Chapter 99 The Dream Weaver

"Wen Shuqing! I see you, don't hide!" Yang Wennan almost shouted.

Who is Wen Shuqing?

This person was originally a disciple of Shan Hongxing. He entered the Xuanyun Sect on the same day as Yang Wennan. The two even cooperated in the Wuxiang Illusionary Realm, but later they got separated.

That day, on a whim, he went to Fenglei Peak to challenge the mountain. Shan Hongxing's disciples were all beaten up that day. Young people are not willing to admit defeat. Afterwards, Wen Shuqing privately challenged him to a few matches.

If disciples engage in private competitions without witnesses, the matter will be reported.

This is the rule of the Xuan Yun Sect.

Originally, the two of them should have handled their private matters privately, but Wen Shuqing had been defeated by him many times, so she brought a group of people to cause trouble for Yang Wennan.

This wouldn't have happened to anyone else, but unfortunately, Yang Wennan is Wen Jinge's disciple, and she also has a lazy junior sister who's always looking for free rides.

After the incident was exposed, Wen Shuqing's habit of provoking trouble was also revealed. Later, Shan Hongxing severed his master-disciple relationship with him. Since even the peak master didn't want a disciple, the outer sect naturally wouldn't dare to accept him either, so he expelled him from Xuanyun Sect.

Although the cave was visible, the lighting was poor, so he wouldn't have recognized Wen Shuqing normally. However, he no longer limited his ability to judge people by sight alone.

Moreover, Wen Shuqing's leg was injured by him, a fact that couldn't be more obvious. If he still couldn't recognize her, he would truly be letting down his master's teachings.

"What are you doing here? Wen Shuqing, explain yourself! Did you set up all of this?"

"Wen Shuqing!" A sinister voice echoed from the other side of the cave, like the whisper of a demon, "So that's my name!"

Yang Wennan frowned and shook his face.

Because the spider had crawled onto his face.

"That's my name!" Wen Shuqing rambled incoherently. "Oh, let me think... I know you all. What's your name again?"

The shadowy figure emerged from the darkness, wearing a black cloak. Only when he got close to Yang Wennan did he lift the hood, revealing his face.

Yang Wennan remembered Wen Shuqing as having a combative and strong personality, yet possessing feminine features despite being a boy.

When he first went up to the dueling platform, he told this person that he would not fight female disciples. He had also thought that this person was a girl when they cooperated in the illusion before.

But now, Wen Shuqing's face was glowing with a faint green light, and there were many pustules, like bubbles rising in boiling water, which was somewhat disgusting.

"Look at me! How do I resemble Wen Shuqing? Huh?" He grabbed Yang Wennan by the neck. The spider seemed afraid of him; as soon as his hand reached out, the spider fled as if it had encountered an even more venomous creature. "Yang Wennan, all of this is because of you!"

"It has nothing to do with me!" Yang Wennan yelled at him. "If it were me, I wouldn't let you get away with this!"

"Oh?" Wen Shuqing seemed stunned.

He raised his head, a hint of wickedness on his face. "You caused me to be expelled from the sect, isn't that bad enough? Just because you're Wen Jingge's disciple? What right do you have?"

Wen Shuqing seemed to have thought of something amusing, "You know what? I was originally going to Wanzhang Peak, but because of people like you who interfered, I couldn't go. I went to Fenglei Peak instead. I thought I would have a bright future there, but then you..."

"Hehehehe... Yang Wennan, tell me, haven't you become the kind of person you hate the most? I heard that back then, you were also persecuted and expelled from the sect by Jian Ting and his brothers, and now you've used that on me..."

"Yang Wennan, are you ever afraid when you wake up in the middle of the night?"

"Hahahaha... Afraid I'll come and take your dog's life? Hmm?"

"Did you ever imagine this day would come?"

Yang Wennan let him make a variety of expressions as if he were indulging in a fantasy. The closer Wen Shuqing got to him, the safer he felt.

The diligently working spider had been scared away, and perhaps it was just his imagination, but after the spider left, he felt that the spider silk binding his feet had loosened.

He looked up at the poor man and said, "We are different."

"What's the difference?" He punched Yang Wennan in the face. "Tell me! What's the difference? What do I lack compared to you, you crude man? You're just jealous of me!"

“True envy comes from striving to become better and surpassing them one day, not from constantly complaining about your own life. I have my own path to walk, and yours is none of my business.” Yang Wennan sighed. “These are things I learned from my master.”

He gave a bitter laugh. "I'm afraid even Master would be surprised to hear this! There are many people in the sect who are jealous of Master, but none of them dare to touch him in the slightest. Wen Shuqing, I don't know how you became like this. It seems you've gotten involved with the Demon Clan."

"Yes! The Holy Son of the Demon Clan! What a big shot he is!"

Yang Wennan understood immediately; it seemed he hadn't gone to the wrong place, and the Holy Son was indeed here.

Since Master isn't here, he must be about to find his way!

Snap! Snap!

The cocoons on the ground were still breaking open, and the little spiders quickly avoided this area, leaving in a hurry.

“Wen Shuqing, truly powerful people don’t get distracted by these trivial matters, nor do they think about going down a completely different path. You wanted to follow Master before, so why did you change your mind? My Master recently took on another disciple.”

"Again?" Wen Shuqing gave a bitter smile, holding her sword. "I was hoping to use you to threaten Master Wen, but it seems I won't need you anymore."

He looked at the two people in the cocoon on the other side, "One of those two is your senior brother, right? My cultivation is limited now, so I can only deal with you."

Wen Shuqing brandished her sword, "Do you remember this move? It was this move that made me limp when I was defeated by you. Today, I'll return the favor!"

"One last thing, did you break the chains between me and my master?"

"I guess so."

"Alright, let's get started!" He lay motionless in the cocoon, holding a small spider in his palm that hadn't had time to escape, the spider biting his fingertip.

He had only seen this move in his master's handwritten notes. These spiders were no ordinary creatures; they were the dream weavers needed to complete that task.

The Dream Weaver is different from ordinary spiders. When he opens his eyes, the spiders he sees have human faces, but when he closes his eyes, these spiders revert to their ordinary spider appearance.

He trusted his heart more than his eyes.

Both the Grand Master and the Buddha of Compassion and Joy are trapped in the dream created by the Dream Weavers. These Dream Weavers are formed from the fragmented consciousness of the Demon Race. They can enter people's dreams and absorb people's life essence through cocoons. If a person is trapped for too long, he will slowly die.

Now, he needs a dream weaver, but not someone who enters the dream himself and transforms himself into the dream weaver.
