"Okay." I quickly stood up, clapped my hands, and ran to the backyard to wash my hands.
After washing my hands, I went to the kitchen to get the bowls and chopsticks for the three of us. After serving us fragrant rice, I sat down at the table to wait for You and Feng Su.
Feng Su was carrying a dark clay pot, still steaming with white vapor. I could tell from the smell that it was chicken soup being stewed today.
Sighing silently to myself, I realized that another chicken in the house was missing.
You quickly followed Feng Su out, carrying a plate of stir-fried pork kidneys. After placing it on the table, she went out again.
Liu Lieyu and I waited for You to return with practiced ease. I rested my chin on my hands, looked at the table full of delicious food, and then looked around. I felt so happy.
Although there are only the three of us here, and we have to do many things ourselves, unlike when we were served by thousands of people in Heaven, there has never been a better period in my life than this.
I really want to stay here forever.
“Master,” Feng Su suddenly called out to me.
"What's wrong?" I snapped out of my daze and looked at Feng Su sitting across from me.
"Master, can we sneak out and play when things calm down outside?" Feng Su looked at me with bright, sparkling eyes.
"What? Are you finding this place boring?"
“No.” Feng Su quickly shook her head, her face serious. “Life here is as wonderful as a dream.” Feng Su hesitated for a moment, then lowered her head. “Sometimes, I even feel like this is a dream.”
I chuckled to myself; I often feel that way too.
Feng Su continued, "I am willing to stay here with Master and You Yuan forever."
"Me too." I smiled, my expression one of unprecedented happiness.
“But, Master,” Feng Su paused and then said, “Although life here is wonderful, once things calm down, we can still travel together to explore the world and enjoy life to the fullest. We can go out for a few days now and then come back.”
"It's definitely possible." I nodded. Although Liu Lieyu still refuses to give up on me, I don't believe he can keep searching forever. Once things calm down outside, we can go out and have some fun occasionally, and then come back. It would be perfect. I think it's time for the grand finale. You, Feng Su, and I can live a wonderful life together.
"What can I do?" You's voice came from outside the door.
When I looked up again, You had already gracefully taken her seat.
"Feng Su and I were discussing going out together in the future," I happily shared with You.
You listened with a smile and said, "You can go out and play later if you want, but for now we need to stay here for the time being."
"Of course we know."
After dinner, the moon was back hanging on the branches in the blink of an eye.
Liu Lieyu, Feng Su, and I were all lying on the chairs on the balcony. Feng Su was lying alone, while You Zegong and I were lying together.
I glanced at Feng Su, feeling a pang of heartache.
Feng Su has been spending every day with me these past few days, mainly watching You and me being all lovey-dovey. Fortunately, Feng Su is oblivious and doesn't seem to mind.
However, Feng Su has been single for ten thousand years, and he sees me and You every day, which makes me want to find Feng Su a partner again.
If Feng Su also finds a good partner, then the three of us will become a group of four: me and You, and Feng Su and his partner.
Most importantly, four of them could make a mahjong table, instead of playing cards like we do now.
"Feng Su".
"What are you doing?" Although Feng Su didn't know what I was going to do, she had a bad feeling when she saw my expression, and looked at me with some wariness.
"Feng Su, have you ever had a crush on anyone over the years?" I began to probe indirectly.
"You," Feng Su said with a broad smile, looking at me, "I like you the most, Master."
"Except for me."
"Huh?" Feng Su lowered his head and scratched his head. "Besides you, Master, I don't seem to know any other women."
My goodness, I finally know why Feng Su is single. It turns out she has too few connections; she doesn't know any girls besides me... It would be strange if Feng Su were single.
"Don't you know any other girls? There were so many fairies in Heaven before, didn't you know any of them?"
Feng Su shook her head, "I don't know them. Sometimes they look familiar, but I forget what their names are."
"Okay." Feng Su really is a clueless idiot with negative emotional intelligence. It seems the heavy responsibility of finding a partner will fall on my shoulders.
I sighed. It's a pity I have to stay here now, otherwise I would like to go out and choose a partner for Feng Su right now.
"Xin'er, why are you sighing?" You touched my hair at the back and asked in a low voice.
I whispered in You's ear, "If Feng Su is this silly, how will she ever find a boyfriend?"
"You two, what are you whispering about behind my back?!" Unexpectedly, Feng Su saw what I was doing and immediately protested.
"Nothing, nothing," I said, turning my head away and laughing awkwardly.
"Nothing?" Feng Su's suspicious gaze swept over You and me. "Nothing? Why can't I hear it?"
"Are you talking about me?" Feng Su was unusually shrewd for once.
"Nobody said anything about you," I said with a big smile.
Feng Su wasn't buying it. "If you didn't say anything about me, why won't you let me hear it?"
Well, Feng Su is stubborn and won't listen to reason.
"Emmm..." I hesitated for a while before finally remembering, "We just said we wanted to give you a surprise."
"A surprise?" Feng Su was a little confused. "Why would you want to surprise me out of the blue?"
My brain started working at lightning speed, and dates flashed through my mind. And believe it or not, I actually found them.
"Feng Su, you've forgotten." I looked at Feng Su with a pained expression, tears welling in my eyes.
"What did I forget?" Feng Su was a little confused.
I sniffed. "In a few days, it will be the 13,452nd anniversary of when I found you."
Feng Su was stunned, remained silent, and gradually her eyes reddened. "Master, you still remember?"
"Of course I remember." I nodded. "I was just talking to You about whether I should surprise you that day. I didn't want you to know, but you kept asking me."
"Master!" Feng Su wiped away the tears of excitement from the corners of her eyes and tried to get up to rush towards me.
I quickly stopped Feng Su's movements, "No, this chair can't support the weight of the three of us."
"Oh." Feng Su responded with an "oh," then withdrew her outstretched hand and lay back in the chair, still sobbing. "Master, I thought you had long forgotten, but I didn't expect you to still remember."
"How could I forget such an important day?"
"But if Master doesn't forget, why hasn't he given me any surprises before?" Feng Su asked curiously, raising her eyes.
I froze on the spot, unsure how to respond.
How am I supposed to answer that question?
