"Alright! You go down, let my apprentice come up." Wen Jingge held a large brush that looked like a broom, dipped it in gold powder from a bucket, and wrote talismans all over the bottom of the pool. Then she turned the old man over and drew circles on his body with cinnabar. "This is the first time I've understood the fun of shamanistic rituals."
"What kind of cola do you have?"
"You can treat people like they're not human." Without any pity, she threw the person into the dug pit, then took out a large hammer from her storage bag. "Oh, no, he's a demon, not a human, so there's even less reason for him to be treated as a demon."
Lu Wei's eyelids twitched. Wen Jingge had really been good to him, except for slapping him a few times.
This is like using a devil as a nail!
Do you know about feng shui burial sites?
"I don't know. I don't even know where my own remains are." He squatted to the side, yawning. To be honest, it feels pretty good to be alive; I can eat and drink.
"Your remains aren't in the illusion?" Mentioning this, Wen Jingge recalled the four corpses she encountered after defeating Bei Moling. "Is it only demons whose remains aren't present who need possession and enchantment?"
"Otherwise what? When it comes to the body, the original is always the best."
"I have a question!" Wen Jingge pounded on the old man until only his head remained on the ground. "If I grind a demon's remains into powder, can he still be used?"
Lu Wei paused for a moment, then put herself in his shoes and said seriously, "As long as nothing is missing, it's barely acceptable."
"Oh, so it seems the original really is better than the stolen one." She watched as blood began to flow from the old man's head; he should have woken up, but he couldn't move because of the forbidden spell on his body. "If, if you found the person who hid your remains, what would you do?"
“Kill him, and if he dies, kill his descendants. To not even spare human remains is clearly not the mark of a good person, and I despise such people.”
"Indeed, this is the progressive thinking that demons should have."
Wen Jingge gave a thumbs up and placed a magical artifact next to the old man's head to prevent him from abandoning his physical body and running away with his soul.
"So, if his descendants are starving and drink your ashes mixed with water to stave off hunger, would you choose to save your ashes, or possess his body and become someone you hate?"
Lu Wei: ...
Why aren't you saying anything?
"Are you making things difficult for me and threatening him?" Lu Wei was truly speechless.
"I just want to tell you the right answer. If you successfully possess someone, once their soul is destroyed, their body and remains will all be yours." At the height of her excitement, Wen Jingge even punched him lightly. "Brother, that's a huge profit!"
Lu Wei: ...
He didn't know if it would be profitable or not, but Wen Jingge's bamboo shoots were amazing!
Fortunately, Wen Jingge is not currently possessed by a demon. If she were, the demon race in the world would be wiped out!
Lu Wei was used to Wen Jinge like this, but that didn't mean others could. For example, the old man who was buried with only his head left was so frightened by Wen Jinge that his soul left his body.
The moment he moved, the talisman on his forehead burst into flames. He was secretly pleased that Wen Jinge, who had been injured, was only capable of this much, but as soon as his soul left, he was sucked into a mirror.
"Let me out! Let me out!"
"Do you know who I am..." Wen Jingge held the mirror, looking at herself with an extremely natural air, "But I really don't want to know who you are!"
Lu Wei was stunned: "Do you know who sent him?"
"It doesn't matter who sent them. What I need are the Demon Lord's confidants. What good can someone be sent to lead the charge?"
The old man was stunned.
Wasn't Wen Jinge, as rumored, a brainless and arrogant person who used his cultivation to extort money from people everywhere? How come the person in front of me is completely different?
That shouldn't be the case; his information is never wrong.
"Look at him, he looks so dull-witted. He was sent out because he's too stupid."
A suffocating feeling came from the old man's heart. Wen Jinge held him up, with the mirror facing down. Underneath his body, a green sand beast was moving back and forth, pushing a black coffin.
"Master, I've placed the coffins." The voice of the Azure Sand Beast came from below. "I'll dig the remaining six pits right away."
"What's in that coffin?" Lu Wei patted his face to clear his head. "You didn't add another array, did you? We're still up there, don't go too far."
"I don't know what's inside the coffin, I can't open it. It was stolen from the Burning Heaven Gate, and apart from the Purple Gold Bowl, this coffin is the most special one."
"What's so special about it..." Is there anything in this world that even Wen Jingge finds special?
"If the Burning Heaven Gate were placed in an ordinary person's home, it would be considered an ancestral hall! The jade tablets of the dead and the living are enshrined there. We're poor, so I thought I'd see if I could sell the floor tiles or something. After all, they're jade! Unless someone crawls under the altar, who would notice if a floor tile is missing? But I triggered a mechanism and accidentally saw this coffin made of black iron, so I took it."
“…The coffin, that’s fine too.” Lu Wei was at her wit’s end.
The thought of having to take Wen Jinge to find the remnants of the White Deer Clan made him panic.
He had no recollection of what exactly happened when his clan was wiped out. When he woke up, the images that flashed through his mind were familiar faces dying under his sword. He didn't know if anyone had collected his body afterward.
If Wen Jingge finds the old site, wouldn't she just take the coffin with her?
Thinking of this, his face darkened, but then he heard Wen Jingge say, "This is no ordinary coffin. It's made of thousand-year-old black iron, which can fetch a good price."
"Then...why are you digging this hole now?"
