Chapter 173 The Snow Woman is Coming

As Lan Yezhou walked, he suddenly found himself unable to move. He continued walking and bumped his forehead. Unconvinced, he continued to bump into something, only to find that he was stuck to it.

"Senior brother," Ling Yi said innocently, using his inner cultivation technique, "you're letting them out?"

"I don't remember yet." Yang Wennan was even more helpless than him. "You really were the one who went out earlier, and you were the one who connected with me through the mental transmission technique."

Ling Yi: ...

"Hey! Have you guys noticed something's wrong with this place? I can't seem to get out!"

Lan Yezhou walked back and reached behind Yang Wennan again. This time, he finally saw the blood hanging in the air.

"This...wait, Old Yang, are you stuck here?"

Yang Wennan opened his big, white eyes and let out a long sigh. Seeing this, Ling Yi went forward to help him up. "Senior Brother Lan, sit here! You'll be out soon."

"No?" Lan Yezhou, the monk, was completely baffled. Seeing them leave, he exclaimed in surprise and followed them out, only to bump into the wall again.

"Huh? How can you all leave? I'm stuck here?"

Ling Yi looked at the snow in the sky. "Senior Brother Yang, don't you have any thicker clothes? A cloak makes it difficult to move around."

“It’ll get hot if you run.” Yang Wennan stood in front of the broken tree like a gatekeeper. “Go! Lure it over, I’ll throw it in.”

"They can't be that stupid! Putting all their bets on one thing?"

"Maybe?" He exhaled a breath of stale air. Now that things were over here, he really should leave.

"Then something must have happened outside, or rather, they're using us as bait."

“Actually…” Yang Wennan smiled and swung his cane, killing a wolf.

"Thank you, thank you!" the blood-soaked man said, and just as he was about to turn around to see who had saved him, a cold voice came from beside him.

"Junior brother, should we kill this Jian Shujie?"

Jian Shujie, who had just escaped from the jaws of death, shuddered and fell to the ground. Only then did he realize that the person who had saved him was the most inconspicuous blind man.

"You, you, you are so magnanimous, earlier..."

"Why do you remember things from your past lives?" Yang Wennan tapped his knuckles on his white cane. Although his eyes were closed, no one dared to underestimate him. The aura emanating from him alone was enough to make people feel terrified.

"Old Yang! You're immoral!" Lan Yezhou pounded on the invisible wall. "You're clearly stronger than me, why are you pretending to be blind! Old Yang! You must not want to compete with me, that's why you locked me up, right?"

Yang Wennan took a deep breath, slapped her forehead, and looked at Ling Yi, who was watching the show, "Why didn't you remind me? I forgot that we were supposed to throw the live ones in."

“Watching you fight is just like watching Master; there are no moves, no beauty, you only know that he’s very powerful, and then you forget everything else.” Ling Yi stared at Lou Shujie, who was still standing there dumbfounded, with those innocent eyes. “He seems to have a name that sounds a bit like someone’s name, like your enemy. You can kill him if you want, since no one will know that we killed him.”

Lou Shujie was dumbfounded and cried, "Gentlemen, I was truly blind to your abilities before. Please give me a chance and spare my life..."

"Go lure the wolves!" Yang Wennan interrupted him, exchanging a glance with Ling Yi. "Can you smell it?"

"Her scent is everywhere." Ling Yi rubbed his nose. "By the way, why does Senior Brother also like the Snow Maiden's scent? And why did he prepare so much beast blood for her?"

"It's been so long, I've forgotten."

"Yang, Yang..." Lou Shujie was chased by wolves. Yang Wennan had been able to conceal his aura, which made Lou Shujie only remember that his surname was Yang when he thought of him. He was having trouble knowing how to address him.

"Hmm." Yang Wennan nodded at him, raised his cloudy eyes, reached out and grabbed the wolf's front paw, and threw it toward Lan Yezhou.

Lan Yezhou was still muttering to himself when he was startled by the wolf and pulled out his sword, but it was no use; wolf blood splattered all over his face.

Within the barrier that confined him, it was as if an invisible knife had shredded the wolf into minced meat the moment it entered, the minced meat mixed with blood splattering all over the unsuspecting Lan Yezhou.

"Old Yang!" Lan Yezhou roared angrily outside, "Look what you've done!"

Yang Wennan smiled slightly apologetically and continued forward, "Bring more over."

"Senior Brother Lan..." Ling Yi walked in and handed him a dust-removing talisman, "Remember to change your clothes."

Lan Yezhou thought they could get out, so she followed them out, but then they bumped into each other again.

Another wolf appeared in front of them.

"Yang Wennan! Have I ever offended you? Even if I have in the past, you shouldn't be targeting me like this!" Lan Yezhou fearfully moved away, but some fragments still splashed onto his face. "And... and you two, let me out!"

"Senior Brother Lan, it seems only Master can open this place. We haven't learned how yet." Ling Yi shrugged helplessly. "I'm really not lying to you, Senior Brother."

"Old Yang! Look at my senior sister! She's so busy, how can I, as her junior brother, not go up and help her? Please, just do me a favor and let me go up!"

"Senior Brother Lan," Ling Yi gestured for silence, "he'll be in Phoenix soon."

Lan Yezhou shuddered, shut his mouth, and squatted down to the side.

My mind is filled with images of phoenixes. Phoenixes?

Is there a phoenix in this illusion? Are you sure it's not just a mirage?

Just then, a streak of flame streaked across the sky, and a sliver of light gradually appeared in the east, as if someone had torn apart the sky.

A giant, snow-white bird flew over, looking like the legendary phoenix. However, the phoenix's appearance was accompanied by flames, while this bird was entirely white.

"Hey! Xiao Yi, is that bird sick?"

"No, the Snow Maiden is coming." Ling Yi said slowly, seemingly very cold, and tugged at his cloak. "Senior Brother Lan, you need to be prepared. It's not just wolves coming here."

"What else?" Lan Yezhou wished he could come out immediately, but Ling Yi seemed to be telling the truth; they really couldn't get it out for him.

"The phoenix will be the last to come in. Apart from the golden crow, everything that exists in the illusion will come up. They will eventually wear us down here."

"Is there no way?" Lan Yezhou tapped anxiously. He was like an ant on a hot pan, desperately trying to find a flaw in the defense, but he couldn't find one no matter what he tried.

"No, there are many things that Senior Brother Yang and I can't remember, right?"

"Squat down!" Yang Wennan ignored his attempt to be cute and shouted into the barrier, "Squat down!"

"Squat? You're not going to drench me again, are you?" Lan Yezhou clicked his tongue. "Old Yang, I'm not trying to be mean, but since you can go up there, why don't you go help my senior sister? She's a girl, and it's tough for her."

"My senior sister is helping." Ling Yi sniffed, his expression suddenly changing. "Squat down!"

"Squat? My God!" Lan Yezhou lay sprawled on the ground, dumbfounded as he stared at the door that had suddenly emerged from the tree roots.

"Thousand-Mechanism Lock".
