Chapter 245

Is it really that convenient?

Feng Su and I scratched our heads. It really did happen in the blink of an eye, not even a second.

"Did the dessert go bad?" You raised an eyebrow at the package in Feng Su's arms.

"It's not bad, it's not bad." Feng Su and I waved our hands in succession, a smug smile on You's face.

I swallowed hard, looking at the miasma-filled forest before me. Returning to this place was completely different from the first time.

The first time we came here, we were looking forward to fighting monsters, but now we're here to visit old friends. I wonder how Hao is doing now. He's probably still happily being the king of his own mountain, with a bunch of little demons by his side.

I composed myself, looked ahead, and said, "Let's go."

"Hmm." Feng Su couldn't wait any longer and was the first to rush into the miasma forest, shouting, "Hao, Hao, where are you? Hao, Master and I have come to see you."

Feng Su's voice echoed throughout the forest, startling a flock of birds into flight.

"Someone's coming!" I heard a strange noise coming from the nearby woods and quickly called out to warn them.

"Is Hao out?" Feng Su asked casually as she stepped forward.

"Don't go, no." But my words came too late; Feng Su had already stepped forward.

Suddenly, several small demons sprang out of the jungle, brandishing weapons and looking at us warily. "Who are you? And you, blond boy, why do you call our king by his name?!"

Feng Su chuckled upon seeing this, nonchalantly stepping forward to rub the little demon's face. "I'm your king's friend. Where's Hao?"

"Shut up! Don't you dare disrespect our King!" The little demon turned her face away, clearly unhappy, her spear pointing directly at Feng Su's throat.

Feng Su remained nonchalant, still grinning, and said, "Go and call your king out."

Fortunately, the people who came were just some minor demons with weak magical powers, and they would not cause any harm to Feng Su. Only then did I feel relieved and watch the farce unfold before me.

"You!" Seeing that Feng Su completely ignored him, Xiao Yao's pride was clearly hurt. He suddenly stepped forward, his spear pointing directly at Feng Su's throat!

The white-gold spearhead, radiating a chilling aura, was about to pierce Feng Su's fair Adam's apple when, at the critical moment, Feng Su's two slender fingers pinched the little demon's Adam's apple. Feng Su smiled, and the next second, the white-gold spearhead snapped in two.

The little demon was clearly terrified by what she saw. Trembling, she stammered, "Who are you? What do you want here?"

Although the little demon was frightened, it still refused to retreat even half a step.

Feng Su squinted at the little demon in front of her, patted the little demon's shoulder, and said, "Hao is not bad to have a subordinate like you." After saying that, Feng Su shouted to herself, "Hao, Hao, where are you? If you don't come out, I won't give you the food I brought. There are your favorite jujube paste cakes and hibiscus cakes. Hao, Hao, Hao."

Feng Su's voice was very loud. She used all her strength and even added her magic. Her shouts echoed throughout the entire forest.

"I'm here! Sister! Feng Su!" A rough voice suddenly came from the air.

It took me a while to realize that it was Hao's voice. I was completely taken aback by that rough voice. I was used to hearing Hao call me "sister" in his childish voice, so hearing him call me that felt like being called "brother" by Zhang Fei.

As soon as the voice fell, a tremor came from the forest ahead, and a crimson, mountain-like body moved rapidly toward us. Because Hao was moving so fast, even the forest began to shake violently.

"Sister!" Hao called out to me in a rough voice as he ran, and I could tell from his movements that he wanted to throw himself into my arms.

Looking at Hao's massive body, I silently considered whether I would be crushed to death if Hao bumped into me like that. Hmm, no, then I'll just have to endure it. I can't dodge it. If I take a step back, I'm afraid Hao will be sad if he sees it.

I took a breath and stood firmly in place, waiting for the imagined impact.

As Hao approached me, he was about to jump into my arms as usual, but he noticed the huge size difference between us. I watched helplessly as Hao approached me, and just as he was about to press down on me, he suddenly turned back into the red baby he always was.

I almost didn't react, but luckily Hao cleverly climbed onto me, and his rough voice turned into a childish one as he spoke, "Sister, why are you here? I thought I would never see you again." Hao blinked his round eyes at me, his eyes were even a little wet, and his little hands held my arm tightly.

"Cough cough." You coughed violently behind me. I turned around and saw You's somewhat dissatisfied expression. I glanced at her and turned back. Really, Hao is still a child. Such a cute baby, and You is jealous.

"Sister, who is he?" Hao had obviously noticed You, who had been restless behind me. "By the way, where is Jinyu?" Hao shook his round head, looking left and right for Jinyu.

My heart sank, and I met Feng Su's gaze, speechless for a moment.

"Sister?" Hao sensed something was off and asked with some suspicion.

I lowered my eyes, steeled my heart, and said, "Jinyu is dead."

"Dead? How could that be?" Hao was shocked, his small mouth agape.

"It's a long story." I carefully chose my words and then told Hao everything.

After hearing this, Hao was unable to calm down for a long time. His eyes, which were just slightly red, were now filled with tears. Hao sniffed, "Jinyu... Jinyu, how could you be so foolish? If only you hadn't gone back then."

Seeing Hao's grief, Feng Su also felt a pang of sadness. Jin Yu's sudden departure was an indelible wound for all three of us.

"Hao, don't be sad. At least Jinyu was happy when he left. He finally fulfilled his wish." Feng Su patted Hao's shoulder and comforted him gently. She then took out a piece of hibiscus cake from the golden package and held it to Hao's lips. "Don't be sad. Look what I brought for you. It's your favorite hibiscus cake. It's super delicious."

Hao was still sniffling, wiping away tears from the corners of his eyes with his little hand, and said in a muffled voice, "Thank you, Feng Su and sister, but I can't eat right now. Let me rest for a bit."

I patted Hao's little head. "Alright, don't be sad. We can't cry every time we meet, can we? Jin Yu won't be happy to see that."

"Hmm." Hao nodded, then, as if remembering something, turned to the little demon beside him and said, "You all step back."

"yes."

In an instant, those few lesser demons vanished.

"Hao, your subordinates treat you quite well," Feng Su suddenly said.

Hao scratched his head somewhat embarrassedly, "Really?"

"By the way, sister, what brings you all here so suddenly?"

"I missed you." I pinched Hao's soft little face and smiled.

Hao covered his face, blinking his eyes, "Really?"
