Wen Jingge turned around in confusion, while Liang Si frowned in bewilderment. Their gazes shifted from Lu Wei back to the man and the maid, and both voices asked in unison, "Which one?"
Lu Wei: ...
Two figures quickly left, and before Lu Wei could even see what was happening, he fell off Wen Jingge.
"That's raw! It's not ripe yet!" he shouted as he chased after it.
The coffin was taken away, and the barrier shattered as a result.
The maidservant, seeing that something was wrong, had already run far away, leaving the man sitting there, as if he had been struck unconscious.
"It's alright! The primordial power within me can no longer be suppressed!"
Liang Si seemed quite excited after advancing, especially after suffering a setback at the hands of the old Taoist priest. He became even more eager to prove himself. "Master! I think I can too, I..."
"Hmm!" Wen Jingge patted his shoulder, rummaged through his storage bag, found an antique square hammer, and solemnly completed the handover.
"Looks like your identity as Thor can't be hidden anymore. Go for it, Thor! Let's strike him down!"
Liang Si scratched his head. This hammer, when it came into his hands, still carried lightning, but when his inner demons appeared, it turned into an ancient gray, somewhat similar to his master's Gouchen.
"Why did Master bring a hammer with him when he went out? Where did it come from?"
Wen Jingge was the one who packed up a lot of things, so there's no reason why he hadn't seen them before!
Even after she went into seclusion in the mountains, the pile of things that Ai Fengling had left there was something he had to collect later; he had never seen this hammer before.
"It seems like I did it—?" Wen Jingge reflexively said halfway before stopping herself, that inexplicable sense of familiarity rising again. "Never mind, never mind, I forgot."
"Who is Thor?"
"My pet name for you."
Liang Si didn't smile, but you could see the brightness in his eyes, so he must have gotten through it.
"Do you really want me to die?"
The man's eyes, hidden beneath his afro, lit up. Those eyes were incredibly intelligent, unlike those of a human; they seemed more like those of a spirit that had cultivated for many years.
Hearing that Wen Jinge wanted him dead, he didn't panic. Instead, he revealed eight neat white teeth, which contrasted sharply with his charcoal-black face.
Really?
Really?
Are you serious?
"You're not lying to me, are you?"
"You didn't lie to me, did you?"
Wen Jingge frowned, Thor's hammer was crackling, how could he be stupid before it even struck?
"Do you want to get chopped up?"
"I want to die! Can you help me?" The man knelt on the ground, his frame as thin as a stick, long and wiry, and his eyes looked at her like those of a vicious beast.
She suddenly wasn't hungry anymore.
"Master, there's not much meat in it, it must taste bad, let's forget about it!"
"Okay! I'm fine." The man coughed a few times, exhaling a few puffs of white smoke, and rolled up his sleeves as he spoke.
At this moment, Wen Jingge stepped in front of Liang Si and began to wipe his sleeves:
It's as if nobody has hands. This place is blessed with outstanding people and abundant resources. Wen Jinge doesn't believe there's anyone whiter than their Wanzhang Peak.
Seeing this, Liang Si silently rolled up her sleeves.
Lu Wei went to chase after the little girl, but she was fast and he almost couldn't catch up. Just then, someone tried to curry favor with him, so he came back with a cold face, followed by Wang Xi sticking out her tongue.
"Master, Junior Sister didn't mean it."
Having reached the sixth rank today, Yang Wennan felt more confident and spoke with greater assertiveness. Facing the Grandmaster, whom he usually avoided like the plague, he resolutely protected his junior sister behind him.
That's right, he was still holding two pieces of the demon-locking chain in his hand, which made it very inconvenient for him to speak, and he had to be on guard against the little demon running away at any time.
"Yes, yes, Master, I'm sorry."
"I'm not angry!" He said angrily, turning his head to find Wang Xi holding the demon-locking chain, while Yang Wennan was rolling up his sleeves.
"What are you two doing?" He looked speechlessly at the two disciples who had raised their hands, and also saw Wen Jingge and Liang Si doing the same thing.
"No, if I don't do it, won't I seem like I'm not fitting in?" The tied-up little girl panicked. "I... should I do it too...?"
It certainly looked like some kind of ritual, especially when that madman cut off a piece of flesh from his own hand, still laughing without feeling any pain, and handed the piece of flesh to Wen Jingge.
Are you going to eat it or not?
The meat smelled delicious, and both she and Liang Si showed varying degrees of joy on their faces, completely absorbed in it.
Then, similar disgust appeared on their faces, and they said with disdain, "Dirty!"
"I'm not eating! You look like you haven't showered in ages."
Liang Sishen nodded in agreement, "It's covered in dirt."
"Phew!" Regardless, Lu Wei breathed a sigh of relief and pushed the little girl up like a treasure, "This is the scent you were looking for."
"She didn't shower either," Liang Si said with disgust.
"It's too meaty; it won't taste good in soup."
"Then let's just stir-fry it!" Wang Xi was simply enjoying the spectacle.
"Waaaaah... Master, save me! Humans are so scary, I want, I want..."
"Look! An airplane!" Wen Jingge pointed to the sky.
The group all looked up at the sky simultaneously. Wen Jingge felt a chill run down her spine; she felt like she'd been completely outmaneuvered. These were all time travelers!
Then she realized her hand was pointing to the sky, and her mood instantly soured.
"There's nothing here, Master." Yang Wennan was the first to turn around.
"It's just a flying chicken, right here is a ready-made one."
Lu Wei took on the role of a good older brother, and the longer he spent with Wen Jingge, the more patient he became.
He didn't know that it was precisely because of this dismissive attitude that Wen Jingge panicked again.
