 reagent from that group of morally ambiguous, half-genius, half-madmen is no easy task. She doesn't know how long this trip will take; it could take anywhere from half a month to almost half a year.
Looking at the person in her arms clinging to her with such dependence, and knowing that they were about to set off, she didn't know how to start the conversation.
As her thoughts were wandering, she felt the person in her arms move.
Looking down, she saw his head gently nuzzling against her chest, his eyelashes trembling. He seemed to be unable to bear the bright light outside, his brows furrowed and his eyes squinting in discomfort.
Chu Liyue quickly covered his eyes with her hand to help him relieve the stimulation of the light from outside.
When she felt it was about time and lowered her hand, she saw him with droopy eyelids, and he suddenly asked:
"Sister, is it already dark?"
In his mind, Chu Liyue always went to work very early and wouldn't return until it was almost dark in the afternoon.
Seeing his bewildered expression as if the phone had failed to boot up, Chu Liyue chuckled, gently kissed his long eyelashes a few times, and said softly:
"Can't you see for yourself? My Sleeping Beauty!"
He sat up from Chu Liyue's arms, looking around blankly with clear stupidity in his eyes.
After a long while, he nestled back into Chu Liyue's arms, gently nibbled on Chu Liyue's sexy and alluring collarbone, and whispered:
"Why is my sister back so early?"
Chu Liyue gently stroked his well-defined six-pack abs, and upon hearing his words, she playfully scratched them twice with her fingertips, chuckling softly:
"Of course I'm coming back to be with my little darling."
In the tender moments, time tiptoed away, slipping quietly through our fingers.
Before we knew it, it was already afternoon.
They never left the back garden, and they also had lunch there.
