I suspect Liu Lieyu is deliberately messing with me. Why did he have to walk such a long distance? He has magical powers, yet he's wearing light clothes. And me? I have no magical powers, and I'm dressed in cumbersome and heavy clothes.

I became increasingly agitated as I walked, and eventually I simply sat down on the ground and said, "I'm not going any further."

"Xin'er, what's wrong now?" Liu Lieyu asked me, unusually good-natured.

"I can't walk anymore," I said, panting.

Liu Lieyu's eyes flickered. "We're persevering, we're persevering."

"I really can't walk anymore, try on these clothes."

Liu Lieyu stared at me for a long time without saying a word. I was panting with my head down, so I naturally didn't see the change in Liu Lieyu's eyes.

I was suddenly grabbed and pulled up. "Even if you can't walk, get going!"

Me? ??? Are you crazy? I really don't understand Liu Lieyu's temper. He changes his mind so easily?

I was forcibly pulled up. The dazzling sun was generously sharing its rays, making my mouth dry. The jewelry around my neck weighed me down, making it hard to lift my head. In a daze, everything seemed to go black, and my legs went weak... But my arms were firmly held by Liu Lieyu.

"What, are you going to faint again?" Liu Lieyu looked at me with a mocking gaze.

"Who's going to faint?" I got angry at Liu Lieyu's disdainful look.

Liu Lieyu glanced at me but didn't say anything. He just pulled me along and we continued walking. I tried several times to shake off Liu Lieyu's annoying hand, but he held on tightly and wouldn't let go.

"Aren't you unable to walk? Why are you still so energetic?" Liu Lieyu suddenly spoke as I forcefully shook off his hand again.

"As long as I can stay away from you, I'll always have energy," I retorted defiantly.

"I think you don't care about their lives."

"You! Didn't you say I'd let them go as soon as I came up here!?"

"With your attitude? I could kill them eight hundred times over and it still wouldn't be enough."

"Come at me then. What kind of skill is it to threaten me with them?"

Liu Lieyu's gaze deepened. "Do you think I don't want to do this to you?" He then smiled faintly, his eyes turning icy cold. "You'd better not provoke me, or I don't know what I might do."

I was stunned for a moment. Just a brief instant, I seemed to sense that Liu Lieyu wanted to kill me. Although it was only a short moment, it was enough to make my heart pound.

I withdrew my gaze, lowered my eyes, and obediently continued walking. Before I could rescue You, I shouldn't provoke Liu Lieyu any further. I should just bear with it.

A moment of patience brings peace; a wise man takes his revenge even after ten years; a small act of impatience can ruin a great plan.

I silently recited all the sentences that advised people to be patient in my mind before I could suppress the rebellious thoughts in my heart.

The rest of the journey went much more smoothly thanks to my cooperation.

With the summit of the altar right before my eyes, I glanced at Liu Lieyu beside me and was surprised to find that Liu Lieyu looked somewhat nervous.

I felt like I had discovered a new continent, and I was about to say something sarcastic, but then I remembered that I had to be patient, so I swallowed my words.

Liu Lieyu solemnly took my arm and stepped onto the altar. The people waiting on the altar knelt and greeted us, "Eastern Emperor, Imperial Consort."

Liu Lieyu nodded, then looked up at the sky and asked the white-haired old man in the middle, "Has the auspicious time arrived?"

The old man swayed his white beard, shook his head, and said, "There's still half an incense stick's time left." As he spoke, he pointed to the burning incense on the table.
