I looked up and saw Fei Yan, disguised as a little guard, quietly enter my room.
Fei Yan glanced at me, lightly cast a spell, and instantly transformed into my likeness, her every move remarkably similar to mine.
Fei Yan looked me up and down. "Your magic has been restored?"
"Yes." I nodded. "Liu Lieyu returned my magic power to me."
Fei Yan nodded thoughtfully, then said, "Just transform into the appearance I just showed. Once you're outside, someone named Zi Ye will meet you. Just follow his instructions."
I nodded, "Okay." In an instant, I transformed back into the appearance I had when Fei Yan arrived.
Fei Yan looked me over and nodded. "You can go now. Remember to go find the person named Ziye."
I pushed open the door, my hands clenched tightly were burning hot, and I felt nervous.
As soon as I stepped out, a round-faced man with a bulbous nose came up to me, shouting, "Why are you so late? The new master is getting impatient. Come with me now." Without saying a word, he dragged me out.
In public, under the watchful eyes of many, I couldn't very well disobey, so I obediently followed behind the man.
When I made sure no one was around, I whispered, "Are you Ziye?"
"Yes." The man nodded quietly and continued, "Come with me. I'll settle you in first, and then I'll send you out for the ceremony."
"Okay." I relaxed and followed the man with peace of mind.
At midnight, they led me to a secluded spot. The courtyard there was rather simple, but the surrounding area was very quiet and deserted.
"You can stay here in peace. Just let me know if you need anything," Ziye said, taking out a key from her waist and opening the gate to the courtyard.
"Okay." I nodded and stepped into the slightly simple courtyard. Although the courtyard was simple, it was very clean, and it was clear that someone had cleaned it carefully.
After I went inside, Ziye turned to leave, but I suddenly remembered something and called out to her, "By the way, how is You?"
Ziye turned around and said, "Don't worry, we've been keeping an eye on You. We'll take him out first when the time comes."
"Okay. Thank you."
"You're too kind." Ziye's round face looked very honest. "Please wait a moment, I'll go get you some food. I'll take care of you for the rest of the days."
"Okay." I nodded in satisfaction.
After Ziye left, I went into the house first and sat down, resting my chin on my hand. Fei Yan really found a good person.
I didn't have to wait long before Ziye returned, carrying a large plate of food and placing it in front of me.
I looked at the roast pork and rice in front of me. The color and taste were not as good as those of the chef in my previous palace, but it was still considered top-notch.
I picked up my chopsticks and casually ate a couple of bites before putting them down again. Although it was top-quality food, my palate has become quite discerning these days.
"What's wrong? Is it not to your liking?" Ziye asked nervously when she saw me put down my chopsticks.
I chuckled twice and said, "It tastes great, but I don't have much of an appetite right now."
Ziye thought for a moment, then put away the bowls and chopsticks. Before leaving, he waved his hand, and the table was instantly filled with all kinds of snacks.
I looked at Ziye, who was standing at the door with a bowl and chopsticks, in shock. Ziye scratched her head shyly and said, "I heard from Huanzi that you love to eat snacks."
"Thank you for your trouble." I smiled gratefully at Ziye and reached for some snacks.
"It's all I should do." Ziye chuckled and then pointed to the other side of the courtyard with his other free finger. "I live there. Just call me if you need anything."
"Okay." I glanced at the courtyard outside and nodded.
At midnight, he disappeared with his bowl and chopsticks, leaving me alone in the room.
This room is nothing like the one Liu Lieyu prepared especially for me, which has all sorts of gadgets, like a TV, a game console, and all sorts of other things for entertainment. This room is truly, well, bare walls.
Besides a bed, a table, two stools, and a wardrobe, there really wasn't anything else.
I sighed. This was probably where the many servants in the palace lived, and this room was considered quite nice.
I was so bored, and since I couldn't go out and wander around, I had no choice but to climb into bed and start daydreaming before falling asleep.
I wake up and keep thinking, then I go back to sleep, and wake up and start thinking again.
I don't know how long this cycle of days went by.
Later, I was so bored that I got up and knocked on the door of a room in another corner of the courtyard.
As soon as I knocked the first time, Ziye opened the door and a kind-looking face appeared behind it.
"What do you need from me?"
I waved my hand and smiled, "It's not really about giving orders, it's just that I'm a bit bored."
Ziye scratched his head, somewhat not understanding the meaning of the word "boredom." Cultivators are all experts at enduring loneliness; let alone ten days or half a month, even a thousand years is but a blink of an eye.
Has anything happened outside lately?
Ziye stepped forward, closed her door, and gestured for me to enter. I returned to my room and sat down. Only then did Ziye begin to speak eloquently, “Everything has been peaceful lately. The wedding ceremony of the Eastern Emperor and the Empress is approaching, and decorations are being made everywhere in the palace.”
"Has the Eastern Emperor visited the Empress recently?" After Ziye finished speaking, I asked the question that I was most concerned about.
"Of course I went to check it out." Ziye said, then cautiously looked around again and whispered, "Lord Feiyan concealed it very well, even the Eastern Emperor didn't notice."
"That's good." I breathed a sigh of relief; it seemed like the matter was almost certain. Now I just needed to wait here patiently.
Ziye glanced at the empty table. "Have you finished all your snacks?"
"I'm done eating." I felt a little embarrassed; I'd finished so many snacks in no time, it made me feel like I had a huge appetite.
Ziye chuckled sheepishly, waved his long sleeves, and another pile of snacks appeared on the table. "Just eat, and call me when you're done."
I excitedly took one and popped it into my mouth. "Thank you, Midnight."
"You're too kind." Ziye stretched out his mouth, revealing a familiar smile.
Do you still need to eat?
I glanced at the snacks on the table, then thought of the last meal, and decisively shook my head, "I'm not eating."
These days, I've been staying in my room, eating snacks, and lying in bed. It's really just eating and sleeping, but even so, I'm still slim and haven't gained any weight.
I couldn't help but sigh, "It's so good to be an immortal! You can eat and drink whatever you want and not get fat!"
Time flies, and in the blink of an eye, the day of the grand ceremony arrived.
That day, even though I was in the most secluded courtyard, I could hear the festive decorations and bustling activity outside. The contrast with the liveliness outside was the quiet solitude of my room.
I rested my chin on my hand and glanced out the window, my thoughts drifting away. It was just a trivial ceremony, yet Liu Lieyu treated it with such fanfare. If he knew that the people around him weren't the ones he wanted, he'd probably go crazy.
