Chapter 281

Today marks the 8th day since Liu Lieyu was imprisoned.

Everything is moving in a positive direction, and none of the things I was worried about have happened.

"Xin'er, I need to go find Liu Lieyu to ask him something. Do you want to come with me?"

I shook my head hurriedly. I was too busy avoiding Liu Lieyu to even think about moving closer.

"I'm not going, you go."

"I'll be back soon." As soon as You finished speaking, she disappeared.

After You left, I went out of the palace and prepared to take a stroll around Sun and Moon City.

Now that Feng Su and Hao aren't with me, it's no fun for me to wander around alone, so I thought I'd go to the Man Mansion to find Jiao'er.

Since Feng Su and Hao stopped being around often, I often went to play with Jiao'er.

I easily made my way into the barbarian mansion and found the courtyard where Jiao'er was.

I wonder if Jiao'er is home now. If she isn't, then this is terrible.

Why are there so many people? Maids were walking back and forth in Jiao'er's courtyard, and I hid in a corner, looking around for Jiao'er's figure.

"Hurry up, Miss is waiting for her soup." One of the women, who looked quite familiar, urged the woman carrying the soup pot behind her.

Isn't this Jiao'er's personal maid? Follow her and you'll know where Jiao'er is.

I followed her all the way, but the maid didn't return to Jiao'er's courtyard; instead, she walked further and further away.

Where are we headed?

I followed the two of them through winding paths until I finally saw Jiao'er.

Jiao'er sat in the pavilion in her back garden, engrossed in reading a book. A gentle breeze blew, and the light gauze on the pavilion fluttered in the wind, further highlighting Jiao'er's graceful figure.

"Miss, please have some soup." The maid ladled the soup from the pot into a bowl and placed it respectfully on the table.

Man Jiao'er put down her book, her slender white fingers holding a white jade spoon, and sipped the soup spoonful by spoonful.

After taking a few sips, Man Jiao'er put down the spoon and gently wiped the traces from the corner of her mouth with a handkerchief, asking, "Is my courtyard ready?"

"Miss, it's not all packed yet. They'll let us know when it's ready."

No wonder there were so many people coming and going in Jiao'er's courtyard just now; they were tidying up the courtyard.

There was no one around Jiao'er now, only a personal maid waiting for her. I looked around and saw that no one was passing by, so I appeared in front of Jiao'er.

"Ah!" Jiao'er was startled when she first saw me, and even the maid beside her shouted and was about to call for help.

Shh! It's me!

When Jiao'er heard my familiar voice and saw that it was me, she calmed down. The maidservant serving her had also seen me before.

Why did you suddenly come here?

"I was bored being alone, so I thought I'd come and visit you."

"I see." Jiao'er clutched her chest, clearly still shaken. "Don't show up so suddenly next time, it's really scary."

"Okay." I smiled sheepishly.

"What do you want me to play with you for?"

I propped my head up and thought for a moment, then said, "Let's go for a walk."

Girls naturally go out shopping and chatting when they go out, but unfortunately, I don't have a phone to take pictures with my daughter to remember the occasion.

"Then wait for me to change my clothes and go out with you." Jiao'er was helped up by her maid.

I glanced at Jiao'er's clothes. "No need to change, you're fine as you are."

Because Jiao'er was at home, she dressed rather simply, in a light purple dress, and her hair was not tied up.

"Is it okay?" Jiao'er looked down at her clothes and touched her hair. "But I haven't done my hair yet."

"What's so difficult about that?" I smiled and took out a hairpin to give Jiao'er a simple hairstyle.

"Jiao'er, you look beautiful like this." To match Jiao'er's clothes, I also gave her a light purple hairpin.

"Really?" Jiao'er wanted to see her own appearance, but there was no mirror on the pavilion.

"Really, Miss looks beautiful no matter what."

"Let's go then." Jiao'er stopped worrying about the matter after hearing the waiter's words.

"I can't go with you." I waved my hand and glanced around. Fortunately, the pavilion was relatively secluded, and no one was passing by.

"I'll wait for you at the teahouse near your house, the usual place." With that, I darted out of the barbarian mansion.

The reason I'm being so careful at the Man family mansion, trying not to be seen by anyone else, is because of the slightly awkward encounter with Man Jiao'er's father. Also, given my current status, I frequently visit the Man family mansion, and if meddlesome people see this, it could cause unnecessary conflicts.

I waited at the teahouse for a while, and Manjiao'er arrived soon after.

"Where are we going?" Jiao'er asked, sitting across from me.

"Let's go get something to eat first."

"Yongtai Pavilion?"

"Yes." I nodded. "You really know me."

"You always eat at their restaurant."

"Their dishes are more to my liking."

Jiao'er and I chatted and laughed all the way to Yongtai Pavilion.

We spent the whole day out, and I figured You should be back by now.

"Jiao'er, that's about enough for today. Let me take you home."

"good."

After I escorted Jiao'er back to the barbarian mansion, I carried my bags and belongings and went back alone.

"Did you have fun?"

As soon as I entered the house, I saw You sitting in the living room, holding a book in her hands.

Why do all these people love reading so much? I thought to myself, and put down everything I was holding.

"happy."

"What did you buy?" You put down her book and looked at the bags I had just put down.

"Snacks and some unusual toys." I landed next to You and nestled into her arms. "What did you ask Liu Lieyu today? Was he willing to cooperate with you?"

You shook her head, a smile playing on her lips, "He wouldn't say anything except to curse me."

I burst out laughing. "If you imprison him, how could Liu Lieyu possibly obey you?"

"So how long did you stay with Liu Lieyu?"

"I just got back too. It was quite satisfying to hear him helplessly cursing me."

In an instant, a scene flashed in my mind: Liu Lieyu imprisoned, furious and impotent, cursing wildly, while You calmly and methodically watched Liu Lieyu, observing his every move and stillness.

"I really should have gone with you." Just imagining the scene made me laugh, and I instantly regretted not agreeing to go with You.

"It's okay, there will be another chance next time." You gently rubbed my head and picked up her book to read again.

I rested my head on Liu Lieyu's lap, gazing at You Jiao's beautiful face, and eventually fell asleep.

When I woke up, You was gone. I was sleeping in the living room with a small pillow under my head and a small blanket draped over my body.

Where did You go again? Before I could even get up to look for him, I heard a familiar sound coming from outside.

I know, You's cooking again. You really has a special fondness for cooking, it's like she suddenly discovered a talent for it.
