Chapter 274

"Goodbye, sister." Hao raised his little face and gave me a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Goodbye." I smiled and accepted Hao's kiss, then ruffled Hao's cute little head.

"Feng Su, take good care of Hao." I stood up and said to Feng Su.

"Don't worry, Master."

I watched Feng Su and Hao leave, and only after they had gone far away did I come back into the house.

"They came to say goodbye?"

As soon as I entered the room, You sat up on the bed and turned her head to look at me.

I nodded slightly, and after a few steps, I moved to the bedside and lay back down in bed.

"Yes, Hao said the new recruits have to stay in the barracks for a month," I said after wrapping myself in my blanket. "Why so long?"

"Was it long?" Seeing me lie down, You lay back down on the bed and hugged me.

"It's long." I'm still a little worried about Hao, and I don't know if he can adapt to life in the barracks.

"Don't worry." You saw right through me. "Hao isn't the child he seems to be."

"Of course I know."

Hao is a powerful demon who dominates a region, but perhaps because I'm used to seeing him as a child, I still feel like he's a baby.

"Then don't worry, look at Feng Su now, isn't she great?"

Feng Su has grown up so fast; she's nothing like the girl who used to follow me around all day, only knowing how to eat and drink.

I chatted idly with You for a few minutes before drifting off to sleep again.

When I woke up again, You was no longer on the bed. I touched the spot where You had just slept, and it was cold; it seemed she had been gone for a long time.

Was You busy again? I got up, put on my clothes, and opened the door to admire the scenery outside.

The air was filled with the aroma of stir-fried dishes. I turned my gaze toward the kitchen. Was I in the kitchen?

Thinking this, I headed towards the kitchen. After taking only a few steps, I heard the sound of Yuqie Cai (a type of vegetable) making noise.

A smile crept onto my lips. It seemed You hadn't left after all; I had thought she was busy with something else.

In the days following the departure of the mission, nothing unusual happened on Liu Lieyu's side.

Feng Su took good care of Hao in the barracks. Hao couldn't come back, but Feng Su would come back from time to time to report Hao's latest situation to me, and would also bring me some new gadgets to cheer me up from time to time.

You hasn't been busy lately, and often stays by my side in the palace, taking me out for walks and play.

During this period, You and I not only traveled all over Sun and Moon City, but also went to other cities in the Abyss.

"You, we've explored the entire Abyss, when can we go out and play?"

Although the abyss is interesting, it is ultimately a dark place where there is no sun or moon, and the land is mostly desert with very few flowers and plants.

I miss the sunshine and rain, the birdsong and fragrant flowers, the green mountains and clear waters above ground.

After a moment of contemplation, You replied, "Xin'er, wait a little longer."

I smiled and said, "It's okay, I'm not in a hurry."

Now is not the time to be willful. The outside world may be nice, but Liu Lieyu is watching us like a hawk.

You stared at me intently with her eyes as bright as starlight. "I won't keep you waiting too long."

The one-month period has passed, and today is the day Hao will return.

You and I went to Jixianglou early in the morning specifically to buy Hao's favorite desserts. Jixianglou's desserts have always been Hao's favorite.

I cleared the table in the living room and filled it with Hao's favorite desserts, while You was busy preparing the meal in the kitchen.

I secretly hid the gift I was going to give Hao under the cushion where he was going to sit. When Hao comes back and sits down, he will find this little surprise.

After everything in the living room was ready, I went to the kitchen to help You.

I was helping You wash the vegetables when I heard a noise outside.

I listened closely, and wasn't that Hao's carefree voice?

"Sister, Brother Youyuan? Sister!" Hao called out to me and Youyuan from afar.

I hurriedly put down what I was doing and ran out. I hadn't seen Hao for a whole month, and I really missed him terribly.

"Hao." As soon as I went out, I saw Feng Su and Hao. It had been a month since I last saw Hao. He didn't seem to have changed much in appearance, but his temperament was different. He seemed much more composed.

"Sister!" Hao's eyes lit up immediately when he saw my dark little eyes, and he ran towards me with his short legs.

I knelt down and caught Hao, then gave him a big kiss on the cheek. "I missed you so much."

"I miss my sister too," Hao said sweetly, nestled in my arms.

I ran to the living room with a smile. As soon as we entered, I put Hao down and said, "Go sit down. Your sister has prepared some pastries from Jixianglou for you. They are all your favorites."

"Thank you, sister." Hao said, then ran to the table and reached for the snacks with his chubby little hands.

I was getting really anxious watching Hao hesitate to sit down. Why wouldn't he sit down?

How could Hao discover the surprise I prepared for him if he didn't sit down?

Hao, who usually sits down to eat snacks, refused to sit down today for some reason and stood in front of the table eating his snacks.

"Master, what's wrong?" Feng Su asked when she saw my anxious expression.

I shook my head. "It's nothing."

I glanced at Hao's small body again, sighed, and thought, "Oh well, they'll find out sooner or later."

"I went to the kitchen to help You."

"I'll go too."

"Why don't you stay and keep Hao company?"

Feng Su turned around and looked at the small figure by the table, then nodded, "Okay."

As soon as I entered the kitchen, I saw several dishes laid out on the table. "So fast."

You nodded in agreement, and her words did not affect the actions of her subordinates at all. "Take these dishes over first."

"Okay." I took a tray from the cabinet, placed the four dishes on the table on the tray, and carried it to the living room.

Feng Su stood beside Hao, occasionally taking a dessert to eat. When she heard a noise at the door, she turned around and saw me carrying a tray of dishes. She quickly gathered up the snacks on the table and took the dishes from my tray and placed them on the table.

Hao stared intently at the freshly cooked dishes, "Is it Brother Youyuan who's cooking again?"

"yes."

Hao swallowed hard. "The most memorable thing about my month in the barracks has been Brother Youyuan's cooking."

Feng Su placed all the dishes I was holding on the table after a long time. I used one hand to rub Hao's head and said, "Then we can eat our fill today."

After chatting with Hao for a while, I went to the kitchen to get more dishes. Sure enough, there were four more dishes on the table, and You was cleaning up the mess left after the battle.

"Is everything done?" I placed the tray on the table and moved the dishes onto it one by one. This time, one dish was particularly large, so I could only put three dishes on the tray for the time being.

"It's done." You nodded and pointed to the soup sitting on the stove. "This soup will be ready in a little while."

"Okay." I nodded and carried the three dishes to the living room.

Just as I was about to return, You gracefully came over carrying the large plate of food that I had left over.
