"One arrow pierces through—"
Lu Wei didn't finish his joke before it got dark.
"..."
"There aren't any stars!" Wen Jingge was muttering when she was suddenly tackled to the ground. "What are you doing!"
"Don't move!" Lu Wei was a little nervous. Just now, he was almost swept into the air. "Was the force you used when you shot into the cave last time the same?"
“It’s better than this, by borrowing the power of heaven.” Wen Jingge turned around and pressed him to the ground. It was better for her to protect Lu Wei than for Lu Wei to protect her. She didn’t want to be carried to heaven.
The wind and sand swept overhead, causing many birds and beasts in the forest to scatter in terror. Blood rain fell from the sky, which resembled a giant black vortex from which terrifying howls echoed continuously.
After the storm subsided, Wen Jingge opened her eyes.
To prevent her clothes from getting dirty after the barrier broke, she covered herself with a sheet. Lu Wei didn't want to comment on this; he was only interested in Wen Jingge's strength.
It's one thing for others to be mistaken, but he wouldn't stoop so low as to pass off the real thing as the fake.
The arrow just now did not change Wen Jingge's mind, nor did it use any profound power; it was merely the killing intent inherent in his physical body.
But she's only at the ninth rank, yet which ninth rank can unleash a devastating attack with a mere wave of their hand like she can?
"Don't you have anything else on you that restricts your cultivation level?"
"He's gone." Wen Jingge tied the veil around his face, then suddenly remembered something, "Did he faint from fright?"
"I didn't faint." Lu Wei didn't understand her wicked sense of humor. "I was scared stiff."
"Give me back my bracelet! Using it once lowers my rank by several levels. If I play with you a few more times, I'm afraid my rank will drop to zero..." She looked at the beads on her two hands and added another one to her bracelet, "May all your wishes come true."
"Your rank is gone, but your strength has increased?" Lu Wei pondered, then glanced at what was in her mind and asked cautiously, "Are you awake?"
"Have you figured it out?"
“You came up backwards.” He pointed to the sky. “There was no aura of immortals just now.”
"Um?"
"Going against the heavens, you may have been strong enough to make those above you wary in the past. Your strength was clearly there, yet you didn't advance in rank. What are you waiting for?"
"World destruction?" Wen Jingge blurted out, but Lu Wei was clearly serious: "Don't be nervous! I just like to play around, I have no intention of destroying the world, but..."
The bedsheets were still there, and blood rain fell from the sky from time to time. Wen Jingge covered them with a barrier. She looked at the feathers floating in the air and said, "Do you think it was a mistake for me to come in looking for a mount?"
Daylight broke.
The beauty of the formless illusion has vanished.
It's like experiencing a massive flash flood, a hurricane, a tsunami, an earthquake... all the prehistoric disasters are being rehearsed here.
The roots of towering trees pointed upwards, and the lake water gushed and splashed all over the ground, mixed with the blood rain from the sky, making it no different from being in a slaughterhouse, full of stench.
The area where Wen Jingge was located was unaffected. It was unclear whether this was because her barrier was strong enough or because a demonic entrance was sealed there.
The area around them was very clean.
Am I short of money?
"We're really short." There are only a handful of spirit stones left in the storage bag.
"Those demon cores can be sold for money, right?"
"..." Suddenly, I had a bad feeling.
"I'll take you out. You go find them, and we'll dig for demon cores."
Lu Wei: ...
What shameful thing couldn't Wen Jingge do?
"Alright, Master, I'll go and call them right away."
"Are you afraid of losing face?"
Qiao Yu stood there without saying a word. He knew that his master was waiting for the Grand Master, but there was nothing he could do if the Grand Master didn't come up!
He looked around, but there wasn't even a tree that had knocked him unconscious.
"Alright! Let's go out together then." Wen Jingge glanced at Qiao Yu's clothes. This version of the flying fish robe was already a bit fitted, and it looked very tight on Qiao Yu. "You've grown taller and fatter. The food on the mountain is pretty good!"
"Yes, it was my senior brother who gave me extra help," he said shyly.
As for who gave up the special treatment, it could only be the one in front of me who has a sharp tongue but a kind heart.
"When you have some free time, ask Liang Si to prepare a few sets for you. You're at the age where you're growing, so don't neglect yourself."
"Those junior brothers and sisters on the mountain?"
“Those who undergo marrow cleansing are different from those who are born with it. As for your junior sister, she is of royal lineage, and her foundation is more stable than any of yours.”
"Yes..." He seemed to realize something, and suddenly asked in surprise, "Junior Brother Yang has also undergone marrow cleansing?"
Did I just say he was undergoing marrow cleansing?
"I did say it, indirectly," Lu Wei proactively chimed in. "Don't you remember?"
"Hmm. Could it be that I knew him before?" Wen Jingge still felt that she was being too sensitive. "Liang Si has only been with me for the past few years. If I knew him, Liang Si shouldn't have failed to recognize him."
"Did that person come up just now?"
"It didn't come up." The two were stunned again. Wen Jingge slapped his forehead. "I understand. This is my original memory awakening."
"Maybe." Lu Wei continued to look at her, thinking she was a money-grubber, and kindly reminded her, "Are you sure you can come back in after you leave?"
“What’s wrong with me coming in to clean?” she asked. “If they prefer to clean up on their own, I’d love to.”
Lu Wei was speechless once again.
Elder Qiushui, standing outside the barrier, was equally speechless, a gentle and dignified smile on his face: "Immortal Venerable Wen."
"Hehehe, hello there!" Wen Jingge smiled, seeming very easy to talk to. "I just went in for a stroll, the scenery inside is quite nice! Hahaha! Is there anything I can help you with?"
