"Why don't you eat as soon as I arrive?" Liu Lieyu turned around and sat down in the chair I had just been sitting in, his legs casually spread apart and his hands resting on the armrests.
"Now that you're here, how can I possibly eat?" I put on the most ingratiating smile I'd ever given and moved closer.
"Hmm?" Liu Lieyu was clearly pleased with my obedience today. "Do you need something from me?"
"How could that be?" I laughed exaggeratedly as I approached Liu Lieyu, took another orange from the fruit plate, peeled it, and handed it to Liu Lieyu.
Liu Lieyu looked down at the orange in my hand. I felt a little uneasy. Did he think I had poisoned her?
However, I was clearly overthinking it.
Liu Lieyu glanced at it, then quickly took the orange from my hand, ate it, and then looked at me with a smile. He pulled me over and made me sit on his lap. "Why are you being so obedient today?"
I suppressed my discomfort, lowered my head and looked shy.
Seeing that I didn't reply, Liu Lieyu wasn't annoyed. He reached out and took the watermelon I had just eaten.
I looked at Liu Lieyu's actions with confusion. Was he going to eat the watermelon I had just eaten?
Liu Lieyu scooped up a piece of watermelon with a spoon and brought it to my mouth.
It turns out it was for me to eat.
I smiled and ate the watermelon that Liu Lieyu fed me. "Thank you."
Liu Lieyu looked at me with a smile without saying a word, and stroked my hair with a hint of satisfaction.
I racked my brains for words to praise Liu Lieyu, but every single one sounded too strange. Even if I could say it, Liu Lieyu probably wouldn't believe me. Liu Lieyu isn't that kind of fool.
"Are you feeling better?" Liu Lieyu asked with concern, continuing to feed me watermelon while holding me in his arms.
I nodded and swallowed the watermelon in my mouth. "I feel much better."
"That's good." Liu Lieyu paused before speaking, "The date for the next ceremony has been set. The astrologer said that the next auspicious day will be six months from now."
So long? A surge of secret joy welled up inside me. Maybe "You" and I would escape in six months.
"Why did it take so long?" I still pretended to look regretful.
"Auspicious days are rare indeed."
"It's all my fault." I looked at Liu Lieyu with tearful eyes and blamed myself. "If I had just held on a little longer last time, things wouldn't have been so troublesome."
Liu Lieyu glanced at me, surprised by my change, but didn't ask anything.
Since Liu Lieyu didn't respond, I had to get him to say what I wanted to say, otherwise, wouldn't all my docility today have been for nothing?
"Lieyu," I called softly.
"Hmm?" Liu Lieyu snorted, put down the watermelon in his hand, and stared at me leisurely, as if to say, "Let's see what kind of trouble I'm going to cause today."
I pinched my palm to remind myself not to forget my purpose, and no matter how ashamed I felt, I should just consider myself shameless.
"Look at me, I've been cooped up in my room all day, and without my magic power, my body is naturally weak. Why don't you let me go out for a walk, stretch my legs, and get some exercise? I'm sure I won't have any problems with the next ceremony." As I spoke, I kept a close eye on Liu Lieyu's expression, not missing a single change.
After listening, Liu Lieyu's smiling expression remained unchanged, his fingers tapping the armrest repeatedly. My heart was pounding, wondering if Liu Lieyu would agree to this suggestion.
Even if Liu Lieyu disagrees this time, I will never give up. I will keep saying that I don't believe Liu Lieyu will disagree. Humph.
Liu Lieyu looked up at me. "Want to go for a walk?"
I nodded frantically, "Yes, I'm so bored staying in my room all day."
