Du Weili said sarcastically, "It seems that Captain Lu hasn't been back for a long time. Someone is going to be disappointed!"
Yang Niannian rolled her eyes at him and ordered him to leave. "Put your luggage on the table and go back quickly! If someone sees you later, it's not good for an old man to be in my house so early in the morning."
"What old man?"
Du Weili's eyes widened. How could he be called an old man by someone who was a young and promising boss?
He is not even thirty years old yet, so how can he be considered an old man?
Du Weili has a strong opinion on the term "old man".
Yang Niannian rubbed her ears and glared at him, "Are you afraid that no one knows you are here?"
Du Weili looked as if to say, "Don't try to hide it, he knows everything." "You are the wife of the head of the group, who dares to point fingers at you?"
Yang Niannian rolled her eyes and quickly sent the big Buddha out the door, just in time to see a girl with two pigtails, wearing a large flowered jacket from Northeast China, with average looks and red cheeks from being frozen.
Seeing them coming out of the house, the girl was stunned for a moment, then quickly walked into Hu Qiaomei's yard.
You can guess without asking that this person is most likely Hu Qiaomei's sister.
It seems that Hu Qiaomei really wants to marry her sister to an army officer.
Yang Niannian sent Du Weili out of the main hall and turned around to take the luggage into the inner room when she heard Hu Qiaomei's loud voice coming from the gate of the courtyard.
"Hey, Captain Lu's wife, you're back? When did you arrive?"
Yang Niannian turned around and saw someone rushing into the yard, so she put down her things and replied calmly, "Just arrived."
Hu Qiaomei stepped over the threshold, looked back at Du Weili who was walking to the gate of the yard, curled her lips, and asked suspiciously.
"The man who just left, is he your relative?"
Yang Niannian did not answer but asked, "What do you want?"
Hu Qiaomei smiled and said, "What can I do? I just heard from my sister that you are back, so I came to visit."
Her husband has repeatedly reminded her these past few days that Yang Niannian is coming back and asked her not to provoke Yang Niannian. Doesn't this mean that he wants her to have good relations with her neighbors?
Yang Niannian said calmly, "It's okay, go back first! I just came back and need to pack my things."
Hu Qiaomei was chased away before she could say a few words. She was a little unhappy and said with a crooked mouth and squinting eyes.
"You are so careless. Your man is lying half-dead in the hospital, and you don't take care of him. Yet you still have the mood to do housework here."
Whoever marries this daughter-in-law will be unlucky for the rest of his life.
She didn't dare say this directly.
Yang Niannian's eyebrows jumped, "Lu Shishen is in the hospital?"
"You don't know yet?" Hu Qiaomei was a little surprised. "He was injured during the mission and has been in the hospital for three or four days."
Yang Niannian's heart suddenly rose to her throat. She grabbed the door frame and shouted at Du Weili who had not walked far away.
"Du Weili, wait for me."
After saying that, he walked out of the room and closed the door. If Hu Qiaomei hadn't walked fast, the back of her head would have been caught in the gap of the door.
Seeing Yang Niannian close the door and chase after him, Du Weili was a little surprised, "You just got home, what are you doing in the city again?"
Yang Niannian looked serious, "Lu Shishen is injured, take me to the hospital."
Du Weili is usually careless, but when it comes to serious matters, he is very decisive and drives the car steadily and fast.
Seeing Yang Niannian with a worried look on her face on the way, his bad habit of talking nonsense came back again.
"Don't worry too much. I don't think your man is going to die. He's still in the hospital, which means he's still alive. At most he has a few limbs or something. It's not a big problem. You're so good at making money. When he retires, he won't have to live in fear anymore. How great is that?"
Yang Niannian glared, "Do you believe that I will ask Jiang Yang to drive your car into the ditch?"
Du Weili immediately became obedient, he knew that Yang Niannian really dared to do this.
The car soon arrived at the hospital entrance.
Du Weili's bottom was as if covered with 502, and he didn't move. "You go in! I won't go in. I hate to see others crying and wiping tears."
Yang Niannian was concerned about Lu Shishen's situation and was too lazy to argue with him. She opened the car door and ran straight into the inpatient building, where she ran into a nurse at the corner of the second floor.
"Hello, do you know which ward Lu Shishen is in?"
The nurse thought for a moment and said, "Is it the soldier who was sent here two days ago? He is in Ward 205."
"OK, thanks."
Yang Niannian trotted to the door of Ward 205. The door was open. Just as she was about to go in, Li Fengyi's voice came from inside.
"Captain, this porridge is delicious, please try it."
Immediately afterwards, Lu Shishen's somewhat haggard voice sounded.
"Put it by the bed. I'll drink it myself later. Go to the scrap yard and ask Jiang Yang when Nian Nian will have her day off."
Li Fengyi hesitated, "Your side..."
Lu Shishen, "I'm fine."
Yang Niannian walked into the ward and saw Lu Shishen leaning against the head of the bed with a bandage on his shoulder blade. She said with both heartache and anger.
"You're already lying in a hospital bed, and you're still saying you're fine. How old are you? You still don't know how to take good care of your body."
Li Fengyi turned to look at Yang Niannian, and was immediately overjoyed and exclaimed.
"Sister-in-law, are you back?"
He tactfully handed the bowl and spoon to Yang Niannian, "Sister-in-law, you haven't had breakfast yet, right? The buns in the hospital cafeteria are pretty good. I'll go buy some for you."
After saying that, he ran out and kindly helped close the ward door.
Lu Shishen kept looking at Yang Niannian, as if he couldn't see enough. His tense jaw relaxed, and when he saw her staring at the bandage on his shoulder blade, he pursed his lips and comforted her.
"Don't worry. I'm fine."
Yang Niannian wanted to blame him, but before she could say anything, tears started to fall. She sat down on the edge of the bed, pouted and said with a distressed look.
"You said you were fine, but your lips are bloodless. How did you get hurt?"
Lu Shishen felt his breath choke and a dull pain came from his chest, "Don't cry, it's okay now."
He wanted to wipe Yang Niannian's tears, but before he could raise his hand, Yang Niannian held it down, "Still moving, don't you want to get well?"
She glared at him in reproach. "Do you think you are still the brave and warlike young general in my dream? Now is the age of firearms. It's useless even if you put on golden armor. I will still beat you into a dice. You must be careful when you go on a mission. Safety must be your first priority. Do you hear me?"
Lu Shishen nodded hoarsely, "Okay."
Yang Niannian wanted to teach him a lesson, but seeing his pale lips, she felt distressed and scooped a spoonful of porridge to his mouth.
"Drink the porridge first. You will recover faster if you are full."
Lu Shishen felt a little uncomfortable, but he still opened his mouth cooperatively. Yang Niannian complained while feeding him porridge.
"This porridge is too bland. At least add some lean meat and shredded chicken. How can it be nutritious if it's just plain?"
She quickly finished a bowl of porridge. She knew that Lu Shishen must not be full based on his appetite. "Have some meat buns later."
