Chapter 224 Please, please stop using this supernatural power!

"Did you hear anything?" Wen Jingge jumped up and down on the sunken ship.

This is an ancient ship, jutting out into the lakebed, surrounded by many fish whose fate is unknown. Years of silence have caused an unknown algae to grow on its hull, with the seaweed swaying around the mast like the hair of a water ghost.

The first thing Wen Jingge did after going up there was to pull down the mast.

"I think..."

NIO rolled his eyes. He didn't want to say anything at the moment. He knew this was the prelude to Wen Jinge's plan to cause trouble.

"You didn't notice anything, and I didn't hear anything either. The coffin is inside. Let's hurry over, okay?"

Wen Jingge remained silent, then kicked the mast again, sending it out of the ship's reach.

"Why do you have to do this?" NIO sighed.

He couldn't help but take another look at her. "I should have met you when you woke up this time. I remember you being depressed, like a different person. How come you're like this again..."

Why should I put on airs in front of someone who knows my background?

NIO has nothing to say.

"Aren't you tired?" Wen Jingge asked him.

"Or are you just free?" she asked again.

NIO remains silent.

The coffin was right in front of them. The lake was perpetually dark, and with the presence of algae, the entrance to the cabin seemed to be shrouded in a layer of gray mist.

The coffin was so conspicuous that it was right there in front of you, without you even needing to look for it.

NIO dares not move forward rashly, which is why he can tolerate Wen Jingge.

"Why don't you go in?" Wen Jingge asked, catching fish in the lake.

NIO's lips twitched slightly. "Ladies first."

Wen Jingge nodded in satisfaction and kicked the man inside. "Men, move aside."

As NIO rubbed her backside, she turned to look back. Just then, she heard Wen Jingge by the cabin, "The rooster crowed, doesn't that mean it's dawn?"

"What nonsense are you spouting!" he said, a little annoyed. "This is at the bottom of the lake, where would a chicken's crowing come from?"

“I heard it.” Wen Jingge stood at the door, but still didn’t go in. “The coffin behind you has opened.”

NIO broke out in a cold sweat and turned to look behind him.

Just as Wen Jingge had said, the dark coffin opened up, and a slender fingernail emerged. The translucent fingernail was covered with green fuzz, making it look extremely eerie: "Actually, I'm very curious whether this is a fantasy world or, well, a world of spirits."

With his back to her, NIO moved step by step toward the edge of the cabin, as if afraid of disturbing what was inside the coffin.

However, when he reached the cabin door, it was as if something was blocking his way.

"You..." He looked at Wen Jingge, "You did this on purpose, didn't you!"

“You’re in a physical body.” Wen Jingge pointed at him, then at herself. “I’m in a soul state.”

“You kicked me in.” Wei Lai glared at him angrily, just then Wen Jingge placed her hand on his forehead and pushed him into the door.

NIO is vying for dominance, while Wen Jinge is pressing the issue again.

NIO struggles again, Wen Jingge presses down again.

NIO glared at her, struggling desperately, "You just wait, I'll definitely regain my memories before you, and then I'll definitely..."

“I still have things to do down here. Once you’ve all arrived, the path to heaven will be blocked, and you won’t be able to come down.”

NIO: ...

He was like a raging bull, fighting desperately among the singers, but he could never break free from the hand that held his life and death in its grasp: "Let go! This is not Qiyun at all!"

“I know!” Wen Jingge looked at him strangely. “When did I say this place must be a place of prayer for good fortune?”

"You! You misled me!"

"You still haven't told me what hearing a rooster crow means. I've only been in this world for a few years, and I've almost forgotten everything about my past life," she muttered to herself, as if she didn't care at all about NIO's life or death.

The coffin lid finally gave way.

“Haven’t you noticed a problem?” Wen Jingge sighed. “This coffin isn’t made of black iron. The other coffins I’ve seen so far are either made of black iron or crystal. This one is made of pure wood.”

“So…” He leaned against the obscured barrier, watching a strange skeleton sit up in the coffin.

The thing looked like a human, but it was shriveled up, with protruding eyes. Its head looked like it had been submerged in water for too long, and it resembled a triangle with rounded corners. Its fingers were unusually long, probably half a meter long.

A pair of green eyes, like searchlights, shone on NIO.

"Hi!" Wen Jingge waved at the thing, breaking the brief silence.

NIO's lips twitched slightly. Although he was revered as an ancient god, fighting was not his forte.

"I can't beat him..."

"It's crowing again." Wen Jingge placed her hand on his shoulder, half of her body still outside the cabin door. "I heard the rooster crowing again."

"What about dawn?" Having experienced enough life-or-death threats, NIO has calmed down.

That thing was just sizing him up; it hadn't started attacking him yet, had it?

Who knows, maybe they didn't intend to kill him?

People always have a bit of wishful thinking.

Gods, too, may have originated from humans.

"It doesn't seem like it."

Wen Jingge's voice successfully attracted the thing's attention, and then its fingers, like an extended chain, shot out, aiming to lock onto Wen Jingge's location.

"Squat down!" Wen Jingge slapped NIO on the forehead.

Be careful.

The world fell silent for a moment. NIO stared in disbelief at the strange man opposite him. He was still there. Then, he slowly looked up and asked, "What are you going to do next?"
