"Master, why do you want to see the Four Heavenly Spirits in person?" Feng Su asked in her phoenix form. "Oh, no, there are already three spirits."
"I want to give this bead to them." The bead that Jinyu handed me emitted a faint, ethereal glow in my hand.
“A bead?” Feng Su turned her head and glanced at the bead in my hand. “This is the bead that Jin Yu gave to her master before she died.”
"Exactly."
Feng Su sighed and said, "If Jin Yu were alive..."
Feng Su didn't continue speaking; we all know there are no "what ifs."
Following the Flower Goddess's instructions, Feng Su quickly arrived at her destination.
"Xinhuang, this is it." The place the Flower Goddess pointed to was a basin surrounded by mountains. A waterfall cascading down from the mountain on the left converged into a lake. In this small basin, there was a sea of flowers, a bamboo forest, and a thatched cottage, which was like a paradise.
The place they chose is really nice; I'd even like to live in seclusion here with You.
While I was envious, I didn't forget my business. This entire basin was protected by a powerful barrier. As expected of one of the Four Spirits of Heaven, its power was no less than that of the Witch Ancestor.
There are three of them. If a fight breaks out, I looked at You and Feng Su. They can definitely protect themselves. Besides, with Feng Su there, they can escape if they can't win.
"Flower Goddess, how did you discover this place?"
The Flower Goddess frowned as she looked down, lost in thought. "It's strange, my flower fairies said they'd never seen such a place before; it seemed to have appeared overnight."
I lowered my eyes and pondered. There must have been a barrier protecting it before, so it would have been difficult for ordinary fairies to detect it.
"And I suspect they deliberately revealed their location."
"What do you mean?"
"With the abilities of those three, it would be impossible for me and my little flower fairies to discover their whereabouts. Yet they were completely unprepared, as if they were deliberately trying to attract our attention."
I suspect they're trying to lure me out, but how can they be so sure I'll come? Just based on those words directed at me? That's ridiculous.
"Xin'er, shall we go down and take a look?" You reached out and smoothed my furrowed brow. "Don't worry, I'm here."
"Let's go and take a look. We can't let them waste their efforts."
"Master, why go into a trap knowing it's a trap?" Feng Su asked, puzzled but still following my instructions. "Should I go to the Heavenly Court and call some people?"
"No need." I tapped Feng Su on the head. "Don't you have faith in your master?"
"How could that be? My master is the best in the world."
I smiled, my gaze growing even more resolute as I looked into the distance. Let them come, no matter what schemes or tricks they may have. With You by my side, I'm not afraid.
As Feng Su descended, we got closer and closer to the barrier. You Du and I channeled our energy, preparing to break through the barrier at any moment, but Feng Su flew straight in without any obstruction along the way.
Feng Su flapped her wings and asked in surprise, "I didn't do anything, how did I just fly in?"
I cautiously looked around. How could they get in so easily? There must be a trap.
You whispered in my ear, "If there's danger later, Xin'er, just stay behind me. If things get bad, you and Feng Su leave first, don't worry about me."
You're here again. Every time, you make me run first, even though I want to fight alongside you.
