"Master?" The Buddha of Compassion and Joy was stunned, as if he hadn't expected this answer.
"No, it's impossible, it can't be Master's."
"Master, it's about exorcising demons!"
"Master, he is not a true traitor."
The Buddha of Compassion and Joy murmured to himself, and by the end, he could no longer even hear his own voice.
"Hey! Where are you going?" The Demon Saint was annoyed with him. This person went straight into the crowd without saying a word. Didn't he see that Wen Jinge was surrounded by people? "Don't drag me down with you to your death."
The Buddha of Sorrow and Joy had his spiritual energy drained by the demon, leaving him listless. He looked at the ancient ginkgo tree and pointed to one side, saying, "There should be a dry well here."
"No!" The Holy Son looked as if he'd seen a ghost, then slapped himself. "I'm a demon, not your little girl! Can't you show me some respect! Wen Xian—"
He opened his mouth, intending to pretend nothing had happened, when the blood-stained man suddenly turned his head and asked, "What do you want?"
Looking at the cripples scattered on the ground, the Holy Son's lips twitched slightly. "Do you really enjoy cutting off people's arms?"
Wen Jingge spared their lives. On the ground lay countless arms and legs, and those who had been crippled were either lying or rolling around in agony—a truly horrific sight.
"I don't like it as much as I imagined."
"Listen to this, is this even human language?" The Holy Son tugged at the Buddha of Compassion and Joy. "Aren't you a Buddha? Don't you always chant about the Buddha's compassion?"
“No.” The Buddha of Compassion and Joy paused, “I was chanting Amitabha Buddha.”
Demon Saint Son: ...
"Good, good, good!"
Demon Saint Son: ...
"Does the benefactor wish to hear of the Buddha's compassion?"
Demon Saint Son: ...
“Buddha is merciful, Heaven cherishes life… Isn’t that right?” The Buddha of Compassion and Joy touched his bald head, looking in confusion in Wen Jinge’s direction. “What are they doing? Where is this? How did this humble monk end up here?”
"Don't you remember anything?" The Holy Son took a deep breath.
Why is he so unlucky?
If he had known where he was, would he still have been captured?
"I don't remember, I don't remember." The Buddha of Compassion and Joy looked dejected, almost as if he had renounced all worldly desires. "Does the benefactor know how to get to the Xuan Yun Sect? I think I'm going there to meet up with my senior brother."
The Holy Son glanced at the people engrossed in the killing and pointed a finger at them, "You wouldn't happen to be going to find her, would you?"
"Ah!" The Buddha of Compassion and Joy slapped his forehead in surprise. "Yes, that is Master Wen."
He seemed to just wake up from some comfort zone, looking around in confusion. "Aren't we going to help Master Wen? Hey, those two horns on your head, are you a demon?"
"Horns?" The Holy Son was surprised. He reached out and touched his head, but there were no horns. "Are you out of your mind?!"
"Why are they only targeting Master Wen? So many people have fallen, why are they still targeting Master Wen? We were just standing right there!" The Buddha of Compassion and Joy pursed his lips. "How strange!"
"You want me to take both the monk and the holy son with me?" Wen Jingge raised an eyebrow.
Liang Si and the others were far away, and Wen Jingge thought that these Wen clan members would do something to them, but it seemed that they were really only targeting her.
“They’re useless.” Wen Xueshan clutched his arm; he was now the only one still standing. “Did the Ancestor realize we weren’t human?”
“Yes!” Wen Jingge nodded. “It’s not human, not demon, and not monster. I can’t think of what it is.”
"It seems that the ancestor has really forgotten many things."
"Is it possible that you've made a mistake? Am I not your ancestor?"
"In today's world, only our ancestors had the ability to open that door."
"Perhaps it's a treasure I possess?"
"No," Wen Xueshan said with certainty. "When you left, you said that only if you personally set it open would the gates of the divine realm open, and the Heavenly Ladder would descend to the mortal world after your death. At that time, we would perish with you."
"You mean I have to die?"
"Yes." Wen Xueshan knelt down, looking at Wen Jingge with deep affection, "Wen clan members, please send our ancestor to the afterlife!"
"Wen clan members, please send our ancestor to the afterlife!"
"Wen clan members, please send our ancestor to the afterlife!"
"Wen clan members, please send our ancestor to the afterlife!"
Those present who still had the strength to remain conscious shouted in unison.
The scene was so shocking that it left people speechless.
“Just as you said!” Wen Jingge threw down the demonic zither and sat down on the spot. “I’ve forgotten many things. I can die, but I don’t want to die confused. If I explained things clearly, you wouldn’t have to suffer like this, would you?”
“No!” Wen Xueshan shook her head. “The ancestor must die in utter despair for it to be effective. That’s what you said, and we are just doing what you asked.”
"Alright, I understand." She manipulated the magic zither. "I know your hands and feet can still be reattached. If you go and kill my disciples now, I will suffer."
Demon Prince: Don't look at me! Don't look at me! I'm innocent!
"Yes, as the Ancestor commands." Wen Xueshan directed them to take action.
"So obedient!" Wen Jingge smiled helplessly, looking at these people who had gone out to kill Liang Si and the others, she didn't know how to respond, so she changed the subject: "The 'me' you're talking about, must be my past life?"
"The ancestor will not die..."
"Good!" Wen Jinge shouted, suddenly stood up, and held the magic zither around his neck.
"You, you, you!" The Demon Saint Son considered himself a man who had seen all kinds of storms, but he had never seen anyone as crazy as Wen Jinge. He was about to go up and stop him, but it was too late.
Wen Jingge's head has already rolled on the ground.
The Buddha of Sorrow and Joy looked utterly dejected, as if he himself had died.
