Finally, I've reached this point; the holy spring water is right before my eyes.
I glanced down at my fingertips again, praying in my heart, "Green Silk, You, you must hold on, I really don't want to submit to a snake."
"Xin'er, come here." Liu Lieyu stepped into the sacred spring first. He looked particularly radiant in the spring water, and his complexion seemed to have become much rosier, no longer as deathly pale as before.
"Hmm." I breathed a sigh of relief and stepped into the sacred spring, sitting on the outermost edge of it.
Just like last time, Liu Lieyu closed his eyes and chanted some incantations, while I supported myself on the bottom of the pool with one hand, leaned against the wall, and looked up at my fingertips. However, this time, I only glanced at them before looking away.
Last time, I was so focused on looking at my hands at the Holy Spring that I forgot to observe my surroundings.
The Sacred Spring is extremely important to Liu Lieyu. It allows him to be reborn repeatedly. With the Sacred Spring present, Liu Lieyu is eternally immortal. Therefore, the location of the Sacred Spring is a secret to the entire Guixu, and probably only Fei Yan knows it.
I've been here before, and last time I destroyed it myself. I clearly remember that the holy spring had dried up and the springhead had been completely destroyed by me, but now it's intact, as if the damage never happened.
Lost in thought, I didn't notice that Liu Lieyu's complexion was getting worse and worse, his brows were furrowed, and a soft "poof" sound reached my ears.
I turned around in surprise. Liu Lieyu had vomited blood again? This hair bun was even more complicated than I had imagined.
"Lieyu, are you alright?" I felt like throwing up when I called out Lieyu's name.
Liu Lieyu waved his hand, "It's nothing."
Suddenly, a strange movement came from underwater, a splashing sound, as if something was stirring. Liu Lieyu, how did Liu Lieyu revert to his snake form, still in a half-human, half-snake state? I suppressed my fear and forced a smile.
My body, however, honestly leaned closer to the wall, even though I was already pressed tightly against the bed. I turned my eyes away, no longer looking at the thick snake tail.
Liu Lieyu chanted the incantation again, and thankfully his snake tail remained coiled quietly without moving around, otherwise I really wouldn't have been able to keep up the act.
However, Liu Lieyu actually revealed his divine form to break the curse, which greatly surprised me. I glanced at my hand again, and for some reason, I had a premonition that the curse wouldn't be broken for several days.
I don't know how long Liu Lieyu and I stayed in the holy spring. I felt like my skin was going to peel off, and my fingers had long since become wrinkled.
My God, how much longer! I sighed and looked at Liu Lieyu's expression. I saw fine beads of sweat on Liu Lieyu's forehead.
I don't know what the Green Silk Curse is. It's so powerful that even Liu Lieyu couldn't break it. If Youdu can cast such a powerful spell, there's no reason why someone could possess his body. I've racked my brains but still can't find the reason. In the end, I can only blame myself.
As I was thinking, Liu Lieyu, who had been chanting incantations with his eyes closed, suddenly opened them, looking exhausted as if he had exhausted all his true energy.
"How is it? Did you get it off?" I asked, forcing myself to help Liu Lieyu up despite my discomfort. Judging from his condition, I guessed he hadn't succeeded.
Liu Lieyu shook his head, looking at my fingertips with resentment.
"Let's go back first, and think of a way to find some gods who specialize in spells."
Although Liu Lieyu was unwilling, he was indeed exhausted, so he could only nod in agreement and then lean on my shoulder to rest with his eyes closed.
