Chapter 5: He Turned Evil

Liang Si hesitated. Even for a seventh-grade Xuan Master like himself, it would take an hour to go to the outer mountain. Not to mention that his junior brother was just an ordinary person who couldn't fly on a sword.

It's dark now, which is only a momentary thing for cultivators, but for ordinary people, the mountains and fields are full of wolves and tigers, which is simply a double whammy.

Liang Si knew that Wen Jingge had an eccentric personality, but he himself had never been given a hard time. He didn't think he was anything special, but he really couldn't figure out why.

Seeing that he was hesitant and worried that things wouldn't go smoothly, Wen Jingge could only remind him, "Do you know the saying 'a beating followed by a treat'?"

"What does Master mean?"

"For him," Wen Jingge pointed outside, "ten blows followed by a sweet treat is enough."

Why?!

"Don't let his current appearance fool you..."

[OOC Warning! OOC! OOC!]

"You look pretty innocent, don't you! But in my dream, he skinned me alive, pulled out my tendons, and made me swallow my own flesh and blood. Do you know how terrifying that was?"

"Understood." Liang Si glanced warily out the window. "I will no longer concern myself with Junior Brother's affairs, and I will keep Master's dream a secret."

[All clear! All clear! All clear!]

"Will you betray Ai Fengling again tomorrow?" Wen Jingge suddenly laughed.

"Master!" Upon hearing this, Liang Si's knees buckled and he knelt on the ground.

"It's okay. He cares about me. Tell him. It's nonsense anyway. It's just that I feel uncomfortable."

“No!” Liang Si said firmly, “This disciple trusts Master. Uncle Ai is Master’s first tribulation, Burning Heaven Sect is the second, and Junior Brother should be the third.”

Who told you this?

“When I first entered the sect, my master sent me a message saying that I might temporarily study under Uncle Ai for a few years, and I would only be recognized again if my master accepted other disciples.”

"Alright, get on with your business!"

That old rascal is really wicked; you get tired of hearing his things after a while.

"Do you know how close you got to disaster?!" The word "non-existent" screamed in her mind. "You almost got electrocuted!"

"Isn't it just a little short!" Wen Jingge leaned on the table, listening to the sounds outside. Liang Si had given him a few talismans, and Qiao Yu was gratefully shoveling rice into the house, the aroma wafting in. "Isn't the point of your games to get your heart racing?"

I feel like you've changed.

"No change! He's turned evil."

[...]

Where are you going?

"Hunting." With that, Wen Jingge went to the dressing room and changed into a black night outfit. "I took a fancy to the jade pendant around his neck. I was just trying to fool Bai Teng, but I actually want to play with jade carving."

Don't do anything reckless!

“When others think you have something and want to use it to punish you, you better have it!” she scoffed. “Look at me, how wicked I am! I just want to have some real fun, but why are you afraid when I actually become wicked? ‘Doesn’t exist,’ are you hiding something from me?”

The word "non-existent" fell silent. Wen Jingge knew it was still watching, but she didn't press it further.

"Master, Junior Brother—"

"Shh!" Wen Jingge didn't hide anything from Liang Si when she did these things. In fact, Liang Si in the original story was really miserable. Not only was her throat cut because she spoke up for her, but she was also accused of being the sinner who set fire to Lingxiao Peak.

Since they were going to die anyway, it was clear that taking him out for a wild ride before he died was more in line with Wen Jingge's aesthetic.

"I am resting on the mountain today."

"Alright, disciple understands." Liang Si didn't ask anything. After Wen Jinge completely disappeared into the night, he made a substitution spell and placed it on Wen Jinge's bed. After doing this, he turned off all the lights and set up a barrier around the house.

As for Wen Jingge, he was currently tailing the protagonist Qiao Yu, intending to give him a surprise attack.

The protagonist truly lives up to his reputation!

The journey was fraught with danger and fraught with peril; it was truly a tragic one.

First, they encountered a bear that never sleeps. After finally escaping, they ran into a wolf. Qiao Yu has always been thick-skinned, and she still survived.

However, what happened next forced Wen Jingge to call out the "non-existent" that was currently in a state of self-isolation.

"Isn't the Azure Sand Beast a sixth-tier demon beast? How could it appear in the Xuan Yun Sect? They don't even dare to put such a demon beast in the high-level trial grounds. It 'doesn't exist.' Just how many things have you been hiding from me?"

"You're looking for thrills, aren't you? Then go for it!"

"What the hell do you mean by 'carry it through to the end'!" Wen Jingge spat.

Qiao Yu, that little brat, clutched the blueprints to his chest. Although he escaped, he was seriously injured. Just as he was about to bandage himself, he stumbled into the lair of the Azure Sand Beast.

Wen Jingge couldn't help but sigh; the protagonist's luck was truly incredible!

However, her inner energy was unstable, and rash action might alert the Azure Sand Beast. She also couldn't let Qiao Yu know her identity, so she could only use medicine to conceal her aura beforehand.

Are you in a hurry?

"Heh." She sneered, but her words betrayed her true feelings: "Yes! They're getting impatient."

Do you need any help?

"I'm the villain! I should be kicking someone when they're down, not helping them."

The phrase "does not exist" is unspeakable, yet it carries an inexplicable strangeness.

Qiao Yu opened the brocade pouch Liang Si had given her, took out some hemostatic medicine, and swallowed it. Perhaps because of the medicine, her eyelids began to droop.

But he knew he couldn't sleep; he had to deliver the things to the outer mountains.

My senior brother said this was a test from our master. He said that the sword blank was a test of one's character, and that if one was not careful, one's cultivation would be completely lost and one would become a cripple. This was our master's way of tempering him.
